TheInsanity Bets ($IBET) presale is hot.

A $1 million jackpot further fuels the FOMO around the presale. $IBET resale participants will compete to win the entire $1 million Insanity Jackpot. The most sensational crypto giveaway of 2024 is here.

Yes. People stake more in meme coins. The presale is affordable and accessible to investors of all levels.

But joining the $IBET presale doesnt just offer the chance to win the $1M jackpot it presents a compelling investment opportunity. Buying $IBET tokens early, investors are signing up for large potential returns.

This is a presale not to be overlooked.

Insanity Bets is an emerging GambleFi project that is set to become a leader toward the end of the year, reveals the analysis of its white paper and website. The visionary project has the capacity to elevate the online gambling sector. Transparency and decentralization are its core values.

Furthermore, the platforms staking mechanism introduces a novel passive income model that appeals to non-gamblers. Even for people who dont understand gambling, the large growth potential of the industry is compelling.

Gambling is risky. But what about gambling investments?

A gambling house is designed to win. For example, Insanity Bets implements a provably fair house edge ranging from 1% to 5%. The target helps it minimize the risk of losses for both investors and stakers. It has also set a cap on bet sizes to ensure stability.

To safeguard the $IBET tokenomics, a carefully crafted passive income mechanism will be launched:

Investors can stake $USDT, $ETH, $WBTC, and $IBET to mint $ILP tokens onInsanity Bets.

$ILP is integral to the platforms scalability. They fuel the house fund and enable larger bets. $ILP token creators get 90% of the houses profits (and losses) from games.

The gambling industry is highly fertile.

The shift to digital platforms, in particular, makes these games more accessible and cost-effective. But persistent security concerns have tarnished the reputation of online gambling. Credibility issues and fraud incidents affect its popularity.

GambleFi emerges as a solution.

It brings in an era of transparency and decentralization through the intelligent use of blockchain technology. It enhances security and transparency through visible and verifiable smart contracts. At the same time, it reduces the risk of manipulation and fraud.

Decentralization is another interesting aspect. It turns investors into the house and platforms like Insanity Bets, an emerging leader in the GambleFi movement, offer a favorable risk-reward ratio.

They allow users to enter the industry with limited financial exposure while capitalizing on its fertility over the next few years.

The growing interest in GambleFi is evident from platforms like Rollbit. RLB coins saw an astounding 5000% surge in 2023 alone.

So the rapid progress of the $IBET presale is understandable. To begin with, the vibrant dashboard features diverse offerings such as captivating casinos, sportsbooks, prediction markets, and lotteries. Key games on the platform include Coin Flip, Dice, Rock Paper Scissors, Roulette, Keno, Hi Lo, Crash, Blackjack (towards the end), Poker (towards the end), and Slots 55.

Insanity Bets stands could reach unicorn status in 2024, as a result, reflecting the industrys evolving landscape.

Users can participate in the $1M Insanity Giveaway by joining the $IBET presale. The swift progress of the presale indicates FOMO-fuelled exchange launches in the coming weeks.

The presale comes in multiple stages, with higher discounts and staking rewards for early participants. Through entry into the presale, investors can secure the token at low entry points and maximize their potential returns.

The tokenomics of $IBET is structured for long-term stability. It includes an 80-week vesting schedule for team allocations, which further speaks for the credibility of the project.

Slow to expand, internet casino gambling is the future of US betting, execs say – The Post and Courier

Posted: at 12:34 pm

Panelists agreed the industry needs to do a better job of educating state lawmakers about internet casino games, drawing explicit comparisons with the illegal, unregulated offshore web sites that attract customers from across the country. Legal sites are strictly regulated and offer customer protections, including responsible gambling options like self-imposed time-outs and deposit and activity limits, they said.

Cesar Fernandez, a senior director with FanDuel, said online casino games should prove increasingly attractive as federal post-pandemic aid dries up and states look for new revenue without raising taxes on their residents.

"Since 2018, FanDuel has paid $3.2 billion in taxes," he said. "That's a lot of teacher salaries, a lot of police officers and firefighters."

The industry cites several challenges to wider approval of internet casino gambling, including fears of increasing gambling addiction by "putting a slot machine in people's pocket," Iden said, adding casino companies need to do a better job of publicizing player protections the online companies offer.

Then there is the ongoing debate in the industry over whether internet gambling cannibalizes physical casinos. Many in the industry have long said the two types of gambling complement each other.

But recently, some casino executives have said they believe online gambling is hurting the revenues of brick-and-mortar casinos.

Adam Glass, an executive with Rush Street Interactive, an online gambling company, said his firm has relationships with physical casinos as well, and works hard to be "additive" to them.

He said online gambling can also be a job creator, not only designing and operating the games themselves, but also in ancillary industries like marketing and media.

The conference was scheduled to further debate whether internet gambling cannibalizes physical casinos later in the day on Wednesday.

Brazil Introduces 15% Tax on Player Prizes in Betting and Online Gambling – World Casino Directory

Posted: at 12:34 pm

Brazil has solidified its tax framework concerning player prizes and winnings within its burgeoning betting market. The Federal Revenue Service (RFB) of Brazil has officially outlined its stance on personal income tax (IRPF) applicable to net prizes acquired through betting, lotteries, and online gambling.

In line with expectations, the RFB has endorsed the governments decision to implement a 15% personal income tax on prizes and winnings exceeding BRL 2824 (approximately 530). Notably, the 15% tax levy will not be imposed on net winnings or prizes below BRL 2824, a threshold deemed as equivalent to two average monthly wages for Brazilian consumers.

For the Bets market, net prizes will be computed as the disparity between the prize amount won and the total sum wagered by the customer. Operators will apply the 15% tax charge at source upon crediting customer winnings, mirroring the practices observed in state lotteries. The framework, authorized by RFB General Secretary Robinson Sakiyama Barreirinhas, will necessitate amendments to Brazils federal tax legislation concerning the Income Tax on Individuals (IRPF) and the Declaration of Income Tax Withheld at Source (DIRF).

A Contentious Issue

The imposition of taxes on player prizes has been a contentious issue in the lead-up to the sports betting market launch. This measure was introduced following President Lula da Silvas endorsement of Bill No. 3,626/2023, which provided the legislative framework for Brazils entry into the federal sports betting and online gambling arena. As a federal law, the tax provisions of Bill No. 3,626/2023 required RFB review for integration into the broader tax regime.

The National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) urged the government to alleviate the tax burden on players before the Bets launch. ANJL advocated for congressional intervention, citing previous revisions to gambling tax rates applied to businesses, reduced from 18% to 12%, as essential for safeguarding market competition and integrity among licensed operators.

According to SBCNews, ANJL previously cautioned the PT government that international experiences show that taxing users encourages clandestine gambling. That is why they called to adjust the details to ensure the sustainable development of this promising sector. The Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) also criticized the governments decision and described the adopted tax model as not only legally questionable but also harmful to the consumer and the incipient regulated Brazilian betting market.

Presently, the PT government plans to launch the sports betting market with a 12% tax rate on gambling income and a BRL 30m (approximately 5.5m) fee for federal licenses valid over a five-year term. The remaining procedural tasks for the sports betting market launch fall under the purview of the Secretariat of Betting and Prizes (SPA), which is responsible for finalizing technical ordinances pertaining to payments, IT security, crime prevention, and responsible gambling protocols. Among the regulations issued by the SPA, the ban on credit card payments and the requirement for Banco Central do Brazil (BACEN) authorization for all customer deposits and withdrawals stand out.

Recent developments include the issuance of an SPA ordinance on IT security and the implementation of stringent rules on data management. Operators must ensure that IT-related data is stored within Brazil and accessible to the Ministry of the Economy and Finance. The SPA aims to release remaining ordinances on crime prevention and responsible gambling by the end of July, aligning with the PT governments commitment to launching the Bets market in 2024.

Casino Execs On Why Online Casino Cannibalization Isn’t Concern – PlayUSA

Posted: at 12:34 pm

Cannibalization became the buzzword for 2024 online casino debate in battleground states Maryland and New York.

Opponents of iGaming cited, and often sponsored, studies showing that online gaming decreases revenues at brick-and-mortar casino properties. Proponents brought forth studies taking the same data and concluding that no cannibalization occurs.

The cannibalization argument has divided the gambling industry, making efforts to convince legislators to legalize online casinos more difficult.

As a result, no states will legalize online casino this year. The cannibalization debate figures to continue to affect legalization efforts in 2025 and beyond.

However, despite the spirited debate in 2024, perhaps the question of casino cannibalization will mean very little to iGaming prospects in the long run. Even if cannibalization exists, its not likely to stop future industry evolution, consumer demand and state revenue desires involving online gaming.

Brick-and-mortar casino operators at the East Coast Gaming Congress in the pioneer city of US online casino gaming, Atlantic City, New Jersey, talked about why they are excited about the future of iGaming regardless of cannibalization.

I understand the argument about cannibalization, Mohegan Gaming CEO Ray Pineault said. As an operator, its something we have to be cognizant of. But are we better off, if there is cannibalization, gaining that for our own digital media rather than let operators who dont have bricks and mortar to come in and take that guest away. As bricks and mortar operators, we have the database. We need to take advantage of that. We are the first movers in these markets that are adding digital gaming, and we have to be ahead of it.

Executives for one brick-and-mortar casino operator at last months conference, The Cordish Cos., cited cannibalization as a reason it opposed online casino expansion.

Cordish is a company that focuses on developing entertainment districts sometimes built around casinos. Leadership doesnt view online gaming as complementary to its business model.

Other brick-and-mortar casino operators see iGaming as an acquisition tool to keep their properties relevant. And regulators in legal online casino states insist that cannibalization is being overblown.

Its hard to argue that iGaming in the aggregate hasnt been complementary to gaming in the aggregate, Ballys Corp. Chairman Soo Kim said. Any individual operator given their set of assets might resist that decision, but then theyre just talking their own book, right?

On one end of the cannibalization argument tends to be online gaming operators, larger casino operators such as Ballys that have invested heavily into iGaming, online casino suppliers and affiliates. On the other end are companies such as Cordish and Churchill Downs that have determined they cant compete with the top operators in the online space, regional casino companies who cant make the same investments into iCasino, and casino workers along with their unions.

Kim said he understands not wanting to expose a casinos customers to the online gaming space, where FanDuel Casino and DraftKings Casino claim 70% of the revenue in states with open markets. But he said he believes having a physical presence in a state does have its advantages, even in the online world.

You dont want to take your best customers and open them up to a place where you at best might get 5% back. If youre a physical operator and you complement your product, I think you can survive even with the large online players. They will win on scale for that online player. But if youre a physical operator, you have a natural database. Only 30% of our customers in our database only go to the casino. So we want to be able to address the other 70, and we might as well offer them a product.

Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg said iGaming is attractive to his company. But he understands why regional casinos in many states think differently.

As it expands within the country, the regional properties outside of for us Las Vegas, Reno, Tahoe, New Orleans, Atlantic City, the places that are convenience based, I think there is going to be a risk of cannibalization. If I go to a property three-to-four times a month in Columbus, Ohio, and now I can play my same slot machine at home, I think theres going to be cannibalization.

Whether or not an individual casino company supports internet gaming, people in the state will find a way to gamble online. They can go to unregulated offshore sites, or casinos can try to meet the evolving needs of their customers.

And, while online casino legalization has hit a lull, efforts wont stop until regulated iGaming is in as many states as sports betting.

Whether there is or is not cannibalization happening, digital gaming is happening, whether you like it or not, Pineault said. Your competitors, whether they be the FanDuels, the DraftKings, the Fanatics of the world or the other casinos down the street, theyre seeking legislation to expand gaming in the digital space. So I think what we have to do is be prepared for it.

Regular physical casino goers are an aging population. Through cross-marketing and promotions, casinos can attract younger adults to their properties.

Hard Rock International CEO Jim Allen is thinking down the road about how people will want to gamble in the future, and hes not sure its sitting at a slot machine.

If we think about if the people in this room are the customer of gaming in the future, the answer is definitely not. Its that 10-year-old or 12-year-old that can navigate around a smart phone a million times faster than probably anyone in this room. So what is going to be their form of entertainment 10-15 years from now? I think thats the part where you have to think about tech.

Reeg said optimism for the future of the industry centers around iGaming.

In iGaming as an industry as a whole, the growth is extraordinary. Youre growing 20-30-40% per year. Brick and mortar is flat. Its important to Caesars that we are part of what happens in digital, which is why weve made this investment.

Its obvious that online commerce has impacted physical properties in the past decades.

That makes online gaming an easy target for casino worker unions and casinos that hope to maintain the status quo.

But it also shows that progress cant be stopped. Companies that opposed online innovation in their space couldnt stop it from happening. They just disappeared, along with the jobs they provided.

So casinos are working to figure out how to use iCasino to remain prominent in their communities.

Pineault said that when its players arent at their casinos, they want them to remain part of the Mohegan brand.

Theres a difference between bricks and mortar and iGaming. For digital gaming, you do all your advertising on social media. Thats where their customers get their info, their offers. Thats what theyre following. This is an opportunity for us as bricks-and-mortar operators, as multipurpose operators, to use an omnichannel approach, to bring some of our bricks-and-mortar guests into the digital age and take some of those digital people who have never been to Connecticut to come to our property.

Pineault added that Mohegans most profitable online promotion was a giveaway to a Bruce Springsteen concert on the property.

Reeg said the Caesars Palace online app, launched in September, has outperformed projections.

From our standpoint, the iGaming business is particularly attractive. We have tens of millions of people in our Caesars reward database, and its really the most well-developed system in terms of generating cross-market play. Tapping into that digitally is the key, and in iCasino its a particularly distinct advantage for us.

States are accustomed to a certain amount of gambling revenue each year. Often, this revenue is earmarked for important areas such as education.

When they see decreasing casino revenues while other states expand their overall gambling take, state legislators wont care about possible cannibalization. Brick-and-mortar casino revenue could go down, but state revenue will still be going up by legalizing iGaming.

And when states have budgetary needs, which is coming as soon as the next recession, online casino will be a way to fill those holes without increasing taxes.

Kim pointed to what already is going on in the strongest iCasino markets:

If you look at New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan, which are the three largest fully penetrated casino states that also have full iGaming and sports, overall GGR in online gaming, sports and casinos, in the aggregate now are larger than casino gaming if you take those three states combined. That all happened in three years. You had GGR being flat for casino gaming, and then you had online gaming at 1x itself. I think its a great win for the states and the citizens, because they get the benefits of now collecting two forms of taxation.

Pineault knows that state legislator narratives will shift at some point.

I think, at the end of the day, when it comes to digital gaming, its happening and its going to continue to happen whether through our own volition, through our competitors demands or through state legislature tax demands.

Reeg said that online casino isnt going to grow from a grassroots effort like with sports betting. But, eventually, states will want it. Hes seen it many times before with evolutions in gaming.

What happens invariably as you look back for 30 years is the states run into budget issues and gaming becomes a popular way to fill budget gaps. I dont expect to see much in the next couple of years in terms of legalization but, as you get into 26 and [pandemic relief] money is gone and states are back on their own from a budget perspective, I think youre going to see momentum in iCasino.

Anew studypublished inJMIR Mental Healthsheds light on the promising role of virtual reality (VR) in treating major depressive disorder (MDD).

The research, led by Dr Margot Paul and team from Stanford University, unveiled the effectiveness of extended reality (XR)enhanced behavioral activation (XR-BA) in easing symptoms of depression.

MDD affects millions worldwide, and access to evidence-based psychotherapies remains a challenge for many. Traditional treatments often face barriers, prompting researchers to explore innovative solutions. XR, which includes VR, encompasses various immersive technologies involving computer-generated environments that blend physical and digital worlds. Leveraging the immersive power of XR, this study explored XR-BA as a potential game-changer in MDD treatment.

Dr Paul and team conducted a randomized controlled trial among 26 outpatients with MDD receiving remote care. Using a VR Meta Quest 2 headset, the participants engaged in simulated pleasant or mastery activities, including playing a magical VR board game, deciphering clues to solve puzzles, dancing to music, and playing mini golf alone or with friends.

Though the learning curve for using the headset was high, participants reported that the experience became more enjoyable and useful over time.

The results were comparable to traditional behavioral activation delivered via telehealth. Both XR-BA and traditional behavioral activation helped reduce the severity of depression in a significant way, as measured by the Patient Health Questionnaire9.

Moreover, the findings suggest that individuals in the XR-BA group might have experienced a heightened expectancy or placebo response because of the novelty of the technology and implicit beliefs regarding mental health treatment.

These results indicate that XR may help to de-stigmatize mental healthcare and reduce barriers to individuals seeking care. Clinicians could use XR as a treatment tool to help motivate clients to actively participate in their psychotherapy treatment by completing homework that is novel, fun, and accessible, remarked Dr Paul.

The study underscores the potential of VR, particularly XR-BA, in revolutionizing depression treatment by offering efficacy akin to traditional therapy.

This is a promising avenue for enhancing treatment outcomes and addressing barriers to accessing evidence-based psychotherapies for MDD, potentially expanding care for affected individuals.

Additionally, the exploration of XRs capacity to amplify placebo effects hints at the transformative possibilities of technology-assisted mental health therapies.

Abstract

Examining the Efficacy of Extended RealityEnhanced Behavioral Activation for Adults With Major Depressive Disorder: Randomized Controlled Trial

Background:

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a global concern with increasing prevalence. While many evidence-based psychotherapies (EBPs) have been identified to treat MDD, there are numerous barriers to patients accessing them. Virtual reality (VR) has been used as a treatment enhancement for a variety of mental health disorders, but few studies have examined its clinical use in treatingMDD.

Behavioral activation (BA) is a simple yet effective and established first-lineEBPforMDDthat has the potential to be easily enhanced and adapted withVR technology. A previous report by our group explored the feasibility and acceptability of VR-enhanced BA in a small clinical proof-of-concept pilot. This study examines the clinical efficacy of a more immersive extended reality (XR)enhanced BA (XR-BA) prototype. This is the first clinical efficacy test of anXR-BA protocol.

Objective:

This study examined whether XR-BA was feasible and efficacious in treatingMDDin an ambulatory telemedicine clinic.

Methods:

A nonblinded between-subject randomized controlled trial comparedXR-BAto traditionalBAdelivered via telehealth. The study used a previously established, brief 3-week, 4-session BA EBPintervention. The experimentalXR-BAparticipantswere directed to use a Meta Quest 2(Reality Labs) VRheadset to engage in simulated pleasant or mastery activities and were compared to a control arm, which used only real-life mastery or pleasant activities as between-session homework.

The Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ)9 was the primary outcome measure. Independent-sample and paired-samplettests (2-tailed) were used to determine statistical significance and confirmed using structural equation modeling.

Results:

Overall, 26 participants with MDD were randomized to receive either XR-BA (n=13, 50%) or traditional BA (n=13, 50%). The mean age of the 26 participants (n=6, 23% male; n=19, 73% female; n=1, 4% nonbinary or third gender) was 50.3 (SD 17.3) years.

No adverse events were reported in either group, and no substantial differences in dropout rates or homework completion were observed. XR-BA was found to be statistically noninferior to traditional BA (t18.6=0.28;P=.78). Both the XR-BA (t9=2.5;P=.04) and traditional BA (t10=2.3;P=.04) arms showed a statistically significant decrease in PHQ-9 and clinical severity from the beginning of session 1 to the beginning of session 4.

There was a significant decrease inPHQ-8 to PHQ-9scores between the phone intake and the beginning of session 1 for theXR-BAgroup (t11=2.6;P=.03) but not the traditionalBAgroup (t11=1.4;P=.20).

Conclusions:

This study confirmed previous findings that XR-BA may be a feasible, non-inferior, and acceptable enhancement to traditional BA. Additionally, there was evidence that supports the potential of XR to enhance expectation or placebo effects. Further research is needed to examine the potential of XR to improve access, outcomes, and barriers to MDD care.
