49ers Jimmy Garoppolo practices for second consecutive day

Im trying to get it back to my old motion where its fluid and everything like that, but it will just take some time, Garoppolo said on Wednesday. Its a process, but were working in the right direction.

Perhaps the veteran is getting a couple days off to ensure his readiness for Sunday. Williams doesnt necessarily need the days of practice to be effective on the field. However, his two consecutive absences arent encouraging and Friday should give more insight into his availability in the biggest game of the year.

The subtext is obvious. The 49ers actively want the Rams to at least thinkthat Garoppolo is capable of playing in Sundays pivotal showdown at SoFi Stadium. That way, the Rams will at least be compelled to prepare for both Garoppolo and rookie quarterback Trey Lance, who started the 49ers most recent win over Houston.
