The gardening club at the allotments are holding a bonfire on the 5th November, to which I not complaining about. What I am worried about is the way their allowed to do it. Stoke on Trent #39;s Council should ban these bonfires on the grounds of environmental grounds. This bonfire I believe is a now a habitat pile and is now a home for beneficial animals like the Hedgehog and insects, not to mention the eco system it builds up quickly around it. This Bonfire will be so big it will, I believe will also cause damage to the surrounding native hedgerow and the wildlife within. Not for this year but for several years to come, just when the insects need us most. Why not move it somewhere else, surely these are laws saying you can #39;t have a bonfire so close a native hedgerow?
