Dr. Shaw #39;s response: "Idiopathic thrombocytopenia Purpura is also known as ITP or Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura. Idiopathic thrombocytopenic Purpura is classified as an autoimmune disease with symptoms of low platelet counts, bruising, Petechiae, poor coagulation function and overall low platelets. According to western medicine, the cause of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura is unknown. Platelet count tests are performed to identify this disease. The average healthy person has 150000 to 300000 blood platelets in each milliliter of blood. People testing below 150000 may be given an ITP diagnoses and platelet counts as low as 1000 platelets are possible in individuals with ITP In Western Medicine, there is no recognized natural treatment or cure for this disease. Most Western medicine treatments for ITP can include steroids (prednisone), Intravenous immunoglobulin also known as IVIg, platelet transfusions or even splenectomy.
