Melinda Roland presents "What is Cranio Sacral Therapy?" a three contact hour continuing education course for Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapist Assistants, Massage Therapists and Athletic Trainers. During this course, Melinda discusses the physiology and anatomy of the craniosacral system, its function in health, and its relationship to disease process. Lastly current research is discussed to show the clinical significance of CranioSacral Therapy. In the mid 1970s, the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University brought together a team of researchers led by Dr. John E. Upledger. The major premise involved the movement of cranial bones. It was here that Dr. Upledger integrated the role of the craniosacral dura mater and cerebrospinal fluid into a comprehensive model of the CranioSacral System.
