Two cryopreservation companies, run by ex-spouses, fight over frozen corpses and one tries to remove the bo… – Market Research Telecast
Posted: September 12, 2021 at 10:01 am
Two Russian cryopreservation companies, run respectively by former spouses, have been in open conflict. This Wednesday, the ex-husbands firm accused his ex of trying to steal frozen bodies and equipment from a warehouse of his in the city of Sergiyev Posad, in the Moscow region.
In 2006, Valria Udalova and Danila Medvedev, who are currently divorced, they co-founded the cryopreservation company KrioRus, which is dedicated to freezing and storing carcasses of people and animals with the purpose of resuscitating them in a hypothetical future. The bodies are placed in special containers, called Dewar vessels, where, according to the company, they can be preserved without significant changes for hundreds of years.
In 2019, other founders of the firm They expressed their dissatisfaction with the activities of the director, a position then occupied by Udalova, and they decided to dismiss her. In response, Udalova registered another cryonics company of the same name, KrioRus. Medvedev, for his part, co-founded a company called Otkrytaya Crionica.
This Wednesday, from Otkrytaya Crionica they denounced that the day before Udalova employees entered a cryogenics warehouse, cut a part of the hangar wall with an autogenous torch, drained most of the nitrogen from the Dewar vessels, they carried them horizontally along with the patients in two cars and tried to carry them away in the direction of a still unfinished cryogenics warehouse in Tver.
Otkrytaya Crionica employees called the police, who succeeded in having the Dewar glasses returned to the company. The damage caused to cryopatients and to the warehouse still to evaluate. Valrias actions were extremely irresponsible, since they are outside the legal framework and endanger cryopatients. Now the question of starting a criminal case will be determined, said one of the founders, Dmitri Kvasnikov.
Meanwhile, Medvedev declared to the telegram channel Podyom that his ex-spouse wanted to take the Dewar glasses in order to develop his new company. In order for Valria to collect money from new clients, she needs to show that she has a warehouse and cryopatients, he said.
Udalova, for her part, explained that while she was still the director of KrioRus, she had formalized the sale of containers with cryopatients to her new company. I have valid contracts for all teams, but the Police demanded to leave them in the previous place to order the documents, he said.
In a comment for the Gazeta.ru portal, Udalova he refused to clarify if there were bodies in the Dewar vessels and if they were damaged while being transported. Our company only decided to move the equipment from one place to another. My ex-husband and ex-founder Danila Medvedev made a false complaint to the Police, that we were stealing our own equipment. [] He wants to take over everything, he tries to pressure me with all kinds of illegal methods, Held.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.4: Release Date, Roadmap, Patch Notes and Everything We Know So Far – GIVEMESPORT
Posted: at 9:59 am
Cyberpunk 2077 continues to be one of the most popular games currently on the market despite a controversial start to life in the gaming industry.
We fully expect new content to be provided by CD Projekt Red, the game's developers, for update 1.4, with a flurry of optimised DLC for gamers to get stuck into.
Unless you've had your head in the sand, you will know that Cyberpunk 2077 had a hugely questionable launch as many, particularly those who played on PS4, came across a raft of bugs and glitches that hampered their user experience from the off.
That being said, CD Projekt Red could have easily given up on production and focus on Witcher instead. But credit where it's due, the game has progressively been improving with every update that has been provided. So what can we expect this time around?
Here is everything that you need to know regarding Cyberpunk 2077 and the 1.4 update.
The future of Night City could be vastly improved in this patch - but it is likely that we will not find out the extent of the changes for a number of months.
With only two major updates on Cyberpunk 2077 this year alone, it might be a current trend that we can expect a new patch on this game every few months.
While the precise release date is unclear at this time, we will update this article as soon as more information emerges during that timeframe.
The roadmap for this update will be posted here once it has been unveiled.
The patch notes for 1.4 will be listed here once they have been released by the game's developers. So stick with us and we will update this section in due course!

We can explore other worlds without the expense of having humans walk on them – Desert Sun

Ross Marchand| Guest columnist
It looks like mankind wont be going back to the moon … on schedule, at least. According to arecent reportby the National Aeronautics and Space Administration inspector general, astronaut suits have been delayed by two years due to an array of technical, funding, and COVID-related challenges.
The unavoidable conclusion, alunar landing in late 2024 as NASA currently plans is not feasible, is hardly surprising given NASAs string of failures in trying to take humanity back to the lunar surface. The failures also speak to a larger strategic mistake that places inordinate importance on planting flags on alien worlds despite the practical and scientific disadvantages of that approach.
Humanity can venture to infinity and beyond while avoiding the black hole of wasteful spending.
The American people might have reasonably assumed that developing spacesuits is not a problem for NASA. After all, the water cooled, nonflammable Apollo-era suits seemed to pose little problem for pioneers such as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. But recent problems with current spacesuit design first started to surface in 2017 when the IGreported, despite spending nearly $200 million on extravehicular spacesuit development over the previous 9-year period, the Agency remained years away from having a flight-ready spacesuit to use on exploration missions.
Since that report, NASA spent an additional $220 million on developing a new spacesuit. And total spending will wind up costing the agency (and taxpayers) more than $1 billion ahead of human-led exploration missions. For all of this spending, NASA hasnt done a great job of explaining why new-and-improved spacesuits are even necessary.
According to the IG, the next-generation suits willfeature a new design to accommodate a broader range of sizes and improve fit, comfort and mobility, a response to complaints that existing spacesuits dont fit all body types. The suits are also designed to avoid the bunny hopping seen in the original moon exploration footage. Its frankly unclear why NASA cares so much about increasing the fit and flexibility of their suits.
The truth is thattens of thousands of applicantsare anxious for the chance to explore foreign worlds, and these willing astronauts dont seem too hung up on spacesuit limitations. Even if NASA has better reasons for designing a new suit, the process would undoubtably be less expensive if they relied on outside contracting. SpaceX hasalready offered its services, and chances are a privately-designed spacesuit wouldnt cost $1 billion.
Cost considerations aside, the focus on spacesuit design neglects the bigger picture. Perhaps its time for policymakers to question the wisdom of human exploration missions. Despite bipartisan hype, manned missions to outer space are notoriously overrated.
Robotic missions are a far more cost-effective way of discovering the skies above. Cambridge Cosmology and astrophysics professor and astronomer royal Martin Rees rightlypoints outthatthe practical case (for human spaceflight) gets weaker and weaker with every advance in robotics and miniaturization.
Besides, even successful, temporary human missions to other worlds wont translate into successful long-term habitation. Mars is probably the top contender for an outer space colony, yet even the red planet would need to be extensively terraformed to make it livable for humans. The simple act of growing food is basically impossible on Mars, no matter how many billions of dollars NASA spends on the endeavor.
Regardless of which spacesuits astronauts don in the future, it is time to rethink the Earthly obsession with sending humans to explore other worlds. Naked robots are far better at extraterrestrial endeavors than bundled-up astronauts.

First responders 9/11 event hosted at Ascension Sacred Heart – WMBB – mypanhandle.com
Posted: at 9:57 am
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) A local hospital remembered the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, by thanking first responders.
Police officers and firefighters circled Ascension Sacred Hearts main campus Friday morning.
Hospital chaplain Frederick Woods helped organize the event.
The local chaplains here at Bay got together and we had a conversation, and one of the chaplains said Hey why not have the first responders circle around the facility,' Woods said. We were going to offer them gifts anyway but we figured out how would we give them some gifts.
Woods said he was touched to see the first responders return the favor and provide snacks to the hospital staff.
It was pretty successful today, said Woods. I appreciate all the people that showed up and the officers that stayed and provided gifts for our E.R. staff. That was great. But we just wanted to recognize the first responders in all that they do and just tell them to thank you.
Panama City Police Sergeant Joseph Record said taking the time to remember that day in history is more important than ever now.
Theres a lot of people in this world right now that were very young when it occurred, Record said. Some people even that I work with were just born or even some not even born yet when it did occur. A lot of people look at it as something that happened in the past but I believe we should learn from our past and grow from it, get stronger from it. Remembering our past helps us build toward the future.

Nearly two weeks into outages, Ascension Parish neighborhood feeling the heat – WBRZ
Posted: at 9:57 am
DARROW - A break from the humidity Friday is helping some people still without power, but it won't be for long. Power is still a problem for many people who are living through day 12 without electricity since Hurricane Ida. They just want to know when their lights will turn back on.
There are about 200 homes in an Ascension Parish community that have gone 12 days without power. Resheta Smith tells 2 On Your Side she only thought it would be a few days, but now those days seem to never end.
Smith has been driving her family to Houston on the weekends for a little relief from the heat since hotels in the Baton Rouge area are full. They use a generator to power the fridge and a small window unit, but fuel has gotten expensive.
She says they've watched every neighborhood around them light up and wonder why it's taking so long for them.
"All the surrounding areas have lights and we don't," Smith said. "It's like this one little neighborhood we're still in the dark, right here in Hillaryville and Darrow."
Smith says it's been a struggle, especially for the kids.
"The kids are hot, aggravated, so am I," she said.
Another neighbor says there are people in the neighborhood on oxygen and have been having a tough time in the heat.
Smith says she's been calling Entergy trying to figure out when they'll get power back. Time estimates have come and gone.
"They gave me the seventh, they gave me the eighth, when I called yesterday they told me they just didn't have no information on when they would turn the lights on," she said.
Entergy told 2 On Your Side Friday morning the power would be back on by the end of the day, and that's still the goal. Friday afternoon Entergy brought power back to some of the area but found a more localized issue affecting about 70 homeowners, and one of them is Smith. Entergy says there's a pole down in the area and it's not a quick fix, but it's working to resolve the outage.
