Ascension, Goodman Campbell to Expand Care – Inside INdiana Business

Ascension St. Vincent health system and neurosurgery group Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine are expanding their longstanding business relationship. The two businesses have signed a Letter of Intent to partner at St. Vincent Indianapolis and Peyton Manning Childrens Hospital at St. Vincent.

The partnership will also allow forexpanded access ofneurological services outside of central Indiana.

Goodman Campbell, formerly known as Indianapolis Neurosurgical Group, was started in the 1970s. Since then, the physician-owned practice has been the sole provider of neurosurgical services on the St. Vincent Indianapolis campus.

But with this broadening partnership, Goodman Campbell will be able to expand its services across the state through its relationship with Ascension St. Vincent.

By investing the necessary resources to enhance our partnership with a nationally-recognized neurosurgery leader like Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine, we believe we can provide our adult and pediatric patients with the best possible care for neurological disorders right here in Indiana, said Erica Wehrmeister, St. Vincent Central region president.This partnership is an innovative example of how health systems and independent practices can successfully join forces to improve care for patients.

As part of their growing partnership, they will jointly develop a new neurosurgical center of excellence at St. Vincent Indianapolis.
