Mike Schmidt and his father, Gene, share their experience when Mike had the flu in February, 2011, and was flown to Penn State Hershey to be put on Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) therapy. EMCO therapy removes poorly oxygenated blood from the patient, externally oxygenates it through the ECMO circuit, and then returns it to the patient
