Specialising in the physiology of the brain, Susan researches the impact of 21st century technologies on the mind, how the brain generates consciousness and novel approaches to neurodegenerative diseases Susan has written several non-specialist books on issues relating to the mind and brain for the general reader. She appears regularly on radio and television and frequently gives talks to the public and private sector. Watch the independent, global news hour live weekdays 8-9am ET. For years the Norwegian Nobel Peace Committee has faced criticism over its secrecy and selections, perhaps most notably in 1973 when Henry Kissinger won the award. Leading the critique of the committee has been Norwegian lawyer Fredrik Heffermehl. "Since [the committee is] very devoted to the NATO alliance and to the United States foreign policy," Heffermehl says, "the prize has come to serve the exact opposite of what it was intended to serve ... to support the work for breaking the military tradition and creating global peace or demilitarized global peace order. It #39;s a very radical idea." Heffermehl is past president of Norwegian Peace Council and a member of the board of the International Peace Bureau, which won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1910. He is author of the book, "The Nobel Peace Prize What Nobel Really Wanted." Before Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite, died on Dec. 10, 1896, he wrote in his will that his fortune was to be used to give out annual prizes in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature and peace. Heffermehl argues the Norwegian Nobel Committee has illegally ignored Nobel #39;s ...From:MsWingmakerViews:92 4ratingsTime:12:08More inNews Politics

Autism Symptoms2 1
The causes of autism connect autism with vaccinations. Discover the connection of vaccinations and the astronomical increase of autism. The birthrate has gone from 1 in 10000 to 1 in 91 births... all in one generation. Scientific evidence correlates the increase of vaccinations with autistic symptoms. Mainstream medicine denies "a proven co-relationship", It seems the pharmaceutical companies are a powerful influence on mainstream medicine. Causes of autism and symptoms of autism that follow huge increases of vaccinations seem ignored. Toxicity of mercury and aluminum found in vaccines are arguable the cause of autism and brain damage when infants are over-vaccinated. How the Four Types of Skin Tissue Heal – Video

How the Four Types of Skin Tissue Heal
How the Epithelial, Connective, Muscle, and Nervous Tissues heal with a little humor. Project for my Anatomy and Physiology Class. No words are used to describe (Short descriptions are located below). Images found on google or made in Microsoft Word. Music and sound affects also from Microsoft Clip-art sounds. Video made on Windows Movie Maker. Disclaimer: By no means was it meant for these injuries not to be taken seriously. We thought it would be easier to understand with a little humor how the four tissues can heal. Please give proper credit if you would like to use this video. Description: Epithelial Tissue heals the best. Cells divide and quickly fill in the cut. Cut heals quickly. Connective Tissue wounds usually result in scars. Fibroblasts fill up the wound with fibrous connective tissue and this is seen as a scar. Over time scars may disappear. Thick scars are called Keloids and are pictured at the end of the Connective Tissue section. Muscle Tissue is less likely to heal. Wounds fill with fibrous connective tissue (fibroblasts are pictured) and the injured area is likely to lose all function. The man is pictured not being able to lift the 1 lb box. Nervous Tissue has a small chance of healing. Injury is usually permanent and can result in paralysis like the man in the wheelchair. From:Shreya MohanViews:0 0ratingsTime:02:51More inEducation

How Snakes Fly: Jake Socha at TEDxVirginiaTech
Dr. Jake Socha is an assistant professor in the Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Tech. His research investigates the biomechanics and functional morphology of flows in and around organisms, involving the behavior, biomechanics, and aerodynamics of gliding flight in vertebrates, and the biomechanics and physiology of internal convective flows involved in breathing, feeding, and circulation in insects. He earned a BS in physics and biology from Duke University in 1994 and a Ph.D. in biomechanics from the University of Chicago in 2002. He was the Ugo Fano Postdoctoral Fellow at Argonne National Laboratory, studying internal mechanisms in insects by zapping them with synchrotron radiation, the world #39;s most powerful x-rays. Prior to graduate school, he was a member of the Teach for America national teacher corps, serving as the sole high school science teacher at Centerville High School in southern Louisiana. There, he founded the cross- country team, and his girls #39; team won the state title two years after he left.
