Chamomile tea: Reduce your risk of dying by regularly drinking this tea – EconoTimes

Did you know that chamomile tea can reduce your risk of death no matter what may cause it?

We all want to lead a healthier and longer life. Who doesn't? All the more now that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has shown us how fragile our lives are and how death can easily come and snuff it.

The pandemic has sure made all of us take a long and hard look at our health and made us realized why it is important that we take care of ourselves and not wait for something to happen to prompt us to do so.

Staying healthy and prolonging your life span takes a lifelong commitment. You have to be committed to a healthy lifestyle.

A healthy lifestyle would mean adhering to a healthy diet and regular exercise. Not the restrictive diet but a diet plan that teaches you to be mindful of what food and drink you take into your body in moderation. And, not the hardcore exercise but just 30 minutes of physical activity every day.

However, this is easier said than done. It takes determination to stick with this plan to the very end.

Thankfully, there are small things that you can do to boost your plan of longevity. And, these things are also backed by science.

One such example is the research that found that drinking chamomile tea can reduce your risk of dying from all causes.

Chamomile tea is made from dried flowers that are similar to daisies and belong to the plant family of Asteraceae.

While chamomile tea is known to have plenty of health benefits, one study found that the drink is linked to having a longer life.

The study, which was published in the Gerontologist journal, found that Mexican-American women aged 65 and above had reduced their risk of death from whatever causes after drinking chamomile tea in a span of seven years.

The association between chamomile tea and decreased mortality, however, is unclear.

But, several studies have linked the chamomile tea to lowering the risk for heart diseases, high cholesterol, and diabetes.

Chamomile tea is also known to promote sleep and treat insomnia, boosts immunity, treat colds, reduces muscle spasms and period pain, soothes stomachache, treats cuts, wound and skin conditions, reduces stress, lightens skin, reduces acne, helps in anti-aging, treats sunburn, reduces dark circles under the eye and gets rid of dandruff.
