The ACT’s four-week lockdown extension could test the goodwill of Canberrans – ABC News

Posted: September 16, 2021 at 6:30 am

Last week, ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr foreshadowed an announcementthat would outline a plan for the coming weeks.

Canberrans, more than a month into a lockdown due to the circulating Delta variant, anticipated some news of a light at the end of the tunnel.

With new daily casesstill being reported and, among them, people who were infectious in the community, there wasperhaps a hidden resignation that the territory's lockdown would not be lifted on Friday as flagged.

But there was hope that the sacrifices and efforts of Canberrans would be rewarded in some way.

Instead, yesterday's announcement turned the territory's original seven-day "short, sharp" responseinto a nine-week lockdown.

ABC News: Ian Cutmore

After confirming the territory had recorded 22 new cases of COVID-19, Mr Barr went on to announce that Canberra's lockdown would be extended by four weeks until October 15.

There was some minor easing of restrictions outdoor social and recreational sport with up to fivepeople can recommence from Saturday, while small businesses thatare currently permitted to operate a click-and-collect or delivery service will be able to have up to fivepeople in the business at any one time.

In-person house inspections will also start back up, limited to just household members and one real estate agent.

But it was bad news for parents who had hoped for a return to face-to-face learning for the start of term four. Instead, came the news that for most students remote learning would continue for at least the first four weeks of next term.

It's a deep blow for families who suffered through a disrupted 2020 and are now looking down the barrel of home learning for much of the remainder of this year. And a deeper blow for those students who struggle to cope without the social interaction with their peers.

It was also a blow for Canberrans more broadly, who had hoped their compliance would mean they could come out of lockdown where New South Wales and Victoria had not.

What Mr Barr had earmarked as a "plan" for the territory's lockdown waslimited in its scope, dubbed a "roadmap to nowhere" by the Canberra Liberals.

Unlike the leaders of NSW and Victoria, the Chief Ministerdid not give an indication of what might change when the ACT reachedthe milestone of70 per cent fully vaccinated.

But Mr Barr has always been reluctant to hang much on that 70 per cent figure he has reminded ACT residents time and time again thatthe Delta variant would still be destructive at that point.

Instead, he has said the number to aim for was "80 per cent and beyond".

With just over 50 per cent of Canberra's population vaccinated, there isstilla way to go.

Mr Barr has also repeatedly warned that Canberrans should expect to endure a "tough spring",but also that he expectedthe territory to enjoy an economic reprieve in the summer when freedoms would be much greater.

With the lockdown now extended until mid-October, the gap in knowledge for the ACT is November, and what that month will look like.

ABC News: Ian Cutmore

The ACT's plateauing case numbers had offered up hope that maybe, just maybe, the ACT would be able to achieve the elusive goal of zero active COVID-19 cases in the territory.

But the government's announcement on Tuesdayimplied that hope was fading.

"We'd all like zero, but I think increasingly, with the examples in New South Wales and Victoria, that aiming for zeroinfectious in the community is a really good first start," Chief Health Officer Kerryn Coleman said.

"I would provide caution that this may be the start of what we may be working towards, that we will be seeing a steady level of cases continuing to move forward."

Mr Barr confirmed that the latestcase numbers withat least 13 people spendingsome time in the community while infectious "hadnot been a good day on that performance objective".

Fronting up to daily press conferences for over a month, Mr Barr has been true to his word.

He told ACT residents it would be tough, and it will be.

Yesterday, in lieu of painting Canberrans a picture of what life after lockdown would look like, Mr Barr confirmed that the only light at the end of the tunnelcontinuedto be through increasing the vaccination rate.

"This next month is a period of uncertainty and the next few weeks will be challenging," Mr Barr said.

"What we are certain of though is that a highly vaccinated Canberra is a safer Canberra. This is the safest path forward that will lead to a safer Christmas, a safer summer holiday period, and a safer 2022.

Unlike last year, when Canberrans were delivereda detailed set of steps out of lockdown, this time they only have the prospect of a summer in which they can hopefully gather withloved ones.

It is this lack of clarity that will make the spring miserable for some, for Canberrans have shown they are happy to forgo a great deal if they know what the future holds.

The reaction on social media to yesterday's announcement was one charged with emotion manyare angry for that very reason.

So far, the ACT government has relied on the celebrated goodwill of its people.

The question is, will it stand the test of another lockdown extension?

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch Makes Its Roads Wet Again – Kotaku

Posted: at 6:29 am

For a minute there, Cyberpunk 2077 wasnt wet enough. Today, it is, thanks to an update that restores missing water effects in the troubled open-world shooter.

Cyberpunk 2077 is locked in a tidal pattern. CD Projekt Red will roll out a patch, fix some stuff, and in the process, break some other stuff. Following the games big August update, rainwater failed to make surfaces to look wet. Todays update, patch 1.31, technically fixed that. In fact, surfaces are wetter than ever.

The 1.3 patch, which was the third major update for the infamously buggy game, brought numerous improvements, but it also drastically changed the water effects, specifically how surfaces looked before and after rain. Apparently, it was an issue with the ridiculously named Wet Surfaces System.

Todays update isnt just about making water more wet, though. It also purports to address a litany of smaller issues, including busted reload times and a miscalculated height for the games charged jump. Further, it fixes non-progression bugs in certain quests. Youll now be able to talk to the nomads and get things started in With A Little Help From My Friends. And Beat on the Brat wont suddenly restart.

Many are familiar with Cyberpunk 2077s troubled history by now. It launched in rough shape on last-gen consoles, which CDPR hid from reviewers by only allowing PC copies to go out ahead of release. This led to refund requests from dissatisfied players, and Sony pulled the game from the PlayStation store before re-adding it, albeit with a disclaimer about its rocky performance on PlayStation 4.

G/O Media may get a commission

Amid the turmoil, CDPR said it would drop several major patches for the game: one in January, another in February (it came out in March), and a third down the line. This ended up being the 1.3 patch that fans were waiting for through the spring and much of summer, only to laser-focus on the water effects. #Puddlegate all over again.

Cyberpunk 2077 Easter egg gives a small pat on the back to whoever finds it – GamesRadar+

Posted: at 6:29 am

A Cyberpunk 2077 player has discovered an Easter egg that praises whoever finds it.

Discovered by u/Feeltherush2132 on Reddit when exploring the Santo Domingo area in the game, the self-aware Easter egg is just a line of text which reads: "Well Done." Which were going to go ahead and assume means "well done for finding this" considering its tricky placement.

The Easter egg was apparently found using the 'flying katana glitch' in a secret area located in the Arasaka Industrial Park. At the top of a large Arasaka branded building, players will find two chests as well as the message of congratulations which appears as you walk closer to it. It is apparently also possible to find this Easter egg without the use of glitches; however, players' parkour skills need to be top-notch to do so.

Cyberpunk 2077 recently received a new update that overhauled many different aspects of the game. The 1.3 update - which went live last month - made changes such as improving frame rate issues, bug fixes, and other quality of life features like upgrading Cyberpunk 2077s minimap so that players are now able to see more and navigate the city better. Which has been a must-have for players pretty much as early as the games release.

Not only this, but Cyberpunk 2077 also got some free DLC recently - alongside the 1.3 update - in the form of a new skin for Keanu Reeves character Johnny Silverhand, some new jackets for playable character V, and a new car - an Archer Quartz "Bandit" to be precise.

Cant get enough of Night Citys hidden references? Take a look at our list of Cyberpunk 2077 Easter eggs.

Cyberpunk Shelby GT500KR and 429 Cobra Jet Mustang Have a Growling Widebody Meet – autoevolution

Posted: at 6:29 am

Ever since it was born for the 1964 and a half model year, the Ford Mustang has been a bottomless inspiration reservoir for Blue Oval aficionados, critics and the common folk alike. Naturally, in modern times, its also a muse for pixel masters.Take virtual artist Rostislav Prokop, aka rostislav_prokopon social media, for example. He casually likes to circle back to some of its virtual Ford Mustang creations whenever it seems fitting. And, just to warrant the added work time, he doesnt just play with one but instead opts to CGI-splash together a couple of its Mustang projects against the same backdrop.

Better yet, both are allowed to idle-growl at will because this time around we are dealing with a video rendering. Sure, theres much more work and CGI mastery involved with making these appear life-like, but we still appreciate the effort. Besides, the Mustang puppet master didnt just take a couple of its past creations and threw them side-by-side without looking back.

Instead, we can see a little bit of variation on past themes. As far as we can tell, the Mustang standing on the left side is a remastered variation in dark green of the recent Cyberpunk 2077-inspired take on the mighty 1968 Shelby Cobra GT500KR. The second one is a bit trickier to identify, although at the front it resembles the lines of his previous 71-73 Mustang Mach 1 incarnations.

Still, the CGI expert gives away its real identity in the description hashtags, so we know its a dark gray 429 Cobra Jet Shelby Mustang. Irrespective of their real-life personas, both have been copiously modified into CGI tuning wonders. The custom work includes restomod LED lights all over, massive widebody aerodynamic kits, as well as a bagged stance to support the menacing atmosphere.

As for whats tucked under the hood, thats anyones guess... Although, judging by the virtual soundtrack, we can only think of something thats V8, as old school as possible, and packed with lots of aftermarket enhancements.

Upcoming Cyberpunk Games To Keep An Eye On in Late 2021 and Beyond – Fiction Talk

Posted: at 6:29 am

The bright and vibrant worlds of the cyberpunk genre promise experiences that gamers really wont find elsewhere. Laden with futuristic tech, basked in the glow of ample neon and riddled with some truly fantastical imagery, cyberpunk games send us through wormholes of imagination into glowing metropolises, seedy undergrounds, and everything in between.

While there are some stellar cyberpunk games out there that everyone needs to dive into, the future holds anticipated titles that players will want to follow. Take your pick from the list below, and youre sure to find hours of entertainment, courtesy of the brightest minds in indie and AAA gaming.

Launching as one of a few must-play cyberpunk games of late 2021, Greylock Studios Severed Steel promises a multilayered first-person adventure set in a stylish, destructible world. Its hard not to notice just how sleek and clean Severed Steel looks, but all of that gets reduced to rubble once the bullets start flying.

With its bullet time mechanic, Severed Steel is lining up to be the game that all streamers will aim to master. Its a content goldmine once players understand how to best control protagonist Steel to string together combos and leave behind a wake of bodies. To complicate things, Steel isnt big on carrying ammo. Every weapon found is only as useful as its round capacity. Once its empty, its on to the next futuristic firearm.

Greylock Studio promises dynamic battles that never repeat thanks to the games unscripted, squad-based AI. This ensures every playthrough is unique and there is no simple going through the motions.

Severed Steel is releasing on Steam on September 17, 2021, and will land on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch at a later date this year.

Its hard not to look at Vigilance 2099 and question whether its hoping to capitalize on the mistakes of Cyberpunk 2077. However, developer Envoidant Studios instead pulled inspiration from Blade Runner and the unreleased sequel to Prey (2006) to bring this story of bounty hunting in a neon world to computers (and possibly consoles).

There hasnt been much in the way of gameplay reveals, save for an eight-minute segment that showcased mechanics like combat, (aerial) driving, and even bounty hunting. Players control a fed-turned-bounty hunter with the know-how to hunt and take down the citys most nefarious criminals. Prey City is a living, breathing world full of AI characters and plenty of space to explore from the comfort of your flying car. Its the cyberpunk world our future was promised to be, realized in beautiful HD.

Vigilance 2099 can be played in third and first-person perspectives, allowing players to traverse the multi-leveled environment in the way most comfortable for them. And there is a lot to explore, whether youre scaling buildings or sticking to the crowded streets.

Vigilance 2099 currently has no official release date, but lead developer NasNakarus actively updates followers on the progress.

2022 should be a good year for cyberpunk games thanks to the planned launch of Replaced, a 2.5D retro experience set in a society that has seen better days. As R.E.A.C.H., an AI in a human body, players navigate Phoenix-City during an alternate version of the 1980s. Gone are the big hair bands and leg warmers. Here are the deadly outlaws and dangerous government corruption.

Replaced is the debut release of Sad Cat Studios, and the developer has been keeping things pretty close to the chest. While an official gameplay reveal hasnt happened yet beyond the initial teaser, Sad Cat noted that players would help guide R.E.A.C.H. on his quest to feel and be more human.

The minimal gameplay shown in the trailer shows R.E.A.C.H. traversing dangerous environments in platforming segments and bashing on bad guys with a stylized blend of melee and ranged combat. Its difficult to gauge whats player-controlled and whats scripted, but R.E.A.C.H. may have some slick moves at his disposal to help dispatch his foes.

Replaced is currently slated for a 2022 release date and will release on Steam, Epic Game Store, and Xbox Game Pass.

A name like Turbo Overkill promises a game thats over-the-top, full of insane action, and relentless. Digging deeper into Trigger Happy Interactives chaotic cyberpunk first-person shooter, its quite clear it will live up to its name.

Enter Paradise, a city overrun by augmented fiends. As Johnny Turbo, players have the skills and tools needed to return everything to normal. Or, at least as normal as Paradise gets. The announcement trailer was heavy on firearms, showcasing a bevy of different weapons that will aid Johnny on his quest. Most impressively is Johnnys chainsaw-leg, an augment that drives home just how ludicrous Turbo Overkill aims to be.

While the concept may read closer to the insanity of Doom or Serious Sam, the visual aesthetic is 100% cyberpunk. There is still plenty more to be seen from Turbo Overkill, which will hopefully confirm some vehicle segments that seem to be in the reveal trailer.

Trigger Happy Interactive currently has Turbo Overkill slated as releasing SOONTM. The game is expected to launch ambitiously on all current and prior-generation consoles, as well as Steam.

Return to the classic age of the PlayStation One with Samurai Unicorn, a game inspired by the visual style of early-era 3D gaming. That doesnt take away from the games beauty, especially since developer Its Got Stealth has created a cyberpunk world thats equal parts pixelated and visually appealing.

In Samurai Unicorn, players follow Klo and Unicorn as they go up against the Dream Eaters in the city of Sydney3. At the core of most cyberpunk games is a corrupt government and dystopian civilization, and both are heavily present in this third-person action-adventure.

Its Got Stealth promises an explorable world with interactive AI and cinematic storytelling that encourages curiosity. At least when youre not too busy engaged with the many different foes standing in your way. There is still much to learn about this stylized cyberpunk game, but the play on nostalgia absolutely drums up anticipation.

Samurai Unicorn doesnt have a release date but is likely launching in 2022.

The ideas behind cyberpunk games assure that players will constantly be treated to new and exciting futuristic releases. While these five represent a small fraction of whats on the horizon, theyre among the most promising titles well get our hands on soon.

Anyways, if youre looking for some gift cards to help with your gaming needs like Discord Nitro subscriptions or Steam Wallet Codes, just head over to the OffGamers site right here. Were pretty sure that youll need some help in anticipation of these upcoming cyberpunk games!

If you enjoyed this list make sure to check out some of our other ones down below.

How to Take Taltz for Psoriasis: Self-Injection Steps and More – Healthline

Posted: at 6:28 am

Ixekizumab (Taltz) is an injectable medication that can treat a few inflammatory conditions, including:

It works by blocking the immune reactions that cause inflammation in your skin or joints.

Taltz is a liquid solution that gets injected under your skin. It comes in a pre-filled syringe or a pre-filled auto-injector.

An auto-injector is a device that you can use to inject a pre-loaded dose of medication under your skin by pressing a button. Auto-injectors are usually spring-loaded syringes.

If youve been prescribed Taltz for psoriasis, your doctor will likely give you your first dose in their office. Adults may then self-administer future doses at home.

Taking Taltz at home is a fairly simple process, but you should be familiar with a few instructions before you can inject the medication on your own. A doctor or nurse should also provide training to you or your caregiver before sending you home with your next doses.

Make sure to confirm with your doctor how often you need to take Taltz. Dosing of Taltz may vary depending on your age and diagnosis.

Adults with psoriasis will most likely have a single injection once every 2 weeks for 12 weeks, followed by an injection every 4 weeks.

Youll need these supplies for your injection:

Taltz should be stored in the refrigerator. It shouldnt be frozen.

If necessary, you can store Taltz at room temperature for up to 5 days in the package it comes in. Once stored at room temperature, dont return Taltz to the refrigerator.

Dont attempt to self-inject until a doctor or nurse shows you how to use the auto-injector or syringe properly.

First, familiarize yourself with the auto-injector or pre-filled syringe, whichever youll be using, and their key components:

After you gather supplies, youll need to examine the auto-injector or syringe to make sure its safe to inject. Follow these steps:

You can inject Taltz anywhere on the front of your thighs or stomach, except your belly button and the area thats 1 inch around it.

Research from 2016 suggests that injecting into the thigh is the easiest and least painful for people with psoriasis.

A caregiver can also inject the medication into the back of your upper arm. Do not try to inject into the back of your arm yourself.

You can rotate the place of each injection to help reduce the chances of soreness and redness at the injection site.

Avoid skin that is red, swollen, bruised, tender, or scarred. Also, avoid parts of your skin affected by psoriasis.

Once youve chosen the injection site and washed your hands, there are a few steps to follow to safely give yourself the injection.

If you prefer, you can watch this video for instructions on how to use the auto-injector or pre-filled syringe. The manufacturers website also has instructional videos on how to inject Taltz.

After receiving an injection of Taltz, you may have some soreness around the injection site. These reactions are common and usually mild. Applying a cold pack to the affected area may help.

Always call your doctor right away if you start having any concerning side effects, such as an allergic reaction. If youre having serious side effects, such as trouble breathing, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Youll need to abide by state or local laws to dispose of a sharps container once its full. For more information, visit the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)s sharp disposal website.

The syringe is for one-time use only. Never reuse a syringe.

Needle-related anxiety may make it difficult to inject Taltz on your own.

If you have a fear of needles, try the following to ease the fear of self-injection:

A caregiver, such as a family member or friend, can also undergo training to provide the injection if youre unable to do it yourself. A caregiver can also offer support while you self-inject Taltz.

Over time, and with more practice, youll likely gain confidence in yourself and self-injection will get easier.

Though Taltz isnt expected to interact with other drugs or supplements, be sure to tell your doctor or pharmacist about any medications, herbs, or vitamins youre currently taking.

Some of these products may interfere with Taltz, or its possible that Taltz will interfere with some of these products.

You should avoid receiving live vaccines while youre taking Taltz. This is because Taltz can weaken your immune system and leave you susceptible to infections.

Inactivated vaccines are safe to take while also taking Taltz, but they may not be as effective. This includes the COVID-19 vaccines. Still, talk with your doctor to find out what the best course of action is for you.

Call your doctor if you have more questions about how to use the Taltz auto-injector. The manufacturer of Taltz also has injection resources available under a program known as Taltz Together.

To access training options or over-the-phone training, call 844-TALTZ-NOW (844-825-8966) during business hours (8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday) to reach a registered nurse.

If youve been prescribed Taltz, a doctor or nurse can provide training on how to give yourself injections at home. Two devices are available for injecting Taltz: an auto-injector or a pre-filled syringe.

Make sure to discuss these options with your doctor. Most people prefer to use the auto-injector since it allows you to inject Taltz with the push of a button, without having to see the needle.

Before taking Taltz, make sure to read and understand how to store the medication and inspect the product. You may also want to familiarize yourself with the syringe or auto-injector and its components.

If you experience any serious side effects after taking Taltz, call your doctor right away.

COVID-19 Linked to Exacerbations in Skin Diseases – MD Magazine

Posted: at 6:28 am

Investigators in Brazil concluded that the severity of COVID-19 did not differ among patients with atopic dermatitis, chronic urticaria , psoriasis, and vitiligo. However, but acute COVID-19 and its treatments was linked to changes in the course of skin diseases.

In a letter to the editor, Helio Miot, MD, PhD, a Professor of Dermatology at Unesp Botucatu, Sao Paulo state, Brazil, and fellow investigators noted that among COVID-19 complications, the inflammation caused by it could influence the skin microenvironment.

Limited information was available on the influence of COVID-19 and its treatments on patients with cutaneous diseases, though it was hypothesized that dermatolicial conditions could be affected by the virus.

Miot and colleagues conducted an electronic survey to evaluate acute COVID-19 symptoms, treatment, and changes as they related to the psoriasis, vitiligo, atopic dermatitis, and chronic urticaria.

Miot and investigators analyzed 6614 confirmed COVID-19 cases between May and June 2021.

Of the total number of cases, 843 reported 1 of the 4 active skin diseases.

Via 88,648 SMS messages and online support groups, investigators contacted these participants to engage in an online questionnaire regarding COVID-19 and the featured skin diseases.

Associations among dermatological treatments for the featured diseases and COVID-19 severity, symptomatic period, and clinical course were studied.

Overall, hospitalization due to COVID-19 did not differ between respondents with (9%) and without (11%) skin diseases, though a lower rate of hospitalization was noted for respondents with vitiligo who used oral antioxidants.

However, Miot and colleagues reported that some symptoms related to the virus were associated with various skin diseases.

High fever was associated with an exacerbation of chronic urticaria, and severe dyspnea was associated with the worsening of arthralgia in psoriasis and atopic dermatitis lesions.

Additionally, the use of antimalarials for COVID-19 was shown in the exacerbation of vitiligo, and hydroxychloroquine was associated with clinical worsening.

Oral corticosteroids also lead to greater clinical impairment in respondents with vitiligo and chronic urticaria, as did antihistamines for those with atopic dermatitis.

Antihistamines were also associated with longer symptomatic periods in cases of acute COVID-19, however methotrexate and biologics had no detectable effect on the virus.

Several other important developments were recorded during the study.

Miot and investigators believed the use of oral glucocorticoids, which were used in cases of unstable vitiligo and chronic urticaria, indicated increased exacerbation caused by viral infection.

They added that the clinical worsening of chronic urticaria by COVID-19 was the possible influence of TGF - secretion. The event led to fatigue, fever, cough, and pneumonia, and was associated with high fever as well.

The acute-phase protein EL-6 was also linked to COVID-19 symptoms.

The severity of COVID-19 does not differ among patients with AD, CU, psoriasis, and vitiligo, but acute COVID-19 and its treatments can affect the course of skin diseases, the team wrote.

The letter, COVID-19 and skin diseases: results from a survey of 843 patients with atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, vitiligo, and chronic urticaria, was published online in the Journal of The European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.

This is another sign up bonus from Unibet Arizona, meaning you can only claim one of these two offers. This one is great for those who dont want to make a big first deposit. You must deposit a minimum of $10 and enter promo code NFL50 to be eligible for this promo, though.

In order to claim this offer, you must use the code NFL50 at registration. After finishing registration and depositing, you have to make your first bet of at least $5 on the moneyline of any NFL game. The great part is you dont even have to win that wager to receive the $50 free bet. Whatever team you bet on simply needs to score a touchdown in their game, and the free bet is all yours.

Most NFL teams will score a touchdown this weekend, but some of the safer options include: San Francisco, Kansas City, Buffalo, Cleveland, and even Arizona. All of these teams are either heavily favored or playing in games where sportsbooks have set big over/unders on the final score.

NFL betting: The wagers that helped sportsbooks clean up in Week 1 – New York Post

Posted: at 6:27 am

The opening weekend of the 2021 NFL season brought several new legalized states into the world of sports betting (increasing the overall total to 26) and whats sure to be an increase in money wagered. It also reminded bettors new and old that the oddsmakers are pretty good at this.

Entering Monday night, underdogs were 11-4 against the spread and Unders were 9-6, usually a bad combination for the betting public. Perhaps the sportsbooks week can be best summarized by Ed Salmons, VP of risk at SuperBook Sports: It was a great week.

Lets run through some of the notable decisions and bigger bets in Week 1.

The San Francisco 49ers were heavy public favorites with nearly every book I spoke with having at least 70 percent of bets and 75 percent of the money wagered on San Francisco to cover the spread. WynnBet had a staggering 96 percent of the money wagered on the 49ers to cover the spread and Caesars Sports wasnt far behind at 83 percent. The 49ers closed as consensus 9.5-point road favorites against the Detroit Lions, the highest line on Sunday, though it was at 7.5 much of the week.

San Francisco was comfortably ahead 41-17, before Detroit scored two touchdowns (aided by an onside kick recovery) and converted two two-point conversions to make the final 41-33. The Lions even had a final chance to score a touchdown before turning the ball over on downs.

Any sportsbook you contacted on Sunday was loaded with money on the Green Bay Packers (-3.5) to beat the New Orleans Saints, but the line actually dipped from -4 to -3.5, indicating some respected money was on New Orleans to cover. The Saints did plenty more than cover, dominating Green Bay and crushing many moneyline parlays and Packers bets. A remarkable 87 percent of bets and 92 percent of the money at DraftKings were on the Packers to cover, and the story was similar at other books.

The Pack game was the most lopsided game in terms of splits (86 percent of handle on Green Bay spread, 90 percent on moneyline,) said BetRivers sportsbook manager Zach Schlouch. And the Green Bay spread generated the most handle of any individual bet on the entire board.

Seattle at Indianapolis had a range of Colts -2.5 to its closing line of Seahawks -2.5 after being as high as Seahawks -3. Seattle covering the spread was the highest liability of the early games at TwinSpires Sportsbook and a massive decision for most sportsbooks. Over 80 percent of the bets and 86 percent of the handle were on Seattle to cover at DraftKings, though PointsBet was one of the few books that needed the Seahawks due to a $15,000 wager on the Colts +3. The Seahawks won 28-16 in a game that wasnt as close as the score, leading to one of the few wins of the day for public bettors.

The two best games for the players were the Seahawks and the Broncos [over the Giants], Stations sportsbook director Chuck Esposito said. But overall it was a really good opening week for the books.

$110,000 on second-half Over 28 in Browns-Chiefs at BetMGM; $100,000 on Panthers moneyline (-200) vs. Jets at FanDuel.

$110,000 on Colts +2.5 at BetMGM; $110,000 on Packers -3.5 at BetMGM; $120,000 on New York Giants ML at Caesars Sports; $100,000 on Packers ML -141 at FanDuel.
