Well, let me tell you a story from a little over 10 years ago when I had only been working in college finance for about 3 years. I was meeting with a family of four. Dad was a farmer, and mom was a high school teacher. They had a daughter and a son. The daughter was early in her senior year in high school and was making plans for her transition to college. They had invited me to their home after attending one of my area seminars. You can see that information in my online webinar, College Finance 101. I gathered their information, and then went back to my office to work on a plan with the goal of minimizing costs for their kid #39;s college educations. I got back together with the parents a week later to go over the plan I had put together. As I was describing the roadmap I had prepared, something very unusual happened. They both started crying. I really didn #39;t know what to think. I stopped my presentation and asked if there was something wrong and if we should reschedule. The wife then told me the following... no there is nothing wrong, but we should tell you something that we haven #39;t even told the kids yet.
