Here are the top stories today in Lakeview:

1. Radio host Eric Ferguson will "step away" from his role at 101.9 The Mix after multiple female co-workers alleged inappropriate behavior. Four women came forward this year, alleging The Mix management protected Ferguson from accusations during his 25 years at the station. (Paid source: Tribune)

2. Details are emerging in the shooting death of a Good Samaritan in Logan Square in September. Michael Bankston III was shot and killed while trying to help a woman being accosted by her boyfriend on Milwaukee Avenue last month. The boyfriend, 22-year-old Jesus Garcia, allegedly shot Bankston six times for intervening. (ABC7)

3. Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said this Halloween "will look a little different than last year thanks to the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines that are readily available." However, the top doctor urged caution among children who remain unvaccinated to celebrate the holiday safely. (NBC5)

4. The annual Haunted Halsted parade kicks off tonight at the corner of Halsted and Aldin. A costume contest will be held afterwards at Waveland and Broadway. Last year's event was cancelled due to the pandemic. (Block Club)

5. All three Parlor Pizza locations in Chicago are open this weekend after being shut down by investigators this week. The restaurants in Wicker Park, River North and the West Loop were apparently being investigated for violating the Illinois Tax Act, but the nature of the investigation remains unclear. (ABC7)
