Yasmin Mogahed lecture: Love and Sacrifice: The story of Ibrahim
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem This lecture was organized by the Muslim Students Association at the Illinois Institute of Technology. The lecture was held on November 3rd, 2012, the week after Eid Ul Adha and Hajj ended. So this lecture focuses on what we can learn from our father Ibrahim (as), how his experiences exemplify the belief in Tauheed (oneness of God), and how we can be mindful of Tauheed in every part and every action in our lives. Yasmin Mogahed received her BS Degree in Psychology and her Masters in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing her graduate work, she taught Islamic Studies and served as the Sisters #39; Youth Director for the Islamic Society of Milwaukee. She also worked as a writing instructor for Cardinal Stritch University, and a staff columnist for the Islam section of InFocus News. Currently she #39;s an instructor for New Dawn Institute, a writer for the Huffington Post, and an internationally published author, where she focuses most of her work on spiritual and personal development. Yasmin just launched her new book, Reclaim Your Heart, which is now available worldwide. We have a limited stock of her book which she will be selling and signing after the lecture insha Allah.
