The global process spectroscopy market exhibited moderate growth during 2015-2020. Looking forward, the publisher expects the market to grow at a CAGR of around 7% during 2021-2026. Keeping in mind the uncertainties of COVID-19, we are continuously tracking and evaluating the direct as well as the indirect influence of the pandemic on different end use industries. These insights are included in the report as a major market contributor.

Process spectroscopy is a specialized technique used for analyzing the interaction between light, electromagnetic radiation and matter. Process spectroscopy uses various devices, such as benchtop, micro, portable and hyphenated spectroscopes, amplifiers, signal processors, display units and microscopes. They are commonly used for Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and Near-Infrared (NIR). Process spectroscopy involves splitting the radiation into a spectrum of its wavelengths to study electrons, protons and ions, and the generated collision energy. As a result, it finds extensive applications across various industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biological research and electronics.

Significant growth in the pharmaceutical industry is one of the key factors creating a positive outlook for the market. Drug manufacturers use process spectroscopes to evaluate the material porosity of a substance for quality control and to examine the state of the formulations. Moreover, the increasing demand for process analyzers across industries is providing a thrust to the market growth. Process spectroscopes are widely used in bioreactors, slipstreams, reaction vessels and large volumetric probes for drug manufacturing and water and wastewater treatment.

In line with this, the technique is also gaining immense preference among the masses for analyzing, monitoring and controlling various manufacturing processes and identifying defects in product materials. Other factors, including the widespread adoption of spectroscopic techniques in the forensic sector for the identification of organic compounds and substances at crime scenes, along with extensive research and development (R&D) activities, are anticipated to drive the market toward growth.

Column By Melissa Martin

Every person has a story. Every person is a story. Our world is laced and leathered together by stories about humanity; the rights and the wrongs. Threads of history wrap around and around and around a never-ending spool of narratives.

And while we anger at the silencing of stories in communist countries, we dare not fathom the suppressing of the pen in America. How can censorship take root and live in the United States, a great country built upon a foundation of civil liberties? By igniting and fanning fear during a pandemic, thats how.

We witnessed the shushing, hushing, and crushing of written words by the private sectors, Facebook and Twitter, concerning the 2020 presidential election. But, the flames of internet censorship continue to blaze.

Jessica Berg Wilsons husband said Twitter censored Jessicas obituary. Doctors diagnosed her withvaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia(VITT). And VITT is a rare, and sometimes fatal, blood-clotting condition triggered by COVID vaccines. How interesting that the Twitter fact-checkers failed to check the facts. Visitclarkcountytoday.comfor more of this story.

According to a recent article inThe Washington Post, YouTube is banning prominent anti-vaccine activists. Since when is questioning any medical information a crime? Since when is an opposite belief or opinion about medical treatments considered an enemy to democracy? Since megalomaniac Anthony Fauci rolled out his pandemic plan as the truth, the light, and the way for healing.

But, theres a sticky wicket. Social Media platforms are private companies and legally able to establish rules within their communities. And this includes censorship of content. Thats a big fly in the ointment.

Has Big Brother entered the Whitehouse? Is George Orwells dystopian 1949 novel,Nineteen Eighty-Four,coming to pass? Biden allied groups, including theDemocratic National Committee, are planning to engage fact-checkers more aggressively, and work with SMS carriers to dispel misinformation about vaccines that is sent over social media and text messages.Visitwww.politico.com.

What actions can citizens take to protect civil liberties?

Write to your state representatives. Write Letters to the Editor of your local and state newspapers. Join organizations that promote freedom of speech and freedom to write.

Thirty states are in the process of enacting laws against internet censorship.

The Stop Social Media Censorship Act passed Floridas Republican-majority House and Senate. DeSantis signed it into law, but a judge blocked it.

In Wisconsin, Assembly Bill 589 would prevent the censorship of media enterprises based on the content of their publication or broadcast.Assembly Bill 530 would prevent the censorship of posts by or about political candidates and elected officials.

Liz Truss insists conversion therapy ban will ‘protect free speech’ – PinkNews

Liz Truss has confirmed that the governments conversion therapy ban will include religious and free speech exemptions, and a dangerous loophole for consenting adults.

Last month, government finally published its consultation document for a conversion therapy ban, but its content was alarming.

It proposed exemptions in law for religious conversion practices, like prayer andeveryday religious practice, leaving those in faith communities especially vulnerable to legal conversion therapy.

It also created a loophole for consenting adults, despite the widely accepted legal concept that people cannot consent to serious harm.

On Wednesday (24 November), Truss was asked by Labour MP Kate Osborne in the House of Commons to confirm if the governments conversion therapy ban will cover non-physical conversion practices in religious settings, including prayer and whether she would remove the dangerous consent loophole.

Despite the outrage over gaping holes in the government conversion therapy consultation document since its release, Truss stood by the loopholes.

She said: What is important is that we make sure people are no coerced into conversion therapy. But its also important that we protect freedom of speech, the ability for adults to consent, and the freedom to express [religious] teachings.

For many, Liz Truss comments slashed all hope that the governments proposed legislation could be developed into a comprehensive conversion therapy ban.

One Twitter user asked: Begs the question whats the point of the consultation if their minds are made up?

Makes one wonder if the only point of the consultation is use it to give authority to these views, wrote another Twitter user, should it be hijacked by anti-trans/anti-LGBT+ voices.

Another person tweeted: If loopholes remain, then you are doing very little to stop conversion therapy.

You are ensuring vulnerable people are still at risk to these practices it is wrong, the government knows it is, and they dont care.

If you had a Parler account, you need to remove it now – Komando

Posted: at 5:13 am

Facebook is the largest social media site in the world, with billions of monthly users. Its also been subject to network outages, data breaches and shady privacy practices. More recently, Facebook has come under fire for putting growth above online safety and allowing misinformation to propagate on the platform.

You can leave Facebook, but we understand if youre worried about losing the things you shared with friends and families over the years. The good news is you can take most of it with you before you go. Tap or click here for instructions on downloading your entire Facebook history and deleting your account for good.

There are, of course, alternatives to Facebook, and one of them made a name by preaching freedom of speech. Parler has had a bit of a rollercoaster ride since its introduction, and just recently, Kim Komando experienced one of the social networks harmful practices. Spam text messages.

Parler launched in 2018 as an anti-Twitter platform for free speech, though the two social networks are functionally similar. However, unlike Twitter and Facebook, Parler doesnt use employees or third parties to fact-check and regulate posts. The platforms community enforces guidelines, which are based on the FCCs obscenity definitions.

Shortly after launch, Parler became the countrys number one downloaded news app. The site saw another uptick when former President Trump was banned from Twitter and Facebook, and rumors circulated that he had a Parler account.

Learn the tech tips and tricks only the pros know.

Parler had a taste of the banhammer when it was removed from the Google Play Store when users were found promoting violence after the U.S. Capitol riot. Apple followed suit, removing Parler from its App Store. Parler worked with Apple and was reinstated to the App Store a few months later. It has yet to see a return to Google Play.

Social media account or otherwise, it should stick when you opt out of emails or text messages. Apparently, Parler has been text spamming, as Kim Komando knows first-hand. She had an account that she all but forgot about until a few days ago when she received a text about Parler alerts.

She replied STOP to opt out but got another text two days later. She once again responded with STOP, hoping that would be the end of it. But that may not be enough.

This brings to light something crucial for any account you have. If youre not using it, delete it. Dont simply remove the app from your phone. Go into the app and delete your account.

Thanksgiving Day is just as complex and layered as the casseroles consumed at dinners taking place across the nation in observance of the holiday. As millions of Americans celebrate family, friends, and unwavering gratitude, Indigenous Peoples are tasked withrefocusing the narrative to center the genocide of their ancestors. Societys refusal to acknowledge and account for intergenerational harm contributes to the ongoing socio-economic disparities plaguing their communities, today.

As many as 15 million Native Americanpeople are estimated to have been livingin North America when ChristopherColumbus arrived in 1492. Toward the end ofthe 19th century, a mere 238,000 remained. As thousands of Indigenous women and children continue going missing, and activists face incarceration for protecting the environmentsolidarity to Indigenous communities is more critical now, than ever.

Throughout American history, they have survived over 1500wars, ambushes, raids and seizures all sanctioned by the United States government. Yet their bold love, indomitable resilience, ancestral connection and steady pursuit of healing are disrupting the colonial norms shaping the current social ecology.

These 9 Indigenous activists, educators, and healers are shattering common misconceptions about the origins of Thanksgiving and Indigenous history.

Thanksgiving is a complicated holiday for many people, but especially for Native folks. We have for centuries been presented a narrative that eludes to Natives having given the land they steward over to colonizers when in fact that interaction was bloody and traumatic with lasting effect today. I encourage the non-native population to embrace Thanksgiving as a day to be thankful for your relatives, and to drop the legend of an imaginary peaceful dinner between Pilgrims and Indians. Football: All Whites face nervous wait on Oceania format for World Cup qualifiers – New Zealand Herald

New Zealand Football got the result they wanted in Saturday's Intercontinental World Cup playoff draw though there could yet be a sting in the tail.

At a ceremony at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, the top Oceania qualifier was paired with a team from CONCACAF, with the Asian representatives drawn against South America.

As exclusively revealed by the Herald last week, the matches will be played on a single-leg basis in 2022, staged on June 13 and 14 in Qatar.

Years of planning and preparation hinged on which ball was plucked out of the glass bowl, and unlike four years ago, this time it fell the right way from an Oceania perspective.

It was crucial to avoid the South American confederation, with six teams ranked inside the world's top 25, plus Paraguay (43) and Ecuador (46).

Facing that World Cup route is generally a road to nowhere for Oceania teams.

They have only prevailed once across five attempts (1990, 1994, 2002, 2006 and 2017) - when Australia's golden generation edged Uruguay on penalties in 2006

On the surface, facing the fourth-placed team from North or Central America is a more palatable prospect, as that confederation doesn't have the same depth, though there could be a twist.

The final stage of CONCACAF qualifying is the most competitive in years, thanks partly to the emergence of Canada, who are currently unbeaten and top the standings (16 points) after eight of 14 rounds, ahead of USA (15 points) and Mexico (14), Panama (14) and Costa Rica (9).

Mexico haven't started well, held by Canada at home then losing to Les Rouges for the first time in 45 years earlier this month.

Oceania's representative will be underdogs whoever the opposition, but facing Panama (world No 63) or Costa Rica (49) is a vastly different proposition to heavyweights like USA (12) or Mexico (14).

A similar scenario unfolded in 2013. New Zealand had expected to face Costa Rica, Honduras or Panama, but instead ended up with a trip to the Azteca Stadium.

The final piece of the jigsaw will be decided next Tuesday (NZT), when the draw and format is unveiled for the eight-nation OFC tournament in Qatar next March.

The qualifying was initially planned across a series of windows before Covid struck, and compressing that into one block has been a major challenge.

OFC's original plan was for two pools of four teams, followed by a semifinal and a final. That would necessitate five separate matchdays stretching across two-and-a-half weeks, which doesn't fit inside the current window (March 21-30).

OFC have tried to extend the window but the Herald understands that has been problematic, given the importance of that stage of the club season.

A proposed alternative format is three knockout games (quarter-final, semifinal and final), which would be logistically much easier, but that isn't believed to be favoured by the majority of Oceania nations.

NZF are concerned about the prospect of an elongated tournament, which would make it almost impossible to have their full squad for the duration, as clubs would be reluctant to release players for the best part of three weeks.

"OFC are liaising with FIFA about a window extension but whether or not that will be granted remains to be seen," NZF chief executive Andrew Pragnell told the Herald on Sunday.

"If it's not and you see a format that lands outside the window that'll throw a bunch of challenges at us. Because obviously, with a side that is fully made up of professionals, accessing those players becomes a bit of a challenge."

New Zealand would be disproportionately affected, with only a handful of overseas-based players among the other Oceania nations.

Pragnell was diplomatic but feels the sporting integrity of the competition is important, given what is at stake.

"Ensuring all teams can get their players, that's a pretty important part," said Pragnell. "For World Cup qualifiers to be played outside the window is a challenge."

New Zealand sign big-time deal with Ford: "A significant investment" – Football in Oceania

Posted: at 5:11 am

New Zealand Football and car manufacturer Ford have signed a three-year deal, with the focus being on womens and girls football.

The partnership represents a significantinvestment in the Football Ferns and the girls and womens game from the elite level right down to grassroots, a statement on the NZF website read.

In addition, to support the growth of women and girls across the game, Ford will also become the naming partner of the Women in Leadership Programme, the Community Leadership Programme, Female Coach Mentorship Programme and Future Ferns Domestic Programme (FFDP).

The deal also includes naming rights for the womens senior national team, following in the footsteps of several of their pacific neighbours, which will see the womens senior team be known as the Ford Football Ferns.

Ford will also become an official partner of the womens National League Championship.

We are especially pleased by Fords determination to be involved with the Football Ferns ahead of the home FIFA Womens World Cup, as well as in the womens game from top to bottom, says New Zealand Footballs Brand & Partnerships General Manager James Wear in the statement.

This partnership headlines with the naming rights to the Football Ferns, the first time a New Zealand Football national team has had a naming rights partner, but it also filters right through the development system. The womens game continues to grow rapidly and will explode by 2023. Ford have always recognised the opportunity for this presents for partners and we are excited to begin this journey with them
