CDPR shares a glimpse of the "bad neighbourhood" of Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City – TrueAchievements

As November draws nearer, CD Projekt Red continues to share glimpses of the world of Cyberpunk 2077. It's now shared new details on Watson, the "bad neighbourhood of Night City", the braindance technician character shown during the Night City Wire gameplay, and images of how protagonist V might look in each of the three life paths open to players: Nomad, Street Kid, and Corporate.First up, there's artwork showing different glimpses of Watson, "the bad neighbourhood of Night City", devastated by economic disaster and home to the Maelstrom and Tyger Claws gangs. We know there will be seven districts in the game: six within Night City itself, with the seventh being The Badlands, the area surrounding the city. The devs discussed The Badlands during CDPR's Night City Wire as a sort of extra district: a "dead, dried-out space" inhabited by nomads. We've heard, too, about Pacifica: like Watson, the area was meant for tourists but fell to ruin once its investors decided to take their funding elsewhere, and, like Watson, the area is now dominated by gangs. When the Cyberpunk 2077 art book was revealed back in 2019, it seemed to hint at the game's map, showing glimpses of other districts such as Santo Domingo, Westbrook, and the city centre. Yet this is the first proper look we've had at the Watson district: an area with the bright neon colours and skyscrapers meant for its wealthier days now contrasted with its present condition. These are artwork images, and we haven't yet seen the game's map in full, so it's still possible that Watson and the rest of the map could look very different when the game releases. Still, it's interesting to get our first look into one part of Night City.Most recently, CDPR shared details about Judy Alvarez, "Night City's premier braindance technician." We saw Alvarez during the Night City Wire gameplay, as she talked V through the braindance procedure and how to use it. She is "heavily respected for her skills, innovation and creativity. Motivated to change things for the better she teamed with The Mox and currently works for them as a BD technician and editor." From the gameplay footage, it seems V will be working with her too. It also looks as though braindance will feature heavily in the game, perhaps as another way for V to earn money. Lastly, CDPR shared some images of V outfitted as the Street Kid. Nomad, Street Kid, and Corporate are the three life paths available to choose from at the start of the game. The descriptions of each class aren't new, but the images definitely are, and CDPR also tweeted accompanying pics of V as the Nomad and Corporate life paths. CD Projekt REDs ambitious RPG Cyberpunk 2077 is finally headed to retail shelves this holiday season. Its a frustrating wait for anyone ready to get their hands on the game, but theres one way to fit Cyberpunk into your gaming routine right now: The Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition 1 TB System.

This special edition bundle, which is the last Xbox One X bundle well likely see before the Xbox Series X debuts, is packed with everything you need to feel like youre in the futuristic world of Night City.

The package includes the special Limited Edition 1 TB console, matching wireless controller, a full game download of Cyberpunk 2077 and a one-month trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. But the ultimate allure is, of course, the fact that its an extremely limited edition (its sold out at most retailers) and that its an attractive console.

The entire package is colorful, from the internal packets with setup instructions to the casing. Its the little details that make it feel special. For instance, the system includes a teal HDMI cable. It isnt exactly the same color as the console, but its the first time an HDMI cord other than the standard black or white has been included with a system. That alone makes this console an intriguing buy.

Once youre past the components and cables, you get a glimpse at the two-toned controller, half-black and half-chrome with red accents, meant to evoke Keanu Reeves character Johnny Silverhand. The left trigger is red, while the right is black. The words No Future are etched into the side, while the face buttons are marked with red letters. It comes with two AA batteries, which is typical of Xbox One controllers.

The console is sleek and brightly hued, with two different designs on the top and bottom. One side is slightly gray with the words No Future and Samurai emblazoned across the top and bottom, with the games iconic logo representing the fictional band featured in-game.

Johnny Silverhand was a member of the group, and the characters influence can be seen all over the machine. The bottom reads, in graffiti-like print, Wheres Johnny? in reference to Silverhands alleged disappearance advertised in the game.

The console has a pleasing matte finish to cut down on fingerprints and feels nice and hefty. The back of the system, where the vents are located, features tricolor banding with gray, navy and gold hues. The front (or top) of the system showcases the Xbox logo, the Seocho Electronics etching and Super Capacitor logo, along with warnings that there is a strong magnetic field.

Theres a worn, futuristic look to it, but if you dont like the bold coloring of the top, youll more than certainly appreciate the Samurai nod to Johnny and the boys.

Interestingly enough, on the back of the machine near the bottom corner, youll find a square that reads Uniform, Victor, Mike, Echo. As a keen-eyed Redditor pointed out, these are instructions to UV Me, as in take a UV light to this section. If you do so, youll find the message Many languages, one message, as well as Thank you printed in a variety of languages, capped off with CD Projekt RED Xbox.

In terms of functionality, this Xbox One X doesnt work differently than a typical model, but theres a striking difference thats typical of special edition Xbox One systems. It elicits a special startup and shutdown noise thats evocative of a classic robotic noise when you turn it on and off. Theres a futuristic cobbled together vibe to the machine, as well as its controller, which fits the aesthetic and gives it an edge over other variations.

Unfortunately, given that Cyberpunk 2077 isnt scheduled to release until November, there was no opportunity to test the new Xbox Direct Delivery system that does away with code redemption and sends unlocked content to your console.

When the game finally releases, it will automatically be sent to your console, provided youve logged into your Microsoft account on the Cyberpunk system. Further down the line, youll get the first DLC expansion, which will likely run anywhere from $4.99 to $19.99 in true fashion for additional content.

The Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition 1 TB System is a worthy investment for anyone looking to expand their console collection or add another system to their setup ahead of the Xbox Series Xs debut this holiday season.

Its unique, tough to find and features plenty of interesting touches that make it the coolest model of the Xbox One X. Its certainly going to be a collectors item, so if you find one, its a good idea to snap it up. And if it sells out, theres a number of other Xbox One Xs that offer a nearly identical experience. WATCH: Tencents Cyberpunk Themed Game Demo on Unreal Engine – Essentially Sports

Every gamer out there knows that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to take the gaming world by storm. It is one of a kind project that has accumulated a massive fan following. But what if a big name wants to rival the project? That seems to be just the case with Tencent. The videogame company have announced their own game in the cyberpunk genre, code-named SYN. Tencent is developing an open-world FPS much similar to the most-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. The announcement was made at their annual conference on June 27. The project named SYN hasnt disclosed many details.

The game will be developed by Lightspeed and Quantum Studios; the same studios who were behind the PUBG mobile port. The 3-minute video showcased many stunning visuals from the game.

Much like Cyberpunk, SYN will also feature top levels of character customization. However, the video showcased no info on gameplay.

In addition to robot-like characters, you also get cyberpets. Pets do not mean dogs or cats, as the trailer showcased animals like a bear and a leopard. They had heavy armor on them, and it looks like they are capable of heavy damage. The pets too are customizable; looks and traits.

Cyber pets are likely to be the players aid throughout the game. It is unclear if these pets could be used as a ride. You can however take vehicles and customize them. The game also has three factions Enforcer, Anarchy, and Motorheads.

The game has been rendered by Unreal Engine and Epic Games will be assisting the team.

The game does not have an official release date as of yet. SYN is set to launch for both PC and Consoles.

Cyberpunk 2077 goes businesspunk with a look at the Corpo life path – GamesRadar+

Update: CD Projekt Red has shown off a look at the third and final Cyberpunk 2077 life path: meet Corpo V.

The corporate types have a smartly tailored black-and-red look that is clearly the most reserved of the three. Masculine V's sporting a single-breasted suit with a red undershirt, while feminine V gets a red jacket with grey shoulder pads. My favorite detail on both of the designs is the shirt, which has a collar with a sort of integrated necktie. Ties have changed a lot since we started choking ourselves out with cravats in the name of fashion, so it makes sense they'd keep morphing into the future.

Cyberpunk 2077 is showing off some special looks for your main character, based on which life path you choose at the start of the game.

When you create your own custom protagonist at the start of Cyberpunk 2077, you'll be able to select one of three life paths: Nomad, Street Kid, and Corpo. These determine what your hero V's life was like before you joined their story, and they also determine the opening of the game with further echoes throughout the storyline. And as these new tweets from the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account reveal, they'll have an influence on your character's look.

Up first is a look at Nomad fashion. It's a lot of leather, denim, ragged edges - and most of all - vests. A Nomad caught out roving the wastelands without their vest is as good as dead (I assume). Their guns have been personalized with graffiti, and look like they may have been kitbashed together from looted junk.

Next, CD Projekt Red gave us a look at V in their Street Kid form. No vests, just graphic tops, and V's feminine look is even rocking some fly-as-hell gold pants. They also get to show off a sci-fi katana with a glowing blade. Masculine V's pants aren't quite as cool, and they only get a dinky little handgun, but I would wear those high-top trainers in a heartbeat.

CD Projekt Red hasn't given us a look at Corpo fashion yet, though it's safe to assume that we'll see more within the next couple days (our own Sam Loveridge chose that path for her recent Cyberpunk 2077 hands-on preview). If previous looks at corporate types in the game are anything to go by, we can expect business fashion vaguely informed by '80s power suits and perhaps even some professional-strength mullets.

Three-way battleNow that The Last Of Us Part 2 is out and a huge success (just as everyone sensible expected, with the complainers once again proven to be an insignificant minority) its obviously a front runner for game of the year. Theres so little out this year though that the only real competition, unless you want to add Call Of Duty to the mix, is Cyberpunk 2077 and Halo Infinite.

Now, obviously I know nothing about Halo Infinite and to be honest I still dont feel like I know a whole lot about Cyberpunk really. The recent videos did give a decent feel for how it would look and feel but to me theres something a bit off. As another reader said, the combat just looks stiff to watch and I worry about it. Now The Last Of Us Part 2 doesnt have amazing combat but it gets the job does and its biggest crime is being a bit simplistic and generic.

I wasnt that impressed by the dialogue in Cyberpunk either. It all seemed a bit tryhard and dude bros. to me. I get that these are just low rent scumbags youre dealing with/playing as but Im already missing the more intelligent characters of The Witcher 3. So my prediction is that The Last Of Us probably will be the best, unless Halo Infinite manages to properly reinvent itself. Which it may well do, but Microsoft has got a hell of a sell to make to prospective buyers to convince them of that.Combi

Last of the dinosaursI have to say Im looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077. Looking at the recent updates and footage the game seems to be the best parts of GTA, Deus Ex, and The Witcher with some interesting concepts and shady characters. The braindance stuff reminds me of detective mode from the Batman games. The driving elements reminded me of a trip to Hong Kong with all the neon lights and busy streets.

The soundtrack also seems good. I think the decision to polish the game further until November is a good one as the gunplay seems a bit stiff. Its the right move to release a game finished, which is a rarity these days.

It does make me wonder though if a game like this can be realised on the current gen then do we need the next gen yet? Your article about the cost of games always increasing gave good insight, at some point something has to give. I wonder if a game like this could become the last of its kind? Imagine the cost of producing this game from scratch on the next gen surely only a handful of studios could afford the risk and time?R McKenna (gamertag)

You snooze, you looseYouve got to laugh that its taken Warner Bros. so long to announce Harry Potter that the whole brand has been poisoned by its creator and the publisher is about to be sold. I feel for the developers as Warner Bros. to me are the ultimate example of the problems people have been talking about where games take too long to make now and require so much money nothing gets greenlit and youre left with literally nothing.

Batman is the ultimate example because WB Games Montral hasnt made a single game all generation, because of constant cancellations. All they need now is for Batman to suddenly become unfashionable for some reason (it kind of already is because of Marvel?) and their failure will be complete.Wicky

Smash MegamixI was thinking the other day, what my dream Smash Bros. guest character would be. People wanted Dante before the Byleth reveal. But hed be more like Bayonetta and just like her, would have to have his moveset streamlined to fit just like her and theyre both better suited to Soulcalibur anyway.

I did think how about Rez? But the character is just a generic shooter type. A stage based on Rez would be pretty awesome though

But, lets face it, Smash is still pretty conservative when it comes to the likes of Fighters Megamix and Project Justice. In Megamix you could fight as a palm tree and a car! Not Transformers style, either but it would stand up on its rear wheels like they were feet and punch you with its front wheels! Bonkers! Genius! I want the Daytona Hornet in Smash like yesterday!

Though, unless Sakurai himself is personally a huge fan, I doubt that will happen. Which is a shame, as I really want it now.DMR

Less than 40,000The petition to remake the storyline of The Last of Us 2 has over 40,000 signatures at time of writing. I wonder how many of these people have actually finished the game?

Personally, I really enjoyed the storyline. It was tough going at times, but I found the characters, acting, and plot all to be top notch. Not many games tackle topics as mature as the nature of human existence, the futility of war and violence, and the absurdity of tribalism and othering.

The characters are flawed and complex, as they were in the first game and as is to be expected given the situation they find themselves in. You cant make decisions for them but doing so would have diluted the impact of the plot.

All of this is wrapped up with slick, engaging gameplay and tense, thrilling action sequences. I really do think it deserves all the praise its been getting. A truly great game.Mud

Series repeatIn answer to your question regarding The Last Of Us Part 2 bugs, yes Im playing on a base PlayStation 4. A PlayStation 4 slim to be precise. Like I said in my last letter, it only happened a handful of times, so the bugs and frame rate issues were minor and by no means detracted the overall experience. Ill send my findings onto Naughty Dog and I expect theyll be fixed in a patch.

Ive just started playing The Last Of Us Remastered, havent played this PlayStation 4 version before. I played the original at launch on the PlayStation 3. The remastered version certainly looks good even compared directly to the sequel. I often like playing through a full series of games back to back so I might do a new game plus playthrough of Part 2 and polish off the platinum.

I think knowing the full story beforehand will be a different experience, like I enjoyed playing through Bioshock again knowing the big twist at the end and understanding what Would you kindly? meant. A link to the pastIm playing Zelda: Breath Of The Wild again for the fourth time in Master Mode this time. I am in Zeldas room at Hyrule Castle and Im reading Zeldas notes. One of the notes says about guardians: They are said to be stored in the five giant columns that rest beneath Hyrule Castle. The thing is no matter how I search beneath the castle, I cant seem to locate these columns. They must be buried deep.

The second of usThe Last of Us 2. Walking, talking, shooting, and looting. Gave up trying to be to stealthy. I dont really enjoy sneaky, sneaky gameplay and always seem to get spotted when trying.

The walking is gorgeous. The graphics are stunning, with Naughty Dogs realistic, natural style creating a believable, atmospheric, and beautiful post-apocalyptic world. The lighting is especially striking, be it blazing sun or overcast rainy climes. What Naughty Dog could achieve on PlayStation 5 is tantalising.

The talking is top notch. Its really well acted and totally absorbing. The game is long and could be edited better but its not too much of an issue for me.

The shooting is really fun. Its pretty simple but is tight and tense, just very satisfying. Refrain from using the listen function as well, to make the encounters more immersive.

The looting I dont enjoy and find distracts from the things Ive just said I do enjoy. Hate that I feel the need to have to check every damn nook and cranny. Wonder if theres an alternative? Resource points acquired from the shooting maybe to spend on crafting. Who knows.

The core themes of the game I found interesting and I liked where Naughty Dog took the characters. I think it was bold of them and I give them credit and respect for it.

But I cant decide if the manner in which they communicate their themes is cheap, not really all that clever and at times out of keeping for the characters or if its necessary. By necessary, I mean you have to make it difficult to accept for the player. Im currently leaning towards the former but every time I hear someone reject the game out of hand at the mid-point the more I lean to the latter and appreciate what Naughty Dog wanted to achieve for the game.

Either way Its an excellent game. Going to do a New Game+ playthrough on Survivor now. More than happy to spend another 20 to 30 hours in this game.Simundo

What does freedom mean to you? – The Columbian

Clark County community members describe how an American ideal has been challenged, changed, confirmed

In this most unusual of years, Independence Day is different, too.

Wrapped in red, white and blue bunting, the holiday commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence. But 2020 has tested the concepts of freedom and responsibility like no other recent year. These themes play through the stories of both the coronavirus pandemic and the struggle against systemic racism.

We reached out to a group of community members and asked them what freedom means to them, and how their perceptions have been challenged, changed or confirmed.

What does freedom mean to you at this unique moment in history?

Freedom for me is being able to go for a jog in the morning, or take my daughters for a walk, or drive to the store without worrying about being targeted by some cop or racist who doesnt know me or cant identify with me because were different.

Freedom is all about having the right to be different.

As a Black man living in a rural part of Clark County, I drive past a confederate flag every day and Im reminded of that lack of appreciation of my freedom.

Is freedom the fear of living in the shadow of someones hate? Is freedom feeling persecuted by those who cling to a past that held people who look like me as slaves? Is freedom the feeling that police target my skin color? Is freedom a president who says white supremacists are good people too? America was founded on a lie that all men are created equal.

More than any other race it has been Black people who have struggled to turn that lie into truth, although our country is pretty far from it right now. People who dont have freedom fight the hardest for it.

Still, I have hope that if we got to know our neighbors who are different from ourselves we would see them as a human beings first.

While my culture and dress may be different than yours, Im a father, a husband and a person.

But you should know that my Independence Day is Juneteenth.

As a child, I learned that America was the freest place on Earth. Anyone could be whatever they wanted, and opportunities were limitless if I put in the effort. I learned that our freedoms of speech, religion and so forth applied to everyone.

As a young adult, I was moved to tears reading Emma Lazarus poem The New Colossus while visiting the Statue of Liberty: Give me your tired, your poor/ Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free/ The wretched refuse of your teeming shore./ Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me .

I was proud of America. I felt fortunate to live in a place that valued and embodied traits like compassion, empathy and acceptance, and took care of its people while welcoming more in.

To be young again, right? Today, I dont see us taking care of our tired, poor and homeless. In fact, I watch unsheltered human beings be herded, like cattle, from one block to the next at the request of those with money, property, power or influence. Freedom seems to be enjoyed only by those able to pay for it. If someone must ask permission to do things needed to survive eat, sleep, use the restroom they are not free. Focusing on our own individual freedoms, autonomy and quality of life has made us angry, entitled, fearful, greedy, depressed and addicted. Weve caused our own suffering by not caring more for each other. We wont experience true freedom until the freedom of others doesnt threaten our own.

As a young boy I learned the meaning of our Fourth of July and the Declaration of Independence from my father, a career naval officer, and through participation in Cub Scouts.

Freedom for me, like many others in our country, is all about democracy, rights, liberty, opportunity and equality. More so, it is about the opportunity for prosperity and success, as well as upward mobility for the family and children, achieved through hard work and commitment. My father, a product of the Great Depression and World War II, stressed the importance that nothing is given to you; you have to work hard for success. As such, our country is among the freest nations on earth; our citizens enjoy tremendous liberty thanks to the way our government was set up by the founders. A democracy is a government in which the people are able to choose our leaders. I followed my father with a career in the U. S. Army.

The Declaration of Independence states that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, including the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. African Americans and women were not considered equal then. Our Constitution and amendments address equality and fairness but there is much to be done especially in our legal system to bring all America, especially African Americans, to a level playing field. I am hopeful.

Because I grew up in a military family, I know the sacrifices countless men, women and their families make. Thank you to all who serve and have served to defend our freedoms in this complex nation we call home. God bless and protect all our active military and veterans!

Ideal freedom is having the ability to choose and to be responsible for the way one feels, acts, reacts and lives ones life. As Americans, we confirm our freedoms when we salute the flag, sing our anthem, cast a vote and join others in celebrating Americas birth, July 4, 1776. The Declaration of Independence defines us as free Americans with the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, with those rights secured by a government that derives its powers from the consent of the governed.

The Constitution embraces our spirit of ideal freedom. The First Amendment grants us the ability to express what we believe, on equal footing. Clark County Citizens United routinely exercises that right with every testimony submitted to the public record. County councilors recently had a packed hearing room full of peaceful equestrians voicing their concerns about infringements to their ideal freedoms.

Americans have shown we are willing to go to great lengths to defend our freedoms and express our beliefs. Our America is a work in progress and is always evolving toward a more ideal and perfect union.

The American ideal of freedom has to be dependent upon the opportunities that have been put in place to level the playing field so that each individual can rise to their full potential.

Since I came to the United States from Kenya in August 2018, I have grown intellectually and socially by making good use of the opportunities that I have had. Speaking of intellectual growth, the education system in the United States is world-class. I was amazed by Washingtons Running Start program that lets high school students take college courses toward an associate degree. That kind of opportunity does not exist in Kenya where I completed my high school education.

Although Im transferring to Washington State University, Clark College is home to me; I have built lasting friendships I will always cherish. While studying at Clark College, I had the honor of serving the students as the president of the student government. In this capacity, I had the privilege of meeting with honorable people who serve in politics and economic development.

Based on my experience, I would say that this is what the American ideal of freedom is like: You are given the opportunity to become who you want to be. And it does not stop there, life is like an onion, you peel each piece fresh and useful. Make good use of each piece and keep growing.

I believe the ideal American freedom is when humanity is not judged by the color of our skin, but by our character.

American freedom is when people have the right to make choices, free of bias. When people have equal access to housing, food, education, employment, and health care rights granted based on a persons merit as a human and without judgment.

Does America achieve this now? No. However, I believe our country has started the journey to strive toward it.

The Black Lives Matter movement that was re-energized by the tragic death of George Floyd is sweeping our country and world. Black lives matter is really a message to humanity that equality improves all lives. An injustice for one is an injustice for all. Unity can fuel change. Love conquers hate. And respect for everyone resolves these issues.

I am so proud of my brothers and sisters who are peacefully demonstrating the message that all lives matter. Equality, justice, unity, love, and respect for all must be present today and must exist for all future generations.

When we reach this level of equality, justice, unity, love, and respect, we will have achieved freedom.

Our Founding Fathers chose an unsurpassed framework of government that is all about freedom.

Our free will is everything. Im not yet forced into an internment camp for practicing Christianity. I enjoy my First and Second Amendments along with We the people government.

Lately, however, anarchists are allowed to rule. Politicians, both left and right, just stand and watch these radicals destroy history, pillage and burn businesses.

We all have sin. But, to make this all work for the human race, we must possess forgiveness as well, and a little love.

I will always stand for my nations flag and forever kneel to God.

My thanks to all our military and law enforcement for standing in harms way that we can celebrate our independence from tyranny. I pray it is not our last.

The American ideal of freedom is being able to speak freely without persecution, being able to express yourself, live and love freely and without fear. But as a woman with brown skin, Im told I have to support certain movements. Im told I have to vote a certain way. But as an American, I know that I have the freedom to say what I want, believe what I choose, and vote for whomever and whatever I think is best.

Today were not doing a good job of fighting for or handing down the American ideal. In some ways it seems like freedom is losing these days. It may seem like freedom is being threatened in America, but in reality, freedom is on the move. The uprise of movements to call for a fundamental change in judicial, political and economic systems, the right to health care, safe affordable housing, clean air and water, self-expression and dignity demonstrate the American ideal of freedom.

As I reflect on the idea of freedom, I am overwhelmed by gratitude for the opportunities that were bestowed upon me in my life. I was born in Ukraine, and have been fortunate enough to experience various cultures and customs while spending time in different parts of the world.

In these unprecedented, challenging times of great uncertainty, fear and anxiousness I cant help but think that the beautiful concepts that make up the American ideal of freedom liberty, equality, opportunity and human rights are now more relevant than ever before on a global scale. Wouldnt it be amazing if humans all over the globe could put aside their differences and work together to make the world a better place for everybody, regardless of geographical location, political affiliations or socioeconomic circumstances?

I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the fall of the Iron Curtain, the destruction of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. It was an incredible experience to see how people from all over the world came together to communicate and cooperate in spite of speaking different languages and having different backgrounds. As borders opened, a tremendously powerful force of creativity and collaboration was unleashed that allowed people to join forces in scientific, cultural and artistic endeavors.

It is my hope that in the aftermath of current tragic and challenging events we can all join our efforts and collectively find a path to a better and brighter future.

To me, in the midst of this disorienting moment in our nations history, freedom is to feel the relief and peace of not having to ask for freedoms others freely enjoy.

In 2012, my now wife and I knocked on doors and begged strangers to fill in a bubble on a mail-in ballot that would let us be legally married. It worked, and in 2013 we became a legal family in our state. Two years later, the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act and in an instant we were legally married across the country. All because Edie Windsor took her case to the nations highest court to ask for equal treatment under federal law to request freedom.

Today, though, so many more people in my world are sincerely and earnestly asking the question: What do others in America have to ASK for, that I have always received? Is it safety to breathe? Opportunity to study or to work? Or grace to be afforded the benefit of the doubt? What am I taking for granted that others are still begging for?

And Im hopeful, because its going to take all of us who are free to thrive in America to recognize what that freedom feels like. To listen when Black and Brown and LGBTQ Americans are begging to live with dignity. For access to health care. For safe working conditions.

And then to fight, together, for those fundamental freedoms to be felt by all. Without asking.
