Seiko #39;s have an excellent craftsmanship and longevity reputation2. It was under 1003. It has a hardlex face (tempered mineral crystal, much harder than just a mineral)4. It #39;s an automatic5. It was the most elegantly simple and classy choice out of all of the ones I #39;d seen with a metal band (my preference, for its durability.)I bought it to temporarily replace the 100 quartz-movement (battery powered) Skagen that I #39;d just had to send in to get repaired, because its cheap "mineral" crystal broke. It scratched soon after I got it, and with a small bump to the watch face, the scratch turned into a spidering crack that eventually shattered the face. So, don #39;t buy watches with mineral or glass crystals!But I digress...I wasn #39;t sure what to expect when I bought this watch, because I was buying it from a 3rd party Amazon seller, it was pretty darned inexpensive, and it had no reviews. But the watch came fairly quickly, and being USPS was able to be delivered to my mailbox (instead of Amazon #39;s UPS, where I have to go pick up every single package 3 cities away.)
