100 year plus lifespans celebrated in eastern China: With some 270 people over the age of 100 in its population of 1.45 million, the United Nations has designated Rugao City in eastern China a homeland of longevity. The city drew more than 20 foreign diplomats in late September; the visitors met local centenarians, and shared their views on how to support the aged. Israeli diplomat Gabriel Shemouny: "If the children take care of their parents, the parents will have a good life. If not, they will have to suffer a little bit.
