Former Workington Comets captain Richard Lawson will be back at Derwent Park tomorrow aiming to inflict defeat on his old club in their opening Premier League match of the season.

Richard Lawson

Lawson, who was last seasons captain, will guest for Peterborough Panthers tomorrow as both sides get their Premier League campaigns under way.

The Maryport-born racer was sold by Comets at the start of the year to Elite League outfit Lakeside and a buy-back clause has been added to Lawsons contract, which can be activated after the 2014 season.

He has been in excellent form so far this season for both Lakeside and Premier League team Redcar Bears.

Lawson has been drafted in by Peterborough to replace injured American number one Ryan Fisher.

Comets owner Laura Morgan said: Its going to be a tough one. We fully expect them to be strong opponents. They have been made stronger by having Richard Lawson as a guest.

Its a belter of a guest to bring to Workington. Peterborough will be strong opponents anyway. No disrespect to Fisher, but Lawson as a guest makes them even stronger.
