Voices for Children of San Antonio
Voices for Children of San Antonio is a research and advocacy organization committed to making young children #39;s issues a priority in the San Antonio community. Established in 1996 as A Vision for Children, the founding Board was comprised of providers of children #39;s services, as well as business, foundation and academic representatives, all advocates whose mission was, and is, to improve the quality of life for children in our community and to make San Antonio the best city in the nation to be a child. In 2001 the organization incorporated as a separate 501-c-3 non- profit organization, committed to improving the quality of life for San Antonio #39;s children through research, strategic planning, advocacy and action. A Vision for Children became a member of Voices for America #39;s Children as Voices for Children of San Antonio. Research shows that children #39;s learning and development--indeed their future lives--are strongly influenced during their early years from birth through age five. That #39;s why Voices focuses on improving the circumstances, well-being and education of youngest children. Voices for Children networks nearly 2000 community stakeholders from more than 500 organizations, working to improve the quality of live for San Antonio #39;s kids. Our broad areas of interest include abuse and neglect; early care and education; and infant/child safety health care.
