The Complete Guide to Scout’s tips and advice for FPL Gameweek 36+ – Fantasy Football Scout

Welcome to the Fantasy Football Scout Guide to Gameweek 36+. Todays deadline is at 19:15 BST still time to consider those all important transfer and captaincy decisions.

Following a Gameweek in which many differential options scored well, managers are on the lookout for the next opportunity to help them climb the ranks.

The two outstanding bets appear to be a flutter on the Pep Roulette or a fired-up Chelsea against an already-relegated Norwich City.

A total of six players from these teams feature in the Scout Picks.

Since the restart, Manchester City have been creating by far the best chances of any Premier League side. Their expected goals total of 19.21 is way ahead of the second-best team for this statistic, Chelsea, on 12.73.

But we dont need stats to tell us City are a good bet the problem is picking the right player.

Joe stunned Az and Andy on the Scoutcast this week when the typically safe and unadventurous manager revealed he is looking to sign and captain David Silva.

And Joe is not alone in coveting El Mago.

Gran Canarias most successful footballing export is picked out by Pro Pundit Tom Freeman in his regular differentials piece.

After being omitted from the starting line-up against Brighton, he is fancied to start against a Bournemouth side missing influential centre-back Nathan Ak.

Since the restart, and bearing in mind hes been limited to just four starts, Silva has had more opposition half touches than any other teammate. He also sits top for successful passes in the final third, and second for chances created and big chances created.

At under five per cent ownership, the Spanish playmaker looks to be this weeks standout differential.

However, in Davids Captain Sensible article, its the Brazilian Jesus who tops a number of key stats.

Over his last four matches, Azs favourite player has taken 16 shots inside the box, including six big chances.

And while opponents Bournemouth have been better at the back in recent games than one might expect, that really shouldnt put us off:

The four teams who have most recently faced Manchester City are all in the bottom half for this statistic, especially Brighton and Newcastle, whose xGC scores took a battering during a battle with Guardiolas relentless attackers.

Of course the big question is who will start for City?

As mentioned, David Silva is widely expected to be named in the starting XI but nothing is certain with Seor Guardiola.

To help us, site moderator Legoman has put together a useful colour-coded matrix:

Detailing the minutes played by each key asset, it gives us a clue about what we might expect against Bournemouth.

Its also worth keeping in mind that following their outing against the Cherries on Wednesday, Peps troops have just two days rest before their important cup semi-final against Arsenal. A match in which the rotating Catalan is sure to name his strongest line-up.

Frank Lampard was fuming after his sides defeat at Sheffield United.

They were better than us physically, in the mind and with the ball, so you lose the game. They were stronger than us. We dont have crowds at the minute so you hear every voice and all I could hear was Sheffield United voices, so they were stronger in that sense.

Fair to say we can expect a reaction against Norwich City.

And following Daniel Farkes sides capitulation at the hands of West Ham and a delighted Michail Antonio in particular the Blues are expected to profit.

Willian and Christian Pulisic would appear to offer the best routes into the Chelsea attack. David notes:

If Willian is going to play, he seems the most complete Chelsea asset when weighed up across all the categories. He is the most creative, competes reasonably with Pulisic and the two forwards for shots in the box but gets bigger chances and is more accurate than the American.

Managers could benefit from early team news ahead of todays deadline, and that could bring Olivier Giroud or Tammy Abraham into the equation.

The pair have shared minutes since the restart. But a place in the first XI for either would surely mark them out as an enticing differential, albeit not one that would be a reliable starter for the remainder of the season.

And lets not forget West Ham and Antonio. The out-of-position midfielder is thriving in the centre-forwards role, and his promising underlying stats ahead of the Canaries clash persuaded well-known Scoutcasters to invest.

Greyhead was his usual puntastic-self in the latest installment of The Great and the Good. The chronicler of the FPL Rat Pack reported on the positive rank swings for Az and Andy, who both benefited from Antonios incredible haul. The Hammers talisman remains a differential at just 3.4 per cent ownership.

Southampton scored the last goal of Gameweek 35+ to level the scores at Old Trafford. The Saints started strongly with Stuart Armstrong scoring the opening goal of the evening.

But while the Scot has been putting in some excellent performances of late producing attacking returns in four of his last six matches the focus for many is on Danny Ings.

Still in the race for the Golden Boot four goals behind Jamie Vardy he has the backing of his manager Ralph Hasenhuttl. Speaking after the win over Watford in Gameweek 32+, the Saints boss enthused:

I think anything is possible [with regards to the race for the Golden Boot]. We will play with him the last six games and then he will have six chances to score. If he gets the chance you can see how fantastic his finishing is at the moment. He seems fitter than ever. He was very hard working in the shutdown and that gives him now fantastic physical options.

However, the demands of the fixture schedule is giving FPL managers pause for thought.

Pro Pundit Zophar updated us on the varying rest periods for Premier League teams in this latest offering. Southamptons harsh schedule could make the six-time top 5,000 boss reconsider his planned move:

I was originally thinking of doing the Jamie Vardy to Ings move but the Saints congested schedule has me a bit worried. Ings has been a machine of late but his fitness issues in the past are well documented and will they possibly flare up again with matches so close? The Saints pressing style could suffer too with low recovery periods. Something to ponder.

Selling Jamie Vardy is a dilemma for many in the community.

Maximus Bonimus Pointimus sought opinion in a hot topic Leicesters fixtures and a number of first-team absentees could potentially see the Golden Boot leader shown the door.

Compared to Peps squad spinning, Ole Gunnar Solskjr is wonderfully reliable. The Norwegian named an unchanged side for the fifth game running against Southampton.

Although selecting the right three to own still requires some thought, with a number of options vying for a place in our squads. Pro Pundit Sam invited opinion on the ideal trio in the comments section.

Meanwhile, TheFantasyFreK shared his insights in his regular Gameweek review. Top of the agenda was just how unlucky Mohamed Salah-owners had been:

Salah recorded as many big chances as Sterling (two each) and in fact, fared better for shots in the box (four vs three) and minutes per expected goal involvement (66 vs 74).

With impressive underlying stats the Egyptian tallied eight shots in his previous outing against Brighton Salah remains a contender for the captaincy.

Dont forget to check out the latest Team News and Predicted Line-ups brought to us by Neale and, as usual, G-Whizz has been kind enough to supply the best odds of a clean sheet.

Lastly, a heads up that the penultimate FPL deadline of the season is this coming Saturday at 16:30 BST.

A full round-up of community competitions will follow this article.

How to Play Roulette and Always Win – TheUSBport

Roulette is a game based on luck and theres not a single formula to win at it. The same case applies to gamble in general, so roulette is not an exception. To win at roulette, you must first learn the basics. Beware of how the roulette wheel spin, understand the table structure, and the numbering therein. This gambling game like all the rest gives the house an edge over the player. Even if the player wins in the short run, the house always has an advantage in the long run.

Gaming professionals will advise you to always focus on playing roulette for fun, other than making money. If you expect to spin the roulette wheel to earn you a living, disappointment awaits you.

Another secret about playing roulette is to ensure you control your gambling habit. You do not want to experience massive losses after betting all your money away. As much as the game is addictive, ensure that you limit the money you use to bet.

Do you want to know how exactly to be successful at roulette and stand better chances of winning money? I will outline some tips that can increase your odds in the game. Its not necessarily a sure bet that when you apply them you will win. However, these tips will place you a notch higher in succeeding at roulette.

Roulette shouldnt be hard for you as a beginner if you invest some time in practice. The game provides a free version where you can sharpen your skills before playing for real money. If you choose the free version of roulette, you will access free credit that you can use to familiarize yourself with how the game is played.

European roulette should always be your choice of roulette since it has better odds than its counterpart the American roulette. This means that the latter with its single zero pose a chance of wins at 37/1 while the former at 38/1. American roulette always gives the house an edge. So, if European roulette is unavailable, choose not to play roulette to prevent losing money.

What to Consider When you Place Your First Bet

Roulette is a great pastime game once you master how its done. Practicing how to place bets is one step towards achieving success in the game. So, when you place your first bet you have to consider some points;

Choose the right table

Roulette has various tables therefore its up to you to choose the right one. The European roulette table is the best since it will give you an edge over the house. Avoid the American roulette table as its associated with loss of money since it gives the house an edge over you. Check theGclub Grand casino instead.

Start with basic bets and improve them as you progress

When placing your first bet, dont combine bets at first. If you are betting on a color, stick to it. Then when you have mastered the art, you can combine the bets. Hence, you can bet on numbers, colors, and evens at a go.

Where to Practice Roulette Before You Bet Real Money

There are a variety of sites to practice free roulette. They include American Roulette Mobile, European Roulette Mobile, Euro Roulette Gold, Roulette Pro Low Limit, among others. Such sites offer you free versions of roulette so you can hone your skills. Additionally, they guide you on playing the game to the best of your ability. Thus, once you are ready to beat real money, you are good to go and try it on 918kiss.

Free roulette is also good because in case you are an addict to gambling, you wont lose a lot of money. So, whether you are a veteran or a novice, free roulette is available for you. Through it, you can always make yourself an expert in roulette.

‘People are willing to play Russian roulette with their familys lives’: Doctor slams behavior in US – FOX 10 News Phoenix

Everyone needs to wear a mask, emergency doctor says

Dr. Hilary Fairbrother, an emergency medicine physician in Texas, discusses the importance of mask-wearing amid the pandemic.

TUCSON, Ariz. - As coronavirus cases continue to climb in dozens of U.S. states, an emergency medicine doctor in Arizona described the devastating situation in hospitals and the dire toll the pandemic has taken on health care workers, who are being stretched to their limits.

We intubated a 26-year-old this last week. We had three members of one family in an ICU. Its devastating. It feels like people are willing to play Russian roulette with their familys lives, said Dr. Brad Dreifuss, an emergency physician and public health specialist in Tucson, Arizona.

The country began the month of July with cases climbing in 40 states and reported its three highest daily case totals since the pandemic began in the spring, according to data compiled by the New York Times.

The surge in new cases, including in states like Arizona, Florida, Texas and California, has been blamed in part on Americans not wearing masks or obeying other social-distancing rules. The rising cases has prompted some governors to halt the reopening of businesses or to order others to re-close.

We have interventions that reduce spread from one person to another, like masking and physical distancing. I dont understand why people risk infecting their loved ones with a potentially deadly disease, a disease we know has long-term health effects for those who survive it, Dreifuss said, adding that even asymptomatic people can suffer from reduced lung function.

RELATED: Today is day 93: People report experiencing COVID-19 symptoms that last for months

On Monday, Dreifuss state of Arizona crossed an alarming milestone in the pandemic, becoming the eighth state to surpass more than 100,000 cases. State health officials said more than half of the reported COVID-19 cases are in people younger than 44.

Additionally, officials said last week that 89% of Arizonas ICU beds were full.

We have had patients backed up into the Emergency Department, waiting for a bed to open in the ICU, but all the beds were full or there wasnt enough staff available to care for the patients, Dreifuss said, who works as the director of rural and global emergency medicine programs at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

Efforts are being made to open overflow units and add additional bed capacity, but even if we add spaces to put sick people, our staff is still stretched thin, he added.

Dreifuss has been living apart from his wife and daughter for months to prevent infecting them. He recently penned a poignant op-ed for the New York Times describing how close health care workers are to breaking amid staffing shortages that have plagued the industry years before the novel coronavirus.

Dreifuss said further movement toward a corporate, for-profit health care model over the past two decades in the U.S. has resulted in a lack of preparedness in the face of COVID-19.

Staffing decisions have been made with an eye to maximizing a profit margin by minimizing the size of the health care workforce. As a result, we have a health care workforce that is already strained, working at unsustainable levels of intensity with limited staffing resources in the name of productivity. Add COVID-19 to that situation and you have a recipe for disaster, he said.

The strain on front-line workers led to the formation of a Tucson-based program called HCW Hosted, spearheaded by Dreifuss and other health care professionals. The coalition aims to help health care workers find suitable housing to isolate from their families and provide emotional support, among other initiatives.

We have a Veterans Affairs department at the highest levels of government to support our military and military families, Dreifuss said. Why should healthcare workers and their families be left unsupported when they risk their lives and health in the battle against a pandemic disease, like COVID-19?

RELATED: CoronavirusNOW.com, FOX launches national hub for COVID-19 news and updates

On the heels of the Fourth of July, Dreifuss said the country needs to unify around the patriotic project of decreasing the spread of COVID-19 calling protective measures such as wearing a mask and keeping physical distance patriotic acts.

Dreifuss is also among a number of public health officials calling for a more effective strategy as a nation to test, contact trace and quarantine.

In countries around the world where mask-wearing is seen as patriotic, they arent seeing the same kind of economic and human toll that we are in the United States, Dreifuss said. Frankly, by resisting masks and physical distancing, we are weakening America.

Will the schools open? Behind that unanswerable question lies a national catastrophe – Salon

Here's what we know about whether it's safe or practical to send millions of American kids and teenagers back to school for the fall term, which in some districts begins in just over a month: Nothing.

Parents, teachers, school administrators and elected officials are I mean, pick your clich: We're lost. (I'm a public school parent in New York City, so I'll go with the first-person plural.) We're wandering in the desert without a map as darkness falls, or perhaps trying to find an invisible needle in a burning haystack, which is threatening to set the entire barn on fire. As Robin Cogan, a school nurse in Camden, New Jersey, told the New York Times: "It feels like we're playing Russian roulette with our kids and our staff."

She's right: It's a "Deer Hunter"-style game of Russian roulette, played blindfolded under conditions of complete chaos. For reasons of their own, which are of course entirely self-interested and poorly thought-out, President Trump and Betsy DeVos, his Dickens-villain education secretary, are pushing all public and private schools to open all the way for all students, five days a week. Like every other Trumpian strategy relating to the coronavirus pandemic, that won't work and is a terrible idea. Its only saving grace is that the federal government plays only a minor role in managing public education, which is one of those things a lot of liberals lament in more "normal" times and should be grateful for now.

One of the great ironies of this painful situation is that many of those liberals, for understandable and in many ways admirable reasons, are also eager to see schools reopen and have put themselves in the darkly hilarious position of urging us not to reject the evil Trumpian plan just because it's an evil Trumpian plan proposed by literally the worst people ever. And look, let's agree on some stuff here.

It would be better for the mental and physical health and intellectual development of nearly all children for them to be in school. Hardly any kids have enjoyed sitting at home struggling with "online learning" models that almost entirely suck and for many kids, especially those with special needs and those in low-income families or immigrant households, online instruction hasn't worked at all.

To state the obvious: People like me, or like my former colleague Michelle Goldberg, a prominent voice in the "schools must reopen" chorus meaning middle-class parents with resources and options are not bearing the brunt of this disaster. It sucks for us too, but one way or another, my kids and Michelle's will be OK. (We don't know the details of "OK" right now, which is distressing, but whatever.) Keeping kids out of school puts an unsustainable burden on all working families, but especially on working-class or poor families and communities of color. And that burden disproportionately falls on women, affecting their ability to make a living, pursue an education or build career opportunities.

All of that is true and devastating and tragic. But that left-liberal social-theory worldview is exactly what led New York Mayor Bill de Blasio to delay closing the city's public schools in March, a decision that quite plausibly cost thousands of lives. It has driven much of the New York Times coverage of this issue, which leans hard on the proposition again, a defensible and understandable one that public education is a foundational element of any social justice agenda. It fueled one of the most ludicrous Times editorials in that institution's troubled recent history, which began by announcing that "American children need public schools to reopen in the fall," and concluded by admitting that probably would not and could not happen on any large scale.

If you've been waiting since the first paragraph to inform me that in fact we know considerably more than "nothing," and that there's fairly strong evidence that young children don't easily catch the coronavirus, tend not to get sick if they do catch it, and do not appear to spread it to others thank you and, yes, that's true. (When it comes to high school kids, the picture is nowhere near as clear.) But honestly, that argument like the "public schools are central to democracy" argument feels like a tangential issue right now, and a classic example of the liberal tendency to compartmentalize and avoid the bigger questions.

Yes, various other countries have reopened their schools, with greater or lesser degrees of success. That's gone pretty well in most of Europe, although Hong Kong and Israel, two very different kinds of places, had to shutter the schools again after renewed outbreaks. But no other country, anywhere in the world, has tried to do the unbelievably stupid thing the United States is apparently about to do: Reopen the schools, in piecemeal, half-baked, "let's put on a show" fashion, while the pandemic is still surging and has clearly not yet crested, and without any semblance of a national strategy to control it.

There's a central flaw in the left-liberal "schools must open" logic, which is so obvious we hardly ever talk about it. All of this rests on the fundamental assumption that a neoliberal "market" economy is the natural order of things, and that real solutions that might make this situation manageable for parents, students, teachers and employers are simply off the table. Another kind of society might have a national child care policy and a national health care policy in place, which might require some emergency augmentation but would already be there. It might authorize direct, continuing payments to parents forced out of work because their kids are at home or, what the hell, even to parents who can continue to work from home but would like to preserve what remains of their sanity and occasionally get some sleep.

We appear to be stuck in a circular conundrum, which everyone can perceive but no one can fix: Kids have to go to school because their parents have to go to work, because that's the only way society can possibly function but none of that stuff is possible amid a massive public health emergency that seems to be getting worse rather than better, especially under a federal government whose official policy is that reality does not exist.

Given all that, what will actually happen? Nobody knows, but it won't be good. Most big school districts, including New York's by far the largest in the country are trying to cobble together some version of "blended" or "hybrid" learning, which means a combination of limited, socially-distanced in-person instruction and the largely disastrous online-learning experiment of the spring.

Some districts in especially hard-hit areas, including Miami and Phoenix, have made clear they will almost certainly begin the year with online instruction only and as inadequate as that is in educational, social and psychological terms, I can't see how they could make any other choice. In Palm Beach County, the president's nominal place of residence, officials have said the entire school year will probably be online and if that's not a giant FU to the lord of Mar-a-Lago, I don't know what would be.

But the bigger picture isn't even as coherent as that sounds. Most school districts still have no idea whether they'll open the doors in the fall, or to what extent, or whether any of their throwing-spaghetti-at-the-wall instructional plans will actually work. The teachers union in Los Angeles, the second-largest district in the nation and one of the worst pandemic hotspots of the summer has officially called for schools to remain closed in the fall, with the overwhelming support of its membership. With Mayor Eric Garcetti clearly on the verge of ordering another shutdown, it appears unlikely that any L.A. students will attend school this year.

A hundred miles south in San Diego, officials not long ago confidently announced a "detailed plan," developedin consultation with public health experts, that would allow them to reopen all schools at the end of August. But that was during the moment of California hubris, when the state appeared to have weathered the COVID storm and begun moving into a measured reopening. Over the last week or so, San Diego County has reported about 500 new cases a day, and dozens of uncontrolled "community outbreaks." The teachers union there has gently expressed "concern" that the school district's plan does not appear to involve smaller class sizes, improved ventilation or increased testing capacity and that there's no funding for any of that stuff.

Teachers unions in New York, Chicago and other large cities haven't taken clearpositions yet, but the possibility of a widespread refusal to return to work appears very real. There's a growing sentiment among teachers, principals and many elected officials that schools should not even try to reopen in any given locality until coronavirus case numbers are declining and "community spread" is clearly under control. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner put it succinctly over the weekend: "It makes no sense"to consider sending children in his city back to school, given the scale of the current crisis. Under that standard, probably only the Northeast Corridor states would currently qualify for reopening but given the horrific experience those of us in the New York metropolitan area endured through the early spring, there's not much appetite for taking on unknown risk.

Who wants to stand up right now and tell me that this is the greatest nation in the world? Because that has gone from highly debatable to an objectively cruel falsehood. Along with all the conflicting arguments and ambiguous public-health evidence, we face the transmutation of what ought to be a straightforward (if challenging) question of social policy into a culture-war issue because absolutely goddamn everything in 2020 America has to be a culture-war issue. (I stood in a supermarket in upstate New York this weekend looking at the stacks of beer cartons on the floor and realized that they presented a culture-war issue: Coors Light, or some overpriced, overly-hoppy IPA with zany graphics on the box? If there's a neutral space in that conflict, it's probably Heineken which was sold out.)

The fact that we do not have the slightest f**king idea how to send 60 million-plus American kids back to school safely amid a worsening pandemic isn't just an inconvenience, or an impediment to a return to economic normalcy which is just not a thing we can have right now, people, and pretending it might somehow be possible is not helping.

It's a social catastrophe whose effects will be far-reaching and unknowable. It's a national humiliation, one of many in this period of rapid American decline or implosion. It's a giant flashing ALL-CAPS sign, directed at adults of all backgrounds and dispensations and political parties, informing us that we have failed in our primary responsibility of creating the best possible options and opportunities for those who will still be here when we're gone.

MDH: Don’t even think about holding a ‘COVID party’ to get exposed – Bring Me The News

Pixabay

Health officials in Minnesota have warned people considering holding "COVID parties" to expose themselves to the virus to think again, saying they could be playing "Russian Roulette" with their safety.

Minnesota Department of Health Director of Infectious Diseases Kris Ehresmann says the department has heard "from various sources" that there are talks of groups of people organizing such parties, "presumably to get COVID at time more convenient to them."

This is similar to the "chickenpox parties" some parents held for their children before the vaccine for the disease was approved, and apparently is now being considered for COVID among younger Minnesotans, prompting a warning during the Wednesday COVID-19 MDH briefing.

"If you're thinking, 'let's just do this and get it over with,' it's really playing Russian Roulette," Ehresmann said.

She said that while cases of COVID-19 affecting younger people aren't typically as severe, "this does not mean younger individuals do not have serious illness."

"We've had at least three deaths in healthy people in their 20s," she said. "So this is something we are very concerned about."

With the pandemic only about six months old, health officials around the world are still learning more about the effects of COVID-19.

At this stage, it's not known whether you can be re-infected with COVID-19 having already had it.

There have been early studies that suggest antibodies to the virus diminish after two months from recovery, while a study of 61,000 people in Spain found that only 5 percent had COVID antibodies, a long way from the 60-70 percent required to develop herd immunity.

The comments from MDH come in the same week that the city of Edina has warned young people to limit their exposure to others, after a surge in cases among young people in the city.

Sign up for our BREAKING NEWS newsletters

The health department confirmed that surge Wednesday, saying contact tracing found that those infected have attended house parties, bonfires, and cabin weekends, while some sports teams have reported exposures albeit some of those infected on said sports teams have also attended house parties and cabin weekends.

Ehresmann also said there have been multiple positive cases traced back to a "very large party held in late June in Edina."

"We recognize and appreciate the mayor's admonition to young people to ensure they are practicing social distancing," she said. "We want to acknowledge as well that this surge in young people is not restricted to Edina, young people from across state are accounting for the bulk of cases in the last two weeks."

Ehresmann said bars and restaurants continue to be a "significant source of exposure" in younger people, which follows several instances of multiple cases being traced back to bars in Minneapolis, Mankato, and St. Cloud.

Roulette Myths – Common Myths About Roulette That Gamblers Believe – BestUSCasinos.org

Red, black, or take a gamble hoping to hit it big? For many players who step up to the roulette table, these are the decisions that will make or break the trip.

Roulette has grown to be one of the most popular games on the casino floor, and for good reason. Its easy to understand, the hands go quickly (but not too quickly), and the odds are very favorable.

Even as its popularity has grown, some misconceptions do still exist. In this article, Ill explain the top 4 commonly-believed roulette myths that should stop today.

Most people in America are accustomed to the standard version of the game that has numbers 1-36 with a 0 and 00 on the wheel as well. You might be surprised to know that there are actually other versions of the game available. Not just that, but they provide better odds to players.

Here are a few examples of real money roulette options that can be found in casinos around the world. Note that just because a certain version is named after a country/region, that doesnt mean its only found in that country/region.

These are the roulette offerings out there with American being excluded:

The European form of roulette is very similar to the American version but with one very noticeable difference. Instead of having a 0 and 00, theres just one 0 space. This might not seem all that significant, but when you consider that the houses edge is typically just the 0 spaces, it means European roulette has only 50% of the house edge that American roulette does.

Frances take on the game might actually be one of the first casino games that ever existed. In fact, some refer to French roulette as the queen of casino play.

Just as in European Roulette, theres only one 0. One major difference, however, is that in French roulette there are fewer betting options. French Roulette is less common than European and American roulette in many areas of the world, but if you do stumble upon the French version, make sure you know the rules beforehand.

If you really want to take things to the next level, try your luck at multi-wheel roulette. This game involves only one table, but multiple roulette wheels are simultaneously in use.

The choice is yours in terms of how many wheels you want to play at once. Then, your single bet is multiplied by the amount of wheels you have chosen to play. For example, if you bet on 3 wheels, you put in 3 times your bet and have 3 chances to win or lose.

Multi-wheel roulette is exciting and presents a nice opportunity for some big wins, but make sure youre staying on top of your plays things can get out of hand quick!

Just as you might have guessed from the name, multiplayer roulette simply is roulette with a group. Whereas normally bettors wouldnt be gathered around the same table and talking throughout, this version of the game allows you to do just that.

While its good for social people, there isnt much else to be gained. Though some advocates do suggest that you can learn many new strategies if you participate and listen.

Since the beginning of time, gamblers have been looking for foolproof betting strategies that guarantee a victory. One such strategy that has been thought to accomplish this is the Martingale System.

Let me first say that I could go on for pages about the mathematical specifics of the system, but I wont do that to you. Instead, heres a quick breakdown of how it works:

Player A bets 2 units, if he loses, his next bet is 2 units +1. If he loses that, his next bet is 4 units +1. If he loses that, his next bet is 8 units +1, and so on. Essentially, the methodology states that you should always make a bet that covers your losses, and then at one unit on top of it so that youll make a profit.

At first, it seems to be a pretty solid strategy. It has survived in gambling circles for decades because its not entirely misguided but there are some shortcomings that need to be addressed.

One of the main issues with the system is that it requires a huge bankroll to actually follow through with the bets in the way that the Martingale System suggests.

Another problem is that the system doesnt take into account what happens if you lose a few hands in a row. What starts out as a reasonable $10 or $20 initial bet can turn into thousands within just a few hands.

When you break it down, the Martingale System, though solid on the surface, simply doesnt hold up. Think of it this way: if there was actually a foolproof betting strategy that gamblers could use to win every time, youd probably have heard about it at this point.

Many gamblers are aware of this phenomenon, but even more have not been clued in. The mistake known as the Gamblers Fallacy is so common that you guessed it it has its own name.

The incorrect philosophy assumes that prior trials have some type of impact on future trials, when in fact they do not. It extrapolates a probability situation that is seen over thousands and thousands of trials and assumes that the same model also works on a much smaller scale.

If that doesnt make sense, heres a much simpler explanation that youve probably encountered during your time at the roulette table:

Lets say the past three spins have ended up on black. Unfortunately, youve lost all three of your last bets as you had your money down on red. When its time for the fourth spin, theres a higher chance of it landing on red than black, right? The correct answer is: no.

While over time, meaning over the course of thousands of spins, the times it lands on red and the times it lands on black will be very similar, on small scale you cant count on it. The lesson to be taken out of this experiment is to recognize that every single spin is its own trial and isnt affected in any way by the ones before it.

To simplify even further, heres an example. For the sake of the example, Ill assume that theres a 50% chance it lands on black, and a 50% chance it lands on red (even though thats not quite right). If you spin the wheel 20 times and it lands on black every time, what are the chances it lands on red on the 21st spin? The answer is still 50%.

The bottom line is that regardless of what happened before your current turn, the odds are the exact same every time. Overall probabilities cant be calculated in one single game, so thinking that something is due to happen is a major mistake that has hurt gamblers since the beginning of time.

If a casino game exists, theres always going to be someone out there who thinks theyve cracked the code. Roulette is no different, and this often presents itself in bets that are spread out across the board.

Obviously, if you place your bet on a specific number or any one of the higher risk spaces, you have a chance to take in a bigger win. However, the odds are never going to actually tip in your favor over the house advantage and no combination of bets is going to change that fact.

Its completely fine to try risking a little more if you arent looking to stick to red/black, odd/even, or over/under 18.

Taking a flyer on a potential big win once in a while is reasonable. Just dont think that you can actually get an edge thats going to be sustainable long-term.

Just like the Martingale System shows, if a foolproof strategy for winning roulette existed, everyone would know about it, and the casinos would have made adjustments.

As long as you stay away from these 4 myths, the roulette wheel presents some of the best opportunities in the casino. The low house edge and ease of play makes it something that should be incorporated into every visit.

Mind your bankroll, ignore the Gamblers Fallacy, and let the chips fall where they may.

MGM Springfield prepares for reopening; union expects not all workers will return right away – MassLive.com

SPRINGFIELD MGM Springfield the nearly 2-year-old, $960 million resort casino in Springfields South End is calling back employees ahead of a planned July 13 reopening.

But an official with its largest labor union doesnt expect everyone to resume their jobs initially, if at all.

MGM Springfield had about 2,500 employees before the state ordered it an Massachusetts two other casinos to close in mid-March to arrest the spread of the coronavirus. Four months later, the casinos will reopen under virus safety restrictions imposed by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Some 600 of the 2,500 people working at MGM Springfield before the shutdown were members of Unite Here, said Ethan Snow, chief of staff for the New England Joint Board of the union.

I dont know, its definitely going to be a lot less on reopening day, he said of the number of workers. Definitely less.

Hes expecting that bars and restaurants either wont be open or will have operations curtailed, for example. MGM has said its hotel and spa will remain closed for the time being, and valet service will not be available.

Dining options will be limited initially to the Tap Sports Bar, South End Market and Costas pizza. Liquor and other drinks will be available on the casino floor and in connection with seated dining.

In accordance with rules from the state Gaming Commission, MGM will disable slot machines to accommodate six feet between players. Poker, roulette and craps will not be offered.

Unite Here represents hotel housekeepers, bartenders, cocktail servers, casino porters and cleaners. Dealers at gambling tables are not in the union, but its members include slot attendants who cash folks out.

There are other unions representing workers at the casino, including the Teamsters, Electrical Workers and Stage Hands.

MGM is keeping all the laid-off employees on its health insurance plan through the end of August, including ones who are not called back right away. Thats according to both the company and to Snow.

"That's a really big thing for people," Snow said.

Snow said hes proud of protections Unite Here negotiated for its members in the areas of cleaning, sanitization and protections for workers who must interact with the public. MGM has announced mask policy covering all its locations.

In the meantime, some workers are getting called back.

"People have been slowly trickling back and receiving training on what the operation is going to look like once it reopens," Snow said.

MGM spokeswoman Jocelyn Kelly did not go into detail in emails responding to questions from The Republican this week.

We are bringing back employees based on available amenities and business demand, she wrote. Its an evolving situation.

MGM will reopen with Chris Kelley, president of the Northeast Group at MGM Resorts, taking on new responsibilities at MGMs Empire City Casino in Yonkers, just north of New York City.

MGM announced back in May that Kelley who is still less than six months into his time here in Springfield was named president of the Yonkers facility as well. The move came as part of a companywide management shakeup that saw four MGM presidents lose their jobs. Kelleys appointment is pending approval by New York state gaming regulators.

He came to Springfield in January from an MGM property in Ohio. He replaced Mike Mathis, who shepherded the MGM Springfield project though regulatory approvals and construction, to its opening in 2018, and through its first several months of lackluster financial performance.

Before the casino opened, MGM Resorts International told regulators it would bring in an average of $34.8 million a month in gross gambling revenue from slot machines and table games. Instead, the average over its first 18 full months was $21.5 million. The peak was $26.9 million in September 2018, MGM Springfields first full month of operation.

MGM promised to create 3,000 jobs here, but has fallen well short of that goal.

Coronavirus Live Updates: US and World News – Up News Info

As school districts across the United States consider whether and how to restart in-person classes, they face two fundamental uncertainties: No nation has tried to send children back to school with the virus raging at levels like Americas, and the scientific research about transmission in classrooms is limited.

The World Health Organization has concluded that the virus is airborne in crowded, indoor spaces with poor ventilation, a description that fits many American schools, and many of the countrys 3.5 million teachers are feeling under siege, under pressure from the White House, pediatricians and some parents to resume normal teaching.

Im just going to say it: It feels like were playing Russian roulette with our kids and our staff, said Robin Cogan, a nurse at the Yorkship School in Camden, N.J., who serves on the states committee on reopening schools.

Three science reporters for The Times, Pam Belluck, Apoorva Mandavilli and Benedict Carey, reviewed relevant studies from around the world. The data, they write, clearly shows that children are far less likely than adults to become seriously ill from the virus. And some research suggests younger children are less likely than teenagers to infect others, though the evidence is not conclusive.

Countries like Norway and Denmark reopened schools after reducing infection levels, and have not seen a surge in cases. They initially opened only for younger children, strengthened sanitizing procedures, and have kept class size limited, children in small groups at recess and space between desks.

The larger concern is that children could become infected, many with no symptoms, and then spread the virus to others, including family members, teachers and other school employees. In Israel, the virus infected more than 200 students and staff after schools reopened in early May and lifted limits on class size a few weeks later, according to a report by University of Washington researchers.

On the other hand, a study in Ireland of six infected people two high school students, an elementary student and three adults who spent in schools before they closed in March found that the only documented transmission involved one of the adults, and outside of school.

‘People are willing to play Russian roulette with their familys lives’: Doctor slams behavior in US – FOX 2 Detroit

Regarding Missouri coronavirus cases continue steady climb (June 27): If you find reading the newspaper or watching the evening news depressing these days, you might try a round of Trump Roulette to add a touch of excitement. Heres how the game is played: Before reading the paper or watching the news, all players pick one of President Donald Trumps current blunders or scandals to be the lead story and then see who picks correctly. Its usually quite competitive with multiple candidates.

The leading contenders this week are the administrations continued mismanagement of the pandemic, the sympathy with white supremacy, and the lack of transparency over the Afghanistan bounty issue. Or, you can take a long shot on a ringer. Has anyone heard from John Bolton lately? The denial of climate change?

The game works with any national newscast other than Fox. You can also use any reputable newspaper, National Public Radio, or even the monologues of late-night comedians. You could play it with Fox national news, but the leading candidate will always be a story about how our Dear Leader is protecting his supporters from anybody who looks or acts a bit different from them.

I encourage those viewers to try this game with another outlet occasionally, at least before November.

Four casino innovations that failed to hit the jackpot – European Gaming Industry News

Reading Time: 3 minutes

More than ever, casino players are spoilt for choice when it comes to the amount of games available to play, whether it be online or at a land-based casino.

Multiple versions and variations of blackjack, roulette, video poker, and poker exist, while there are literally hundreds of slot games.

However, attempts to broaden casino horizons have not always gone to plan. History is filled with many games, and twists on existing games, that fell wide of the mark.

Here we look at four innovations that had ambitions of becoming the next big thing but ultimately failed to hit the jackpot.

In theory, webcam poker should have been a roaring success. Online poker had become a behemoth of a game, attracting casual and professional players alike.

Its one major difference compared to live table poker is that players hidden behind screens have been unable to pick up on the physical tells and bluffs of their opponents, thus helping to forge a strategy based on the actions of fellow players.

In 2011, 888 Poker thought they had solved that problem with the launch of Pokercam tables. Players would compete at an online table and make themselves visible through a webcam while being able to see their opponents at the same time.

In practice, though, most players decided against using their webcams in order not to give anything away. A typical webcam poker game might see one or two players turn on their webcams while the other six or seven players refused to.

After failing to take off, 888 Poker removed webcam poker from their services a few years later, citing technical difficulties.

The charm of poker is that it combines skill with luck. While players have no control over the cards they are dealt, they can dictate what they do with those cards. The players who are best at bending the luck in their favour are of course professional multimillionaires!

When Duplicate Poker came along in the 1990s, its aim was to all but eliminate the luck factor of poker.

The game sees players situated on two or more tables with an equal number of players at each. All tables are then dealt the same cards in the same sequence, so Player A on the first table will get the same cards as Player A on the second table.

The primary aim of the game is to then be more successful than the player on the other tables with the same cards. Whomever plays the best hand, wins.

The big problem with Duplicate Poker is that is relies almost entirely on decision-making and removes the luck factor altogether. It also ran into trouble as a table game in casinos due to the fact that multiple tables needed to be dedicated to the same game.

DuplicatePoker.com attempted to break into the online casino market, but struggled to capture the audience there, too, and in October 2008 it closed down, blaming the global financial crisis.

The introduction of live dealer games has, by and large, been a major success for online gaming companies. Players can now play at virtual roulette, poker, and blackjack tables with a live dealer, helping to replicate the experience of being at a land-based casino.

Many live dealer games also allow players to interact with fellow players and the dealers through a chat service, bringing more interaction to the game.

However, while live dealers are a necessity for games where dealers are actually required to deal cards and spin the wheel, a foray into live dealer slot games fell flat.

The only discernable difference between regular betting slots and live dealer slots was that the latter featured wheels instead of traditional reels. Beyond that, players were paying more for a dealer to spin the wheel and offer the occasional chat conversation.

Unsurprisingly, live dealer slot games never caught on.

Virtual Reality headsets have been readily available for the past six or seven years and first tried to crack the online gambling sector around 2015.

The VR features from SlotMillions, who designed an entire VR gambling experience, were no doubt impressive. Housed inside a virtual skyscraper, players had access to a full casino, slot games, a lounge, bar, and could even venture up to the 80th floor and enjoy the view.

Two years later, in 2017, NetEnt joined the VR movement by launching re-releases of popular slots games that allowed players a first-person view when wearing a headset.

While VR has long been tipped as a key technology for the future of casino gaming, it has so far failed to truly go mainstream.

The rise of mobile gaming is down to the fact people can play anywhere and everywhere. No one is interested in strapping on a headset to play a quick game of blackjack while taking the bus to work.

While it might be jumping the gun to call VR gambling an outright failure, it has so far fallen short of disruptive expectations it was expected to have.

Here you have 4 casino innovations that didnt really make the cut. If you want to make sure you wont fail when gambling on any online casino check out the best betting tips for beginners here: https://extra.betamerica.com/casino/

Ohios gambling sites may have had to reduce occupancy but that wasnt reflected in June revenues – News 5 Cleveland

CLEVELAND Ohio saw something Tuesday it hasnt seen in three months, revenue figures from the states casinos and racinos. And yes, the $76.6 million Ohio's combined they generated in June may seem small compared to the $161.4 million figure they put up for the same month last year, but when you compare it to the figures for April and May ($0) they look pretty good.

After being ordered to shut down March 14 because of the pandemic the state's gambling sites were given the green light to reopen June 19 at no more than 50% of capacity and with social distancing procedures in place.

"We're running on a capacity limitation, Jack Entertainment COO Chad Barnhill said at the reopening last month. Three people per Black Jack table, four people for roulette, six people three on each end in craps, the slot machines have every other slot machines turned off."

But lest you think those restrictions hurt the casinos, for example, they didn't because the revenue figures also show that when you break the numbers down daily the casinos and racinos brought in collectively $5.38 million a day last June compared to $6.97 million a day this year.

Among the local properties, Clevelands Jack Casino had winnings of $6.6 million after all bets were paid in June compared to $17.5 million the same month last year. MGM Racino in Northfield had June revenues of $8.4 million and Jack Thistledown brought in $6.7 million.

Racino proceeds benefit education through the Ohio lottery while Casino winnings after bets are paid are taxed at a rate of 33% with those funds going to Ohio counties, education, and host cities.

So even at a reduced figure, that's $11.2 million in casino taxes that weren't there in April or May.

MGM Springfield gives sneak peek at COVID-19 protections ahead of July 13 reopening – MassLive.com

SPRINGFIELD City officials including Mayor Domenic J. Sarno were provided a tour of MGM Springfield this week to view coronavirus protections ahead of the casinos July 13 reopening.

City officials said Tuesday the safety measures were comprehensive.

MGM has taken extraordinary measures to comply with the Governors guidance around COVID-19, said Helen Caulton-Harris, the citys commissioner of public health. I felt good about how MGM has put the effort in ensuring those guests who decide to go to MGM will be safe.

She also praised safety guidelines in place for employees.

Sarno, along with key members of his administration, joined with MGM Springfield President and Chief Operations Officer Chris Kelley and other MGM officials for the tour.

Like with all our businesses whether large or small, well continue to work with them to get them back on their feet to succeed in this new temporary normalcy, Sarno said.

MGM Springfield will partly open under numerous restrictions on Monday, as authorized by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission and governor.

The various precautionary and public health and safety changes include:

MGM Springfield is following MGM Resorts Internationals comprehensive Seven-Point Safety Plan, which was developed in conjunction with an epidemiologist and other health experts, officials said.

As stipulated by the Gaming Commission, MGM must adhere to a substantially reduced capacity during the initial phase of reopening, among other restrictions.

To promote physical distancing, slot machines will be disabled to accommodate six feet between players. Poker, roulette and craps will not be available in this first phase of reopening per state guidelines.

Initially, dining options will be limited to the Tap Sports Bar, South End Market and Costas pizza counter. Guests will use mobile devices to check menus.

Beverage service will be available connection with seated dining and to those actively playing on the gaming floor. To promote mask wearing, guests are not allowed to move around the casino floor with a drink.

Complimentary self-parking will be available for guests, but valet parking will not be operational.

MGM Springfields hotel and spa will remain closed until a future date.

Sarno praised MGM officials for presenting such a comprehensive reopening plan that focused on not only getting people back to work but just as important following and prioritizing all of the public health and safety guidelines to assure there is strong consumer confidence and that the facility is reopening responsibly.

In addition to Sarno and Caulton-Harris, city officials taking part in the tour were Chief Development Officer Tim Sheehan, Solicitor Attorney Ed Pikula, Chief Administrative and Financial Officer Timothy J. Plante, Chief of Staff Tom Ashe and Communications Director William Baker.

MGM Springfield officials included Vice President and General Counsel Seth Stratton, Vice President of Facilities Jason Rosewell, Vice President of Human Resources Marikate Murren, Vice President of Hospitality Abe Berry, Director of Government Affairs Jose Delgado and Director of Compliance Daniel Miller.

Here’s who has the best odds of winning the Stanley Cup in 2020 | Offside – Daily Hive

Roulettesites.org is a one-stop place for everything related to roulette. From recommendations for reliable roulette sites to various strategies on how to play the different games variations. The site also provides a list of safe and secure online casinos with an extensive selection of roulette games.

Does being a hub city matter?

Some oddsmakers seem to think so.

While Stanley Cup odds vary depending who is setting them, there are some bookies listing both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers near the top of the odds lists.

Toronto and Edmonton are reportedly going to be the NHLs two hub cities, with games being played at Scotiabank Arena and Rogers Place until the second round of the playoffs. From there, its likely that Edmonton will host the Conference Finals and the Stanley Cup Final too.

Will it matter where the games are played? There will be no fans in attendance, no travel for the road teams, and even the hosts will have to stay in a hotel.

And yet, both the Oilers and Leafs saw an improvement in their odds of winning it all. The Leafs in particular shot way up in the last month according to the average odds from online sportsbooks, compiled by Sports Betting Dime.

On June 2, when Toronto was a long shot to be named a hub city, the Leafs were at +2500. One month later, theyre listed at +1800. Edmonton was a hub city contender throughout, but still saw their odds improve from +2500 to +2200.

Oddsmakers atSports Interactionsappear to believe it will play a factor. The Oilers have the fifth-best odds of winning the Stanley Cup, ahead of the St. Louis Blues, Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers, and Dallas Stars four teams that are getting a bye to the first round of the playoffs.

Like the Oilers, the Maple Leafs will need to win a qualifying round series just to get into the final 16, yet theyre favoured ahead of the Flyers and Stars as well.

No other qualifying round teams other than Edmonton and Toronto have stronger odds than a team with a bye.

Four other Canadian teams are in the mix of course, with the Vancouver Canucks given the 12th-best odds, followed by the Calgary Flames (13th), Winnipeg Jets (16th), and Montreal Canadiens (23rd).

The Tampa Bay Lightning (+500), Boston Bruins (+550), Vegas Golden Knights (+625), and Colorado Avalanche (+725) are currently the top favourites to win the Cup.

Top Gaming Industries On the Rise in India in 2020 – Oracle Globe

While India is rapidly establishing itself as a well-known global leader in a number of industries, such as energy, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, comparatively little attention has been paid to Indias burgeoning gaming industry.

Gaming revenue in India is expected to reach almost $1.7 billion in 2020, making India one of the most significant consumer markets for games in the world. There are an estimated 300 million gamers across the country, a number that is only surpassed by neighboring China.

In addition to being a major consumer market for video games of all stripes, India is also shaping up to be a major producer of gaming content for global audiences. Lets take a closer look at the main drivers behind Indias rise as a gaming superpower in 2020.

When it comes to the global $79 billion mobile gaming market, India is a clear market leader. One of the top five countries for mobile gaming in the world in terms of market share, there are an estimated 628 million Indians who regularly play mobile games according to Forbes.

Such figures are less surprising when you consider the fact that India has one of the highest numbers of mobile users in the world, at around 482 million. Among the most popular mobile games in India right now are mobile eSports giants such as PUBG Mobile and Garena Free Fire, the latter of which is currently the top-grossing game of all time on the Indian Google Play store.

Meanwhile, homegrown mobile gaming companies are teaming up with global juggernauts to greatly expand their reach in the Indian marketplace. The Dehli-based game developer WinZO, for example, recently teamed up with Tencent to provide PUBG Mobile tournaments across the country in 10 different regional languages.

Owing to its young population and very high levels of internet penetration, online gaming in India is one of the biggest markets in the world, taking many forms. One example is the world of competitive eSports, where Indian teams have been winning the top prizes at major tournaments such as Dota 2 and the Asian Games.

Meanwhile, India has made a splash by introducing its own, highly-successful eSports events, such as ESL One Mumbai and the Dehli Dreamhack. Another major component of Indias online gaming sector is casino games, where Indian players can play slots, roulette, blackjack, and more for real money.

The success of online casinos in India is evidenced by the fact that major global operators, such as RoyalPanda, offer dozens of some of the most popular real-money roulette games to Indian players. By some measures, the Indian online gambling market is already estimated to be worth 62 billion rupees.

The size of the traditional console gaming market in India may not be as impressive as the mobile market just yet, but it is growing fast. Admittedly, console gaming remains prohibitively expensive for most Indian consumers, and PC penetration is one of the lowest in the region. This helps to explain why mobile gaming makes up around 85% of the overall gaming market in India.

However, this is not the full story. As recently explained in The Telegraph, India represents the next frontier for console gaming, owing to the huge levels of enthusiasm for the medium among Indias young adult population.

A substantial chunk of viewers of console gaming on streaming platforms such as Twitch comes from India, which has developers such as Microsoft and Sony convinced that, with the rollout of cloud gaming which does not require a console, the Indian gaming market will be opened up like never before.

In addition, there are a number of fast-growing Indian console developers that are striving to make a splash overseas, with the award-winning indie studio Tentworks Interactive being just one well-known example. You will be hearing a lot more from Indias console gaming industry in the coming years.

Anyone who is invested in the video gaming industry simply cannot afford to ignore India. In the coming years, this country of 1.4 billion people will become one of the most influential gaming markets on Earth.
