Should I have the flu shot if I have the coronavirus vaccine? – AS English
Posted: at 2:02 am
Flu season is approaching and despite a large drop in flu cases due to covid-19, people should still get their jabs to prevent another viral disease being in mass circulation. In an interview with CNNs The Situation Room, the White House chief medical advisor Dr Anthony Fauci recommended that people get the vital shots as soon as they can.
What you should do is get it as soon as you can and in the most expeditious manner, Fauci told host Wolf Blitzer. If that means going in and getting the flu shot in one arm the covid shot in the other, that's perfectly fine. There's nothing wrong with that at all."
He continued: In fact, that might make it more convenient and more likely that you would actually go get both of them if you can do it conveniently in one visit. So, whatever it takes to get both of them, go ahead and do it. If it's one visit, it's perfectly fine.
A British study by the University of Bristol published on Thursday found that side effects were not serious in tests with three flu vaccines and either the Pfizer or AstraZeneca shot.
"This is a really positive step which could mean fewer appointments for those who require both vaccines," chief investigator Rajeka Lazarus said.
Data from John Hopkins University shows that deaths in the US from covid-19 have surpassed 700,000, the highest in the world. The world also passed the grim milestone of 5 million deaths from the virus.
Reaching 700,000 deaths is a tragic and completely avoidable milestone. We had the knowledge and the tools to prevent this from happening, and unfortunately politics, lack of urgency and mistrust in science got us here, John Brownstein, an epidemiologist at Boston childrens hospital, told ABC News.
At present, the US is on its way out of another peak in cases, with the highest day of cases for months being September 7. It saw more than 300,000 new cases in one day alone.
Despite the relative lull in cases at the start of October, seasonal cold weather in the winter will force people back indoors where the virus spreads easier. This is compounded by the overall vaccination rate in the country at just 56%. For comparison, Canada has more than 71% of people vaccinated, while the UK has more than 65%. There is every chance there will be another spike this Christmas.

Some Capital Gazette shooting victims say they werent the only targets, 1st Amendment was – WTOP
Posted: at 2:00 am
Some of the victims who survived the Capital Gazette shooting say they also think something bigger and broader was attacked too the First Amendment.
In literal terms, theres no denying that the five people killed inside the Capital Gazette newsroom three years ago were targeted specifically for being employed by the newspaper.
But after having time to reflect, some of the victims who survived say they also think something bigger and broader was attacked too the First Amendment something they worry is under continued attack today.
Former Capital Gazette reporter Selene San Felice, who now works for Axios in Florida, said it was an attack on the First Amendment, but the First Amendment is still being attacked even if people arent shooting us, she said.
She and photographer Paul Gillespie cited the low wages many community news outlets pay as well as the steep decline in jobs and publications that still exist as ongoing threats to the news industry as a whole, and the First Amendment in particular.
Local news is so important to this country, Gillespie said. Were in the hearts of these neighborhoods all across our country telling stories of our neighbors. Us closing down as much as we have, like all across the country losing journalists, photojournalists, its a great loss and once were gone its going to be sad because no one is going to be out there covering your kids football games or community issues, the city council meetings and all that stuff.
San Felice said one reason shes still in the journalism industry is to help honor the spirits of the five people who were killed, including her former editors and mentors Rob Hiaasen and Gerald Fischman.
A shooter cant take down a newspaper, she said. Newspapers will always be around in some form, journalists will always be around in some form so no matter many of us you kill there will always be more of us to tell the truth.
Anne Arundel County States Attorney Anne Colt Leitess said, in her opinion, truth is what was really attacked.
The First Amendment allows people to say things the Capital did and the problem is the defendant could not handle the truth and he wanted to twist it into something else, she said.
Journalism is an opportunity for truths to be told, she said. I can see why people think this is about journalism. It is about truth whether its someone speaking the truth to someones face, on television, in the newspaper, the truth was attacked that day.

Judge: Sheriff violated First Amendment with jail threat over COVID posts – Wisconsin Newspaper Association
Posted: at 2:00 am
A federal judge last week ruled the Marquette County sheriff violated the First Amendment rights of a teenage girl with whom he threatened arrest over her social media posts about COVID-19, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The posts, which Amyiah Cohoon shared on her Instagram account in March 2020, detailed her experience with what she believed to be a case of COVID-19. Cohoon had been hospitalized shortly after returning from a school band trip to Florida. Though she tested negative, Cohoon said her doctors believed she likely had the virus previously.
A member of the Marquette County Sheriffs Office visited the Cohoon home on March 27 and said Sheriff Joseph Konrath had ordered the posts to be taken down due to the lack of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county. Cohoon complied but later sued the sheriff with support from the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty.
U.S. District Court Judge Brett Ludwig on Sept. 24 issued his decision, writing that the First Amendment is not a game setting for the government to toggle offer and on. It applies in times of tranquility and times of strife. While defendants in this case may have believed their actions served the greater good, that belief cannot insulate them. Demanding a 16-year-old remove protected speech from her Instagram account is a First Amendment violation.

Corpo
Few leave the corporate world with their lives - fewer still with their souls intact. You've been there - you've bent the rules, exploited secrets and weaponized information. There's no such thing as a fair game, only winners and losers.
Corpo, or Corporate, is one of the three lifepaths available to players in Cyberpunk 2077.
Corpo, along with Streetkid and Nomad, is one of the lifepath choices in Cyberpunk 2077 that dictates V's background during the game.
Corpos are most at home in the board room after rising the corporate ladder of the Arasaka corporation. They are familiar with doing whatever it takes, often at the expense of social comfort, to progress further in business. As such, this can give the benefit of seeing through people and being able to read between the lines when trying to do business with them, whether they are part of the corporate world or not.
During the prologue V starts off as an up-and-coming employee (ID#: NC770416) working in the counterintelligence division of Arasaka, currently tasked with cleaning up a damaging leak about an incident in Frankfurt that has jeopardized Arasaka's standing with the European Space Agency. V's immediate superior is Arthur Jenkins, who resents Director of Special Operations Susan Abernathy for stealing his promotion. The story takes a turn to the unexpected, as a layered series of events lead to competitive backstabbing and a complete eye-opening turn of fortune and potential reformation of the protagonist once they survive it.

Cyberpunk 2077 Joytoy locations: Where to find them | PC Gamer
Posted: at 2:00 am
Looking for all the Cyberpunk 2077 Joytoy locations? Even if you've only spent a short amount of time in the dystopian megapolis, you've probably seen enough to know that the game has an 18+ rating for a reason. And while there are a number of Cyberpunk 2077 romance options available, perhaps you're looking for a no-strings encounterthat's where Joytoys come in.
Joytoys are Night City's not-so-subtle name for prostitutes. There are plenty of NPCs that may try to chat you up at a bar or sex workers you may come across during missions, but these Joytoys are the only ones that will take your hard-earned eddies in return for a quick hook-up.
So if you're looking to pay for your pleasure in Night City (hey, I'm not here to judge), read on to discover the Joytoy locations in Cyberpunk 2077.
Despite appearances, there are actually only four Joytoys in Night City that V is able to interact with and trigger a brief sex scene upon payment. There are two male and two female Joytoys and all are bisexual, so no matter your V's gender or sexual orientation, Night City has you covered. Hell, maybe you just want the chance to show off the pubic hair that you agonised over during the Cyberpunk 2077 character customization at the start of the game.
Two of the joytoys can be found on Jig-Jig Street in Westbrook and can be accessed pretty early on in the game. They are marked on the map with a lips icon.
The male Joytoy is just to your left when you pass under the Jig-Jig Street sign when you enter the area from the north. The female Joytoy is a little further onfollow the pedestrian walkway as it curves to the right and you'll find her leaning against a red-topped barricade, just as the walkway narrows.
Both of these will cost you 100 eddies and will trigger a short sex scene as soon as you splash the cash. You can return to either of them as often as you like tooas long as you have the stamina and the eddies to pay for their services.
There are two more Joytoys to be found in Night City, but they're only accessible in Act 2. Once you've completed a good chunk of Johnny Silverhand's side quests and finished the questline which culminates in the Kerry Eurodyne romanceor notyou'll be able to access these high-end Joytoys.
You can find them in Westbrook, the same area as the first two, though a little south of Jig-Jig Street, close to the Dark Matter fast travel point. You'll automatically gain access to the Dark Matter club they like to hang out in during the Off the Leash side job and you'll be able to access the club from that point on. These two are pretty pricey though, at $3000.

Trump lawyers cite First Amendment in asking judge to force Twitter to restart his account – NewsNation Now
Posted: at 2:00 am
NEW YORK (AP) Former President Donald Trump has asked a federal judge in Florida to force Twitter to restore his account, which the companysuspended in Januaryfollowing the deadly storming of the U.S. Capitol.
Trumps attorneys on Friday filed a motion in U.S. District Court in Miami seeking a preliminary injunction against Twitter and its CEO, Jack Dorsey. They argue that Twitter is censoring Trump in violation of his First Amendment rights, according to the motion.
Twitter declined to comment Saturday on Trumps filing.
The company permanentlybanned Trumpfrom its platform days after his followers violently stormed the Capitol building to try to block Congress from certifying Joe Bidens presidential win. Twitter cited concerns that Trump would incite further violence. Prior to the ban, Trump had roughly 89 million followers on Twitter.
Trump was also suspended fromFacebookand Googles YouTube over similar concerns that he would provoke violence. Facebooks ban will last two years, until Jan. 7, 2023, after which the company will review his suspension. YouTubes ban is indefinite.
In July, Trumpfiled lawsuitsin the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against all three tech companies and their CEOs, claiming that he and other conservatives have been wrongfully censored. The motion for a preliminary injunction was filed as part of Trumps case against Twitter.

Yes, You Should Buy Cyberpunk 2077 For $33 On PlayStation – Forbes
Posted: at 2:00 am
Cyberpunk 2077
Ive just been made aware of the fact that after over six months from being banned from the PlayStation Store, Cyberpunk is not only back, as it has been for a couple months now, but its actually on sale on PlayStation for a steep discount.
For whatever reason, CDPR decided to price Cyberpunk 2077 at $50 on the PlayStation store, maybe as some sort of apology/extra draw to players once it returned after the ban. But now that has been further discounted, with a third knocked off that price. That means Cyberpunk 2077 is all the way down to $33.49, pretty much half what youd pay for a normal $60 game. This price is live until 10/14/21.
Im often asked whether you should buy this game or that game on sale, if its worth it or not. And despite my extensive criticism of Cyberpunk over the past year, ultimately yes, I would recommend picking it up at this price. I do think the value is there for a number of reasons.
Cyberpunk 2077
1. The game is indeed in a much better state than it was at launch, on both PS4 and PS5. It is never going to run well on a PS4, but its not borderline unplayable like it used to be, and I know a number of people have made it through on their base PS4s just fine at this point. On PS5, it runs perfectly okay (youre running the PS4 Pro version, upconverted), and thousands of bugs have been fixed since launch (though many remain).
2. You are also purchasing the next-gen release of the game for $33 here. CDPR has promised that the next-gen version of Cyberpunk, the dedicated PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, would be free upgrades. So here, youre only paying $33 for two copies of the game, where over on Xbox, its still listed for $60. Not bad.
3. I would say 60% of my main issues with Cyberpunk are related to how CDPR has handled the release, not the quality of the game itself. CDPR outright lied about the games performance on last-gen consoles, and has said unbelievable things like they just didnt catch the (thousands) of bugs people were experiencing in testing. But the game itself? While yes, I think its lacking in many areas (life paths, police AI), there is a core story here full of twists, turns and memorable characters that I genuinely think has some of the best RPG writing of the past generation. This is an interesting, engaging world and Cyberpunk has created a new stable of classic characters from Judy to Panam to River to Jackie to even V herself, who is surprisingly great despite being a first person character. I think theres a lot to like within the game, despite its problem. $33 worth of stuff, certainly.
Cyberpunk 2077
So yeah, thats my recommendation. I will keep badgering CDPR until they deliver what they promised and full fix the game and flesh it out, but simultaneously, I can also recommend the game in its current state, for that price. For a fresh run, however, you may want to buy the $33 copy now, and wait until the PS5 version comes out (if you own a PS5) for a better first experience, though we do no have a date on that yet besides maybe 2021.
