Wikileaks mastermind Julian Assange has recently defended the press for publishing the truth despite president Trumps recent uptick in inflammatory rhetoric against media outlets for being fake news whenever they release real leaks that are less than flattering to the current administration. <\/p>\n
According to Russia Today: <\/p>\n
Having been accused of helping to get Donald Trump elected, and even being praised by the US president himself for the Hillary Clinton leaks, WikiLeaks founder has criticized Trumps crusade against fake news and low-life leakers. <\/p>\n
The press should never appologise [sic] for publishing true information, Julian Assange tweeted. <\/p>\n
The message was in response to a Trump tweet sent out early on Thursday morning, in which he wrote: <\/p>\n
Leaking, and even illegal classified leaking, has been a big problem in Washington for years. Failing @nytimes (and others) must apologize! <\/p>\n
On Tuesday, the New York Times published a story citing four current and former American officials, whose names were not given which claimed that members of Donald J. Trumps 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election. <\/p>\n
