In this SWE Diverse episode, Rachel Morford, President of the Society of Women Engineers, speaks with Mark Joppru, the head of Consumer Segment and Service Robotics for ABB in the US. They discuss the exciting field of robotics as well as the importance of growing diversity in the industry. In particular, they discuss ABBs belief that Diversity and inclusiveness help us to deliver power and productivity.

Mark Joppru is the head of Consumer Segment and Service Robotics for ABB in the US. He is responsible for business leadership, segment management, and driving customer focused and collaborative growth initiatives in the United States. He also leads sales for the ABB Robotics and Machine Automation business area in the US.

Joppru was named to the Robotics leadership role in 2020. He joined ABB in 2017 and led the Motion business selling effort. Prior to ABB he was in multiple sales leadership roles at Rockwell Automation for 25 years including Industry Sales Director for China, Latin America and Global Director of Automotive sales.

Joppru holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University. Mark lives in Atlanta and enjoys BBQ, auto racing and off-roading in his Jeep.
