To protect its Second Amendment rights, a handgun manufacturer is blasting Liam Neeson for exercising his First Amendment rights. "Theres too many f--king guns out there," the actor said recently. "I think the (U.S.) population is like 320 million. Theres over 300 million guns privately owned in America. I think its a f--king disgrace."

In response, North Carolina-based PARA USA which supplied guns Neesons hit film "Taken 3" but now regrets its decision is calling on the firearms industry not to provide guns to his movies. SC lawmaker fighting to bring gun education to classrooms

A South Carolina lawmaker is fighting to bring Second Amendment education to classrooms. Representative Alan Clemmons proposed the bill to change the zero tolerance gun policy in schools across the state.

The bill proposes that three weeks out of a school year schools will teach students gun rights and gun safety. Representative Clemmons said students will benefit from this curriculum.

They can learn about sex, so why can't they learn about guns? I think whenever it's appropriate they learn about that, they should be able to learn about guns," parent Iva Lands said.

Lands is on board with the Second Amendment Act of 2015.

If you teach a child how to use it properly, you're not going to have the accidents. If you educate them, you're going in the right direction," she said.

Others said it's not the school's responsibility to educate students on guns, nor teach them how to use it.

Those that do grow up around guns, the parent should be responsible enough to teach them up until old enough to understand. I really like my child taught that in school," parent Sandra Hodges said.

Rep. Clemmons said the purpose of the bill would allow students to express the second amendment at schools without fear of punishment.

If anything comes up in a school setting that has to do with firearms, then it's a suspendable offense and criminal charges can ensue," he said.

He believes if the state doesn't educate students on their right to bear arms, and teach them how to practice the amendment safely, there will be repercussions.

'Second Amendment Education Act' seeks gun rights curriculum in S.C. schools

A South Carolina state lawmaker wants students to celebrate gun rights in schools, so he introduced the Second Amendment Education Act, which designates Dec. 15 as Second Amendment Awareness Day and requires instruction on the right to bear arms for at least three consecutive weeks in the school year.

Rep. Alan Clemmons, a Myrtle Beach Republican, was motivated to write the bill after a 16-year-old South Carolina high school student was suspended and arrested for a fictional essay he wrote about buying a gun and shooting a neighbors pet dinosaur.

One of the stipulations in Mr. Clemmons bill requires schools to conduct essay contests with Second Amendment themes and provide recognition for statewide contest winners.

Zero-tolerance [gun] policies have squelched discussion and teaching of the Second Amendment in schools, Mr. Clemmons told The Washington Times.

If not addressed, a zero-tolerance attitude could create a generation that doesnt understand the Second Amendment and views firearms as evil even if used by law-abiding citizens, he said.

Not everyone agrees.

Shannon Argueta, a liberal blogger often critical of guns, called the bill alarming and said she doubted a curriculum pushed by NRA supporters Mr. Clemmons is a longtime member would be balanced.

I find the idea of having a school pushing pro-gun propaganda for the NRA to be pretty alarming, said Ms. Argueta, a Florida mom with a 10-year-old son.
