The Las Vegas Raiders signed Iow defensive tackle Noah Shannon as an undrafted free agent.

Lets take a closer look at Shannon:

6-1, 300 pounds.

2023 Status:

Shannon was suspended all season by the NCAA for violating its gambling policy. He reportedly bet on an Iowa basketball game, but not football.

Career highlights:

Shannon was an honorable mention All-Big 10 player and started all 14 games. He started all 14 games in 2021 and won the teams hustle award on defense. He redshirts in 2018 and played in a total of 15 games in 2019-20.

How he will fit in with Raiders:

Shannon was considered a draftable player before his suspension. The Raiders see his potential. He will likely be brought along slowly as he works off the rust from missing last season, although he was allowed to practice with the Hawkeyes for a short period last season. He likely projects as a practice-squad candidate at a position where the Raiders could use some young depth.
