The next day I left early for Cat ba island first taking a bus from Hanoi to Haiphong and then a ferry to cat ba island and finally a mini bus to Cat ba town.Foolishly I presumed Cat Ba was a sleepy little fishing village where only a few travellers ventured to well this was the impression that lonely planet gave me so I did not bother booking a hotel in advance.
