PREMIERE | Low Poly Delivers A Hypnotic Future Garage Groove On Mine – This Song is Sick

Posted: at 3:17 pm

Brooklyn-based producer Low Poly is teaming back up with mau5trap to deliver an experimental new banger. The DJ/producer, who released music with the label back in 2019, provides us with a fresh new track with a refined sound. Mine is a future garage ballad that keeps you bouncing.

The track takes you on a genre-blending journey that shows off Low Polys versatility as an artist. What starts as an enchanting, organic, trance-like intro with hypnotic vocals drops into a tastefully driven breakbeat rhythm. It packs a fair punch too, with bass hits and mechanized synths trading shots beneath a buoyant melodic loop. Its definitely a different vibe from the dude who is known to dabble in the dub scene, but its a dope new direction for his sound.

It comes out on January 22, but were premiering Mine a day early for your eager ears. Enjoy!

Bicep ‘Isles’ review: trippy electronic tales that transcend the club world – NME

Posted: at 3:17 pm

In the years since the rise of their 2009-born, disco-gem-uncovering Feel My Bicep blog and 2012s pumping breakthrough EP Vision Of Love, Bicep have transformed from underground house-head favourites to festival-headlining daytime-radio-infiltrating sculptors of emotive electronic anthems. Really, though, its what Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar had always been building towards.

The London-based Belfast duos melodious 2015 single Just teased at a more expansive style. But it was their multi-textured debut album released two years later via Ninja Tune and an unexpected top-20 chart hit that certified these deep-digging studio heads growing reputation as architects of introspective yet kaleidoscopic anthems.

Fast forward to 2021 and, with clubs still shut for obvious reasons, theyve retooled their second album to suit lockdown listening at home ahead of, theyve said, a much harder live version. Created in their keyboard and drum-filled London studio, Isles finds the DJs and producers again fusing atmosphere-building bleeps (the melancholic Cazenove) with infectious synth lines Fir elicits the eyes-glued rush of watching an edge-of-your-seat epic and feels as though it could explode at any moment.

Israeli artist Ofra Hazas Love Song forms the starting point for cathartic opener Atlas and eerie breakbeats rumbler Sundial, which samples Bollywood song Jab Andhera Hota Hai, provides a moment of near-ambient contemplation. This is an album that trades on Biceps early penchant for obscure vocal samples see also the eerie, vocal sample-led late-night trance anthem Apricots, a brilliant recent single.

Whats new this time around, though, is that the boys worked with other live singers and instrumentalists, adding another layer to their tried-and-tested formula. Icy-toned labelmate Clara La San appears twice: the London-based R&B star lends her voice to the movingly nostalgic trip of Saku and the heavy and futuristic X. Rever, meanwhile, carries a comparatively chilling energy, its chant-like vocal hovering hauntingly over a lightly shuffling mechanic techno beat and affecting cello playing from Canadian cellist and composer Julia Kent. Later, the sci-fi-infused synth whirrs of ominous closer Hawk run alongside Korean Tokyo-based artist Machnas faint voice, before things rush skywards one last time.

While many in the electronic scene have attempted to imitate Biceps signature sound, nobody builds melancholy into colourful trance and techno quite like these Irish mates. As they prove across Isles 10 intricately-crafted tracks (which were whittled down from more than 150 demos), few other artists can conjure up these much-missed moments of patiently rapturous rave ecstasy quite so artfully.

Release date: January 22Record label: Ninja Tune

ATB & Topic & A7S join forces on brand new single ‘Your Love (9pm)’ – Rave Jungle

Posted: at 3:17 pm

A modern reimagining of ATBs platinum-selling 1998 classic 9pm (Till I Come), Your Love (9pm) is the first-ever official remake with the trance producers involvement.

Working together in the studio in Germany, ATB and Topic combined both of their music styles flawlessly to create the track, along with A7S, who finalized the lyrics via video call.

Over the past 20 years Ive received so many requests for collaborations, remakes and cover versions of my song 9pm (Till I Come) but I passed on them all because I was never really satisfied with the sound of the approach nor the final, explains ATB.

Then I listened to Topics Breaking Me together with Rudi (management) and we immediately had the feeling that these two sound worlds could fuse together perfectly.

ATB & Topics version flaunts A7S soaring vocals and a powerful, full-bodied bassline with the iconic hook and sunkissed trance energy that made the original special to listeners worldwide.

9pm (Till I Come) is an absolute dance classic that Ive known and loved since I was little, says Topic.

It is, therefore, a great honor to be the first to reissue this number together with ATB. The typical ATB guitar riff paired with my melancholic dance music sound and the unmistakable voice of A7S results in perfect symbiosis!

ATBs big breakthrough moment, 9pm (Till I Come), propelled the German DJ and producer to the top of the UK singles chart back in 1998, becoming the first trance song to reach #1 in the UK.

Not stopping there, ATBs debut single also peaked in several Top 10 charts around the globe, including the US Billboard Charts, and opened the door for dance music on mainstream radio.

His creative spirit continued to flourish with an impressive string of hits like Dont Stop, Ecstasy, Let U Go, What About Us, Move On and When It Ends It Starts Again. Together with 10 studio albums, Gold and Platinum certifications in numerous territories have underlined the Germans status, as did his continuous presence in the prestigious DJ Mag Top 100 poll for almost two decades.

A stunning rework of a legendary 90s dance track, Your Love (9pm) boasts ATBs timeless hook and Topics effortless production style, along with A7S vocal performance, whilst paying homage to the classic dance hits of yesteryear.

Daft Punk debut album ‘Homework’ turns 24 years old today – We Rave You

Posted: at 3:17 pm

Back in the 1990s, dance music was in a very different place That was until Daft Punk emerged to bring a fresh and innovative electro sound to the masses, sprinkling a class French Touch to house music. If we rewind to the 20th century, euro-dance and trance remained dance musics most trending sub-genre at the time, with acts like Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk, and Ferry Corsten all playing a huge role in the movement at the time. With the people of the UK hosting a number of illegal raves and warehouse parties every weekend, acid-house and acts like The Prodigy started to boom, but in 1997 that all changed when Daft Punk gave us Around The World. The innovative single, paired with iconic official video, was taken from Homework, the pairs debut album, which also included tracks such as Alive and Da Funk, the latter proving a common ground for Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso with the Swedish House Mafia pair describing how they bonded together over that track during their teenage years in the Leave The World Behind docu-movie.

Dance music had never seen an act like Daft Punk before, and not just because of their sick style and legendary robotic helmets. The French pair managed to incorporate a truly unique and refreshing sonic style within their productions, and soon became one of the biggest artists in the world, going on to launch follow-up album Discovery in 2001, which included Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, Digital Love, Aerodynamic and arguably their biggest hit to date, One More Time. The duo returned in 2013 with Random Access Memories, and hit the big-time once more with the sound of the summer, Pharrell collaboration Get Lucky. The duo also roped in the N*E*R*D frontman for Lose Yourself To Dance (found on the same album). But today, on the day Homework celebrates a 24th anniversary, we take a look back at this classic below!

Donald Trump’s ‘hypnotic handshake’ and ‘secret weapon’ he uses to win people over – Mirror Online

Posted: at 3:16 pm

Donald Trump uses hypnosis as his "secret weapon" to win people over and to get voters to believe his words, an expert has claimed.

Lisa Morgan has spotted a number of popular techniques in the addresses he's made since moving into the White House and claims his handshakes with politicians, including Theresa May, "knocks them off guard".

Speaking to The Mirror, Lisa explains how the 45th President uses emotion, vagueness and "sing-song delivery" to shift people further into a dreamy state.

She explains: "Hypnosis is Trumps secret weapon. He has used it from the start.

"He uses hypnotic handshakes other under-the-radar hypnosis tricks he uses to win people over.

"Remember those weird handshakes that he gave politicians like Theresa May and even the Queen? The put people into a short trance. It's jerky push and pull knocks them off guard.

"Their minds go blank and at that point Trump mutters a hypnotic suggestion.

"He tried it on when shaking the hand of US governor of South Dakota, home to Mount Rushmore: Do you know its my dream to have my face on Mount Rushmore he told her.

"That suggestion failed but many have succeeded only too well.

"Trumps rallies are similar to a hypnotists show. The crowd wait through hours of rhythmic music and sometimes hypnotic films in which Trump, in silhouette, is shown with military, warlike images, backed by jarring soundtracks full of crashes, bangs and whistles.

"He is depicted as their leader supreme. Many of the crowd are already in a trance before he appears.

"When Trump speaks, hypnotic suggestions are hidden in waffle.

"His sing-song delivery shifts people further into a dreamy state. He marks his key commands through subtle emphasis and repetition, saying what he wants people to absorb, over and over again.

"Artful vagueness is a style of hypnosis in which Trump excels.

"As well as repeating words, Trumps language is often vague. Listeners have to make up their own minds what he means, so that his thoughts become theirs.

"The result is that he cant be blamed if they do something illegal. He can claim that his speech was appropriate like he did when the crowd attacked the Capitol or that his phone call to the President of Ukraine trying to bribe him to dig dirt on Bidens son was perfect.

"For Trump his priority is managing how people feel about him. He uses emotional words like love, good, beautiful about himself and his fans while using nasty, weak and fake about his enemies. He tells rambling stories, with emotional suggestions woven through them.

"This helps him build strong feelings of loyalty in his supporters.

"For Trump to manage listeners feelings successfully, inconvenient facts are ignored or distorted. In other words, he tells them lies.

"Another hypnosis trick he plays is misdirection. Remember Greenland? When the press could have written about the suicide of his paedophile friend, Jeffery Epstein or several mass shootings, Trump announced he wanted to buy the largest island in the world.

"Trump has made no secret of his goal to have what Putin and Xi, President of China have the job for life.

"His hypnotic suggestions primed his followers to fight for him to be president for life, aka their king."

Lisa focuses on Trump's use of hypnosis in her book, Comply with Me: Trumps Hypnosis Toolkit Exposed.

Last year, she predicted that he would "up the ante and take more outlandish steps to hold onto power.

She writes: "By January 6th, after hearing thousands of repeated claims that the election had been stolen, the rally crowd were convinced and ready to help Trump to stay on as president. In his 'Stop the Steal' rally speech he repeatedly told the crowd how much he loved them and at the same time he fired them up.

"He was often vague. Being peaceful, only mentioned once, was not stressed, but "fighting"was.

"Trump told them: "And we fight. We fight like Hell and if you dont fight like Hell, youre not going to have a country anymore".

"In total, Trump repeated the word fight 17 times, along with repetition of fought, reinforced by a stage-managed chant of Fight for Trump yelled a dozen times.

"By now the crowd knew what they were to do. They had been programmed.

"Of course, there were loyalists who had come prepared for battle, but this speech reinforced the combative message and carried many other Trump fans along towards the Capitol with them.

"Hypnosis in the right hands can be a force for good. It can help people relax, gain confidence get rid of habits, relieve pain and live more fulfilling lives.

"When Trump uses hypnosis, he pays no attention to the consequences the impact on those he deceives.

"Thousands of peoples peaceful lives are now threatened because they believed him, perhaps because they didnt wear a mask or, for many, marched in a trance to attack their own government building."
