The Neurology and Rehabilitation Team at the University Of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System provides the highestquality to neurological and rehabilitative patient care. Our hospital inpatient services are geared to provide care in all neurological specialties through specialized programs in neurological critical care, stroke and general neurology. Nationally and internationally recognized for many of our programs in patient care and research, we diagnose and treat conditions of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles.

Stroke Unit Our inpatient stroke unit and consultation service is staffed around the clock by a board-certified vascular neurologist and other clinicians. We provide immediate consultation for emergency stroke patients and provide access to intravenous thrombolytic therapy (IVT) and endovascular procedures such as clot retrieval devices, angioplasty and stenting.

Neurological Critical Care Unit Our critical care neurologists are experts in managing a myriad of neurological emergencies and maintaining remote access to patient brain scans and other key diagnostic results. A large neuroscience critical care unit allows us to emphasize a high quality of care for those who need board-certified experts by their side.

General Neurology Our doctors are recognized for the management of general neurological problems such as Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Brain tumors, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer disease, neuropathies, ALS Clinic, and Myasthenia Gravis.

Neuromuscular Disease Leading national experts staff these patient clinics and provide opportunities for patients to participate in clinical trials for new therapies and treatments for diseases such as ALS, Myasthenia Gravis, Peripheral Neuropathy, Muscular Dystrophy and Other Muscle Diseases. The ALS Foundation and Muscular Dystrophy Association recognize our neuromuscular disease clinics.

Stroke We specialize in treatment and prevention of all forms of stroke including brain infarcts, hemorrhage, aneurysm, Anterior Venious Malformation (AVM), genetic and metabolic causes of stroke. We also specialize in fibromuscular dysplasia, CADASIL, stroke in women, vascular dementia and stroke in sickle cell disease.

Memory & Aging Clinic The UI Health Memory & Aging Clinic diagnoses and treat patients with memory disorders, difficulties with language, and cognitive disorders such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, traumatic brain injury and behavioral disorders associated with these conditions.

Epilepsy Our epilepsy center houses a world famous EEG Laboratory, recognized by the State of Illinois for excellence. Our board-certified electrophysiologists diagnose and treat patients with first seizures, loss of consciousness spells of uncertain cause, difficult to control epilepsy and other transient or periodic neurological disorders.

General Neurology We are staffed to treat many of the above disorders and in addition, specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of dizziness/vertigo, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, headache and other neurologic disorders.

Headache We are staffed for the diagnosis and treatment of tension, migraine, cluster headaches and other forms of head or facial pain.

Our physicians sit on major national advisory boards in stroke, neuromuscular diseases, epilepsy/EEG, brain trauma, neuropsychology and neuro-cognitive rehabilitation, general neurology and other related areas. Many have also been recognized by the U.S. National Institutes of Health, Center for Disease Control & Prevention and major foundations for their clinical and research work in the advancement of the care and treatment of neurological disorders.
