Cameron Jordan lobbies for the Saints to sign ex-first round pick Dion Jordan – Saints Wire

How can the New Orleans Saints get better before the 2020 season? Theyve already begun working on that by signing free agent wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, a two-time Pro Bowler who is one of the few route-runners in the league who can match Michael Thomas step-for-step. But what about the defense?

Cameron Jordan has some ideas. When browsing a list of available defensive linemen, the All-Pro pass rusher circled one name in particular: Dion Jordan, the third overall pick in the 2013 draft out of Oregon. He has spent recent years playing for the Seattle Seahawks and formerly-Oakland Raiders, having missed a lot of time after a 2015 suspension for violating the leagues performance-enhancing substance policy.

Hes played just 24 games in the last three years while dealing with a 2018 knee injury and a suspension related to an expired therapeutic use exemption for Adderall, and Jordans stat line isnt going to raise many eyebrows; in those 24 games, hes created 7.5 sacks and 13 quarterback hits, along with eight tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. But the Saints Jordan sees more than a box score.

The veteran identified the free agents tools as, flexibility, inside rusher as well as outside rusher, pointing to the younger Jordans success in creating pressure from all over the defense front, crediting it to rare flexibility for such a tall lineman (the prospect tips the scales at 6-foot-6, 284 pounds).

On top of that, Jordan sees a vision where they could both coexist in certain packages, such as an all-defensive ends look featuring both Jordans lined up upside, with Marcus Davenport and Trey Hendrickson flanking them. Another lineup he proposed would be a package calling for five linemen with hands in the dirt, bookended by himself and Davenport on the edge with interior linemen Sheldon Rankins and David Onyemata inside next to the other Jordan.

Hes certainly painting an intriguing picture. When Jordans playing days are over, a coaching career could be ahead of him, assuming he doesnt get a job in the media. But back to his point about adding another Jordan: it would be a fascinating pickup, especially if he can steer clear of further suspensions.

The Saints defensive line was a strength of the team but got whittled down late last season with injuries. Adding someone like the other Jordan to the mix would make sense for the reasons already discussed. And its not like the Saints arent familiar with him; Jordan was picked by then-Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland, now the head of the Saints college scouting department. Its something worth watching.

Hybrid d-end Jordan Thompson becomes 3rd player to stay home, commit to Rutgers this week – NJ.com

Despite the devastating impact of the coronavirus, Greg Schiano and the Rutgers football staff are on a roll. Parsippany (N.J.) Hills athlete Jordan Thompson has committed to Rutgers, he confirmed to NJ Advance Media Friday morning.

Its either you want to be part of history or make history, he said. And I want to make it."

A 6-3, 225-pound junior, Thompson has ties to the Piscataway-based program, which helped keep him home. His mother, Neretta, ran track at Rutgers and graduated from the school in 1991. And theres a current player on the team whose opinion he values.

Billy Taylor, whos the long snapper for Rutgers, is the brother of one of my close friends, Zack, Thompson said last month. And he always talks about how amazing Rutgers is.

Introducing Rutgers Sports Insider: Sign up for exclusive news, behind-the-scenes observations and the ability to text message directly with beat writers

A three-star recruit, Thompson visited Rutgers two Saturdays ago, and confirmed all the things he had heard about the school.

The facility and how much the coaches are willing to making Rutgers into a great program stood out," he said following the visit. "I was mostly with Coach Panagos, Gleeson, and Nunz. Coach Schiano said that I can play either side of the ball and I could help Rutgers make a difference. Rutgers is definitely one of my top schools.

And, now hes a Scarlet Knight.

I called coach Schiano today and he just talked about life and how they are recruiting a very good class. So, I said, I want to be part of it and I want to commit,' Thompson said.

Thompson is the third player to pledge to Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano this week -- a breakneck pace considering the country is on lockdown for the coronavirus. Rutgers 2021 class now boasts six recruits and is ranked 19th in the country and sixth in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports.com.

Thompson is versatile and plays all over the field but will start out a hybrid defensive end at Rutgers. He joins East Orange (N.J) running back/cornerback Al-Shadee Salaam, and Westside (Newark, N.J.) defensive back Shaquan Loyal, whom pledged to Greg Schiano on Wednesday.

Jordan Young happy to sign with PFL: ‘I got the short end of the stick’ with Bellator – MMA Junkie

As Jordan Young looks ahead to the next chapter of his career with PFL, he has mixed feelings about his time with Bellator.

Young (11-1) spent the past three years and seven fights under the Bellator banner. He looked to be a major prospect, winning his first six bouts, including a stretch of five consecutive submission finishes. He stumbled in the final fight of his contract, though, and lost a decision to Julius Anglickas at Bellator 233 this past November.

Entering free agency off a lackluster defeat wasnt part of Youngs plan, of course. He said he fought injured and that contributed to his performance, which he felt was negatively used against him in negotiations. When he sat at the table with the Bellator brass, Young said his frustrations with the organization were magnified and he opted to move on.

I was looking to increase my worth and fell short a little bit there, then on the back end of that fight I needed hip surgery, Young told MMA Junkie. I dont do excuses and (expletive), but I got MRIs. I got three MRIs from 2019. They all shown a torn hip. I tried doing everything, but it backfired on me. I didnt get the job done. Its not like Bellator wasnt interested, but the numbers werent adding up for me. Im not interested in taking steps back or doing anything thats counterproductive to my career.

Lets throw two things out there. Look at the kid that beat me. He beat me, and you havent heard (expletive) about him. No promotion for the kid. Hes sitting on the sidelines, and Im going to fight before he does, and I had a hip surgery. The lack of promotion is something serious over there. I feel that. Im a young, up-and-coming star and Im looking to remind people of that with PFL.

Young said his free agency discussions included MMAs four major promotions: UFC, Bellator, PFL and ONE Championship. He thought PFL offered the most to him at this point in his career because competing in the 2020 season could allow him to fight up to five times in six months, and also offers the biggest immediate financial reward with a $1 million prize at the end.

The UFC was definitely a consideration in Youngs mind, he said, but ultimately he thought the timing wasnt right.

When I go to the UFC, I want to be prepared to be there to stay, Young said. Its not that I dont think Im ready now, but I feel I have more steps to take. I dont want to be a guy in the UFC that doesnt own a house yet, that doesnt have his (expletive) together, and then Im forced to take different steps and try different things out because I need the money. When I go to the UFC, Im going to be set. Im going to have what I need to have, and regardless of what happens in my fights, Im going to be taken care of.

Young said he has a good perspective on what he needs in his career right now, and thats why staying put with Bellator wasnt a realistic option. Young said hes appreciative of the experiences he gained fighting under Scott Cokers brand, but he does have some issues with how business is done.

A fighter like Young, who appears to have the talent, personality and mindset to thrive in the sport, should have been pushed much harder, he said.

A lot of people dont know who I am across the MMA community because they havent had the opportunity to see me, Young said. At 25 years of age and with an 11-1 record, I think thats kind of absurd. If you take a couple steps back, Ive only fought two or three times a year. A lot of those fights are first-round finishes. Im fresh. Im healthy. I make my check and then I sit for six months and you dont hear a word about me. Thats like the worst treatment I think you can give an up-and-coming fighter who has star potential and is winning his fights in the fashion Im winning them, which is without being touched.

I would rather have the long road than no road at all, but I feel like I got the short end of the stick. I notched off a lot of victories there in a short period of time and there wasnt really any big payoff for me. I didnt receive any big fights. I didnt receive televised spots. But (I have) no ill will. My career will be long, and the time for that stuff is now.

Young said he went from a kid who didnt have (expletive) to having a lot of opportunities while at Bellator. But in the end it was time to move on.

PFL offers something very different to Young with its season format and focus on performance over everything else. Its on that platform in which Young thinks he will flourish, and hes eager for his debut fight in June.

Nothing matters in this, Young said. Popularity, what you do outside fighting is the No. 1 thing. Its like Mortal Kombat. Theres no ducking anybody. Its always about who is next in line, and Im looking at it as a fight to the death, every single one. Ive always been ready to die, even for the lesser checks. I would let myself die for $50,000, so imagine what Ill do for $1 million.

A new perspective on the Jordanian option following Trump’s peace plan – The Jerusalem Post

Rejection of President Trumps Deal of the Century by Palestinian leaders has resulted in a stalemate that leaves Palestinians who desire national self-determination frustrated and angry. The problem is because of the fixation on creating a Palestinian state only west of the Jordan River. This has prevented thinking about any other options. For the last three decades, based on the Oslo Accords, the international community has tried to resolve the dispute over Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) by creating an autonomous area for Palestinians under a Palestinian Authority but not a state while allowing for some Israeli settlements. Promoted as a peace agreement, it soon proved to be a failure. The reason is that it was based on the false assumption that Arab and Palestinian leaders wanted peace with Israel. Rather than moving toward peace, the Palestinian Authority, the PLO, Hamas and other terrorist organizations only made the situation worse. Unsatisfied with what they were given, local autonomy, they continue to condemn Israel and support terrorism.Empowering the PA/PLO, while ignoring Jordans role as the essential part of the two-state-solution, was a conceptual mistake. This denied the reality that there already is an Arab Palestinian state: the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Created in April 1921 by the British during their rule over the Palestine Mandate, Jordan declared war against Israel in 1948 and occupied Judea and Samaria and eastern Jerusalem from 1949 to 1967. After Jordan attacked Israel in 1967 and lost the war, many Arab Palestinians moved to Jordan; in 1988, the king renounced all claims to the West Bank, and in 1994, he signed a peace treaty with Israel. Arab Palestinians in the West Bank demand a state along the 1949 armistice lines, with Jerusalem as its capital and the return of those who fled. Israel has refused.A new perspective that focuses on helping Jordan become more productive will strengthen the monarchy, bring regional stability and security, and offer an alternative to empowering corrupt, terrorist-supporting dictatorships run by the PA/PLO and Hamas.Although Trumps Deal of the Century has many excellent aspects, it is too expensive and wasteful. Instead of supporting a failed Palestinian state west of the Jordan River, funding should be directed to projects that would help Jordan develop its vast uninhabited areas. Only 3.3 % of Jordans land is arable, and only about 1.2 % is planted for permanent crops. Out of Jordans nearly 92,000 square kilometers, only 750 square kilometers are irrigated for seasonal crops.Jordans public debt is 96% of its GDP. Its GDP growth is a dismal 2%. Unemployment varies between 20% and 40%. Heavily dependent on foreign aid, Jordan needs help to become thriving, successful and independent. In order for Jordan to flourish, however, it needs water. Providing water would enable it to extend its population centers to its desolate North and East. Abundant water sources in Turkey and the Caspian Sea the largest body of fresh water in the world could be tapped and piped to Jordan, turning it into an oasis, providing jobs, building cities, producing agricultural products, enabling business, hi-tech and industrial centers, and creating regional stability and economic development. The cost would be a fraction of what Trumps plan proposes to give the PA/PLO and it can and should be funded by Arab countries. Moreover, A precedent for this project exists: the Jordan Compact, a program sponsored by the international community (mostly EU countries and the World Bank) to contain the influx of hundreds of thousands of refugees from Syria and Iraq who moved to Jordan. In return for caring for them, Jordan receives billions of euros in assistance, loans and export advantages. Similar programs exist in African and North African countries. The idea behind the Jordan Compact is to meet a humanitarian crisis, but eventually (hopefully) the refugees will return to their countries of origin; Jordan is not interested in integrating them. Arab Palestinians from the West Bank, however, are different. Many have relatives who are Jordanians and they could help develop Jordans economy. Israel can also contribute to this process.A rail link between Haifa and Jordan would connect Jordan with European markets, and from there to the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia, making it an economic trade center. The recently rebuilt rail line between Haifa and Beit Shean is the beginning of this plan.Jordan has the largest Palestinian population in the world, more than the West Bank and Gaza together; nearly three-fourths of its inhabitants are Palestinian, and Jordan has granted them citizenship, the only Arab country to do so. Even their national flags are almost the same. Another Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria, and an additional one in the Gaza Strip, are not only unnecessary, but they would remain volatile failures and further attempts to destroy Israel.A Palestinian state along the 1949 armistice lines would threaten Israels existence. Moreover, it would not resolve the issue of Arab Palestinian refugees and their descendants living in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, supported by UNRWA. Creating a failed PLO state, therefore, would not solve any problems; it would compound them.Arabs living in UNRWA-administered towns in Lebanon and Syria should be allowed to become citizens in their host countries, or allowed to emigrate. International-aid programs should be operated only by countries, not by UNRWA.Arabs who live in Israel and PA-controlled areas and consider themselves to be Palestinian and seek self-determination can move to a Jordanian-Palestinian state if they wish. Those who prefer to stay under Israeli control can do so with full civil, but not national rights as is now the case. Non-Israeli Arabs who wish to remain under Israeli sovereignty as permanent residents could apply for Israeli citizenship; or, if they choose, they could remain as citizens in PA-administrated areas, or as Jordanian citizens living in Israel. The choice is theirs. They need other options.A two-state solution Israel and Jordan is in the national interests of both countries and Arab Palestinians. It would bring peace and prosperity and ensure the security and stability of the region. A Jordanian-Israeli confederation would replace failure and despair with hope and opportunity; it would inspire creativity, cooperation and freedom the raison dtre of nation-states.To honor Jordans upcoming centennial, King Abdullah should proclaim to Arab Palestinians: My brothers and sisters, the Nakba is over; lets work together to build our nation, Inshallah. Last year, the bill designed to protect children from abuse did not make it through the Senate. Sources told 10Investigates at the time senators would not hear the bill because of legal issues in the way the bill was written.

First Look At The Air Jordan 4 Rasta – Sneaker News

After the Bred 4s drop not too long ago, the silhouette has been relatively under wraps, only hitting the spotlight afterwards thanks to its runway relationship with Virgil Abloh. Inciting exciting for its inevitable Fall/Winter release, the collaborative silhouette has opened up audiences to newfound Air Jordan 4 GRs this latest bearing a Rasta inspiration and an exclusive womens size run. Hued primarily in white, coupled with standard leather fixtures, the pair plays to its themes with a punchy though sparing use of color, preferring to distinguish itself by way of variety alone. As such, heritage palettes of orange, yellow, and green create a slight gradient across the cages that hit the vamp and side; elsewhere, treads and lining are dyed a green to match and the attached hang tag breaks up in bright red as it hangs just below black-dyed eye stays and laces. Grab a detailed look here and expect a release to arrive later this April if COVID-19 doesnt create further delays.

MICHAEL JORDAN vs MICHAEL FINLEY: That time Michael Jordan schooled a young Michael Finley in the game of HORSE and one-on-one – Basketball Network

YoungMichael Finley, a Proviso East high-school (Maywood, Illinois) graduate, had most of his basketball dreams come true when he led his school to the 1991 Illinois High School State Championship and eventually made the all-tournament team.

But even in his wildest dreams, this teenager couldnt have hoped that while still in high school, he would get the chance to face the best basketball player on the planet theChicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan.

The player many today consider the G.O.A.T., not just in basketball but also in all sports, was, back then, on the verge of winning the first of three consecutive NBA Championships with the Bulls. Finley traveled to the Deerfield Multiplex (Deerfield, Illinois), where he got a surrealSpace Jamopportunity to face Jordan and test his skills in a game of H.O.R.S.E and a 1-on-1 scrimmage!

For a teenager basketball star in the making, Finley did just O.K. He matched most of MJs shots in H.O.R.S.E., except, of course, for the jumper from the right-wing which Jordan made with his left hand!

Then, after Jordan won the game, Finley got an exclusive opportunity to play 1-on-one withHis Airness.

Although Finley scored the first basket, Mike was just relentless, showing no mercy to anyone then or ever even with Finley actively guarding him. Jordan scored on the next three trips to the basket, finishing off the game with a penetrating move resulting in an easy dunk for the final score 3-1.

Interestingly enough, afterward, while talking about the rematch, the 1991 NBA MVP mentioned that they could again square off in about five years.

I think he was nervous. I think he brought all his buddies from school or whateverthey made you nervous, didnt they? I give you a rematch. I dont know, I see you in about five years, hopefully.

As usual, Jordans words proved to be right on the money he and Finley, the Suns rookie, coming in from the University of Wisconsin, would again meet as pros during the 1995/96 NBA season.

In two exciting and long-awaited match-ups, the much more experienced Jordan, on his way back from establishing the 1990s Bulls dynasty, easily dominated, scoring over the Suns rookie with ease. However, even with Jordan outscoring Finley 59-30, the two powerhouses split the season series at 1-1.

Finley, who showed a great deal of promise as a starting shooting guard for the 1995/96 Phoenix Suns, went on to enjoy a stellar 15-year NBA career with career stops in Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio, and Boston. He won his only NBA Championship Ring with the 2006/07 San Antonio Spurs.

Melody Ehsanis relationship with Jordan Brand, though young, has amassed quite a bit of rapport with the sneaker world at large her previous FEARLESS Air Jordan 1 continuing to rise up the resell charts. Now, with arguably the same level of energy, the burgeoning designer has diverted her sights to the OG womens Air Jordan silhouette, using its relatively unembellished constructions to celebrate womens history month, the icons of the WNBA, and the Love & Basketball anniversary. Simple and marked by only a two-toned palette, the pair outfits primarily with black shades, accents arriving atop with reflective piping at the edge of the overlays and vibrant reds at both the lining, tread, and branded heel embroidery. Elsewhere, other than the ME adorned box, is kept sound with little in the way of changes, but as cherry themes are interwoven throughout, the kit will finish by way of a playful and idealistic emblem of the fruit at the vamp in place of a dubrae. Official Images Of The Air Jordan 4 Retro SE Neon – Sneaker News

Amid news of several Jordan release date delays, The Jumpman Brand has revealed official images of the Air Jordan 4 in its best Air Max 95 impression.

Slated to drop in a weeks time, the latest iteration of Michael Jordans fourth signature shoe is a complete departure from its most recent counterparts, as well as the upcoming Off White Jordan 4. From midsole to tongue, the upcoming retro stacks various shades of grey on-top of one another to resemble the aforementioned Air Max runner, which is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. Elsewhere, plastic eyestays, profile mesh guards and tongue labels all contribute to the Jordan 4s nod to its kin from 95: Volt animates the four plastic lace guards and half of the tongue patch, while surrounding netting keeps things subtle like its muse. And while previous leaks revealed other distinct nods to the 25-year-old silhouette at the Airbag, insole and outsole, official images are the first to demonstrate one of the Air Max 95s most signature details: A reflective NIKE AIR-branded spine.

The Jordan 4 Neon is scheduled to launch at Nike.com on March 21st in Pre School, Grade School and Adult sizing. Pricing for this pair will range from $80 USD to $225 USD.

What Happened to Jordan Peterson? – The New Republic

So far, there is no evidence that Peterson displayed any of the so-called aberrant behaviors that define addiction. Butagain, all we have to go on is reports from his daughter, whose family has astrong financial incentive to spin away any suggestion that the man who madehis name engaging in a kind of intellectual Spartan cosplay is hopelesslyaddicted to a sedative. In fact, Mikhaila has jokingly alluded to how bad anaddiction diagnosis would be for her fathers lucrative self-help brand, whichpurports to rid adherents of weakness through grit and self-sacrifice. Wefigured we should let people know [the facts] before some tabloid finds out andpublishes [that] Jordan Peterson, self help guru, is on meth or something,Mikhaila said in a video update after Peterson checked himself into rehab inthe U.S.

Still, as soon as Petersons initial stint inrehab became public in 2019, threads sprang up in Peterson-related forums aboutwhether his fans should think less of him in light of his struggles with benzodiazepines. He was using a drug to escape the pain of reality, period. Call it whateveryou like, but it doesnt change the facts, wrote the user KingLudwigII on Reddit. In fact, dependence and addiction arehealth issues, not character defects, and if you pressed Peterson on thatpoint, hed probably agree. However, that message is a tough sell to many ofPetersons fans, who are drawn to his macho image and his personal story oftriumph over adversity.

By August or September 2019, Petersonshealth had deteriorated to the point that the family was more worried about himthan his cancer-stricken wife, Mikhaila said in an appearance onRT, the Russian propaganda network aimed at audiences outside of Russia.

There are established ways of treating adependence on benzodiazepines, a class of sedativesincluding Klonopin(clonazepam), Valium (diazepam), and Xanax (alprazolam)used for anxiety, insomnia, and epilepsy. Introduced to the U.S. market in 1960 as an alternative to barbiturates, benzodiazepines can be useful in treating a variety of conditions from panicattacks to muscle spasms. They can be very helpful for short-term andintermittent use, but their benefits tend to wanewhen they are used every day. They can also cause physical dependence within four weeks. If a person whos physicallydependent on benzodiazepines stops taking the drugs suddenly, they can sufferfrom withdrawal symptoms including severe anxiety, agitation, and evenlife-threatening seizures.

The Air Jordan 1 Mid Is Covered In Patent Leather Pastels And More – Sneaker News

Whether you hate or simply tolerate the Air Jordan 1 Mid, theres no denying that its here to stay, and if the past month is any indication, then its likely the brand is going to continue ramping up the release cadence gradually with time. The models latest, which removes the ostensibly trending basketball leathers, opts for a material treatment far more familiar with its overlays of shiny patent, directly applying them to both the forefoot as well as the heel counter in black and pink, respectively. The latter, though bright, is still not the brightest color amongst the palette, surprisingly, as the swooshes along both the lateral and medial mismatch with shades of neon green and aqua blue. Elsewhere, the pair is left neutral in its base of white and accents of its darker tonal opposite. Grab a detailed look at these Mids here and expect a release at Nike.com soon.

Horace Grant goes in on the real Michael Jordan – Basketball Network

Horace Grant was one of the most underappreciated and underrated players of the 90s, providing a vital role on some pretty good teams from that era like the Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The talented power forward was the third option behind Jordan and Pippen during the Bulls threepeat in 1991,1992, and 1993. Even after he left the Bulls, Grant was a crucial part of the rising Orlando Magic with Shaq and Penny. Being a part of the championship Bulls in the early 90s, Grant had the chance to witness the greatness of Michael Jordan and all the stories and events that occurred around him and his persona.

Grant made a guest appearance on HOT 97 for a discussion that mostly revolved about his former teammate, MJ, and all the stories that he experienced during his time with the Bulls organization. A particularly exciting piece of the interview was when Grant talked about how he and Pippen knew before the game started if they were going to win.

Scottie & I.. used to stand on the sideline when MJ went out to halfcourt. If we see the captains of the other team shake his hand & smile & laugh, we know we had that game. Because theyre having fun with MJ, but we knew MJ was thinking about putting the boot on your throat.

You could say their job was pretty easy in those games because MJ would take care of most of the work, but they all had to match his intensity to a certain degree because he couldnt do it by himself. That is just one of many examples of how Jordan was passionate and competitive since the moment he would walk into the arena.

Love Islands Rebecca Gormley cosies up with ex Jordan Waobikeze after going official with Biggs just last m – The Scottish Sun

LOVE Island's Rebecca Gormley cosied up to ex Jordan Waobikeze at a sports awards ceremony last night - and all in front of boyfriend Biggs Chris.

Last month The Sun Online exclusively revealed that the Geordie lass, 21, and car body repair specialist, 27, were officially dating - and their first date was at a kebab shop.

10

But it looks like the beauty queen got up close and personal with her ex Jordan, 24, at the British Ethnic Diversity Awards in London last night.

The administrator, 24, took to his Instagram story to document his big night out with the some other islanders, including: Luke Trotman, 22, Siannise Fudge, 25, Mike Boateng, 24, Priscilla Anyabu, 25, and even Rebecca's beau Biggs.

In the now deleted snap the pair posed for a selfie together and Jordan placed a whispering emoji in between them and he covered his mouth with his hands.

Rebecca gave her best sultry eyed look in her red dress, smoky makeup and perfectly curled hair.

During their time on the ITV2 reality show Jordan and Rebecca shared a kiss which led onto them coupling up together for the duration of their stay in the villa.

Jordan went on the join the girls in the main villa after the boys headed to Casa Amor - and it wasn't long before he caught the eye of Rebecca - who wasn't coupled up with anyone else.

The brunette beauty chose to keep Jordan in the main villa when the two camps were reunited after Casa Amor.

But their time on the show was short lived when they were voted the least popular couple in the villa.

10

Rebecca went on to admit that she thought their romance came "to a standstill" and said:"It wasn't going anywhere. And I think if you want to be with someone things should be progressing every day, not at a standstill. It became a friendship rather than being in a romantic couple."

The Miss Newcastle 2018 went onto admit that she regretted not getting to know any of the other boys.

"I wish I did chat to them all and find out more about everyone else - like Biggs. I loved Biggs (Chris). He was mint. His personality is the kind of personality I would go for. I would definitely meet up with him," she said.

Insiders said that the beauty queen felt pressured to hook up with Jordan - despite wanting to get to know Biggs when she returned to the UK.

10

After being kicked out the villa alongside Jordan, Rebecca talked about "taking things slow" as she was quizzed about their relationship by host Laura Whitmore.

But within hours she was already having second thoughts and had been spending time with Biggs since flying back to the UK.

The pair finally went official with their relationship when they were pictured outside a kebab shop in the capital.

Theytucked into a mixed doner kebab and chips and Biggs proved that he is Instagram husband material as he snapped Rebecca posed with her food for Instagram.

And Rebecca reciprocated as she snapped a picture of Biggs smiling with his "cheat meal".

Biggs - who is signed toThe Model Team- was one of the Casa Amor boys who got to live in the main villa for a week as he grafted for the girls.

During their time in the villa he couldn't make a move because Rebecca and Jordan had already hit it off and so he set his sights on Jess Gale.

Cameron Jordan criticizes Jaguars for trading Calais Campbell to the Ravens – Saints Wire

The Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to a puzzling trade on Sunday, sending Pro Bowl defensive lineman Calais Campbell to the Baltimore Ravens for no more than a fifth-round draft pick. Campbell is one of a handful of players who have created 6.5 or more sacks and 50-plus tackles in each of the last three years another one is New Orleans Saints captain Cameron Jordan, who took aim at the Jaguars for jettisoning such an important piece of their defense.

Jordan lambasted the Jaguars for their lack of loyalty to Campbell; he pointed out Campbells contributions on the field and off of it in Jacksonville, and criticized them for not appreciating Campbells influence in the locker room, as the vet leader that they didnt deserve but had at (the) helm.

Its easy to see why this stings so badly for Jordan. Campbell is someone hes long admired, having watched the big defensive ends NFL career start with the Arizona Cardinals while Jordan was a student at nearby Chandler High School. They have similar styles of play and levels of production, and Jordan obviously has a lot of respect for what hes accomplished.

Fortunately, this isnt a scenario that Saints fans should have to see play out. Jordan signed a contract extension last summer that ties him to New Orleans for the foreseeable future; hes one of the best players on a team whose arrow is still trending up, towards yet another year of Super Bowl contention. While the Jaguars may be willing to sacrifice fixtures of their franchise for unclear reasons, Jordan and the Saints are very much in the business of competition.

Michael Jordan’s Teammate Reveals What Jordan Shared Before Preseason Game in 01 – Heavy.com

After the 1998 season, Michael Jordan decided to retire from the NBA for the second time after winning his sixth and Final NBA Championship against the Utah Jazz.

Two years later, he would announce that he was back, but this time not as a player as president of basketball operations for the Washington Wizards. Jordan would have the final say on all personnel matters. Jordan was able to get rid of some large contracts such as Juwan Howard and Rod Strickland. However, In his first NBA draft as an executive, Jordan drafted Kwame Brown with the first pick of the 2001 NBA draft.

Despite his claim that he was 99.9% certain that he would never play another NBA game in January 1999, according to ESPNs Larry Schwartz. In the summer of 2001, Jordan expressed interest in making another comeback. Jordans comeback was inspired by his friend Mario Lemieux, who decided to make a comeback of his own the winter before.

The Jumpman [Michael Jordan] spent much of the spring and summer of 2001 in training, holding several invitation-only camps for NBA players in Chicago. Also, Jordan made the decision to hire his old Chicago Bulls head coach,Doug Collins, as Washingtons coach for the upcoming season. It was a move that foreshadowed Jordan returned to the NBA.

Jordan would announceon September 25, 2001, that he be returning to the NBA to play for the Washington Wizards. He also announced that he would be donating his salary as a player to a relief effort for the victims of the September 11 attacks.

Former Washington Wizards forward Pope Jones was a teammate of Jordans during the 2001-02 season in Washington. Jones is now an assistant coach with the Indiana Pacers, and last week, he shared that Michael Jordan told them he was going to show them how to score 20 points in a quarter and then sit down for the rest of the game.

We were playing in one of the first preseason games we were playing [the] Miami [Heat], and we were in the tunnel getting ready to walk out. And again, it was a preseason game, and he [Michael Jordan] said Im going to show you guys how to get 20 points in a quarter and sit down, and at the end of one, he had 18. Then he went ahead and sat down. That was unique, and I think one of the first practices because we know the type of scorer he was, but we all know that Jones told me. I didnt know the kind of playmaker he was until he showed us during practice, he was shooting every time and scoring. Coach Doug Collins said Michael, you cant shoot anymore, and then he looked like he was John Stockton or Magic Johnson with his passing and his vision, which really impressed me. I said something to him, and he said I see everybody I just want to score.

Jordan would end in 2002, due to torn cartilage in his right knee ended Jordans season after only 60 games.

Michael Jordan didn’t want to sign with Nike, didn’t like the shoes – Business Insider – Business Insider

Of all the sneakers in the Nike brand, Air Jordans are perhaps the most iconic.

The Jordan brand was born in 1984 from a deal between Michael Jordan and Nike, then an underdog in the sportswear world. When the NBA player was originally contemplating signing with Nike, he apparently didn't want to go ahead with the deal.

"He didn't want to go," David Falk, Jordan's sports agent, said recently on NBA player Kevin Durant and sports agent Rich Kleiman's interview series "The Boardroom." "He didn't know anything about it, didn't like the shoes, didn't want to go."

Falk, a prominent NBA agent, was a driving force behind the launch of the Jordan brand. In his interview on "The Boardroom," which was published on YouTube on Tuesday, Falk said that in the early 1980s, Nike was not the dominant brand it is today. That glory belonged to Converse, which had been the official shoe of the Olympic Games for over 30 years and had signed deals with major athletes like Magic Johnson.

"And Adidas had everybody else that mattered," Falk said. "And I thought that Nike was the hungriest for Michael, that they needed him the most, that they would do the most."

Despite Jordan's hesitation, the deal happened and the Jordan brand was born. The Air Jordan sneaker earned $100 million in 1985 for Nike, which went on to buy the Converse brand in 2003.

Today, Nike is the preeminent sports brand, and the Jordan brand is still iconic. Rare pairs of Air Jordans have sold for as much as $20,000 on resale marketplaces like StockX and Stadium Goods.

Unity and Inclusion: Refugees and the Jordanian Host Community [EN/AR] – Jordan – ReliefWeb

Authored by Kareem Rosshandler, Lead Researcher at the North Africa-West Asia Institute, on Behalf of the MENA Civil Society Network for Displacement

1. Background to Unity and Inclusion

This report assesses to what extent refugees in Jordan are living in a state of unity and inclusion. Unity primarily concerns refugees ability to physically reunite with family members. Unity depends on legal and financial variables such as whether or not refugees are living in a country that supports family reunification or whether they are able to collect the funds to bring over family members. As for refugees already living with their family members, unity refers to their psycho-social unity. In other words, how do various social factors especially pressures affect the way family members behave towards each other? Inclusion concerns the extent to which refugees have been included in Jordanian society both in terms of their legal standings as well as their daily experiences with Jordanian neighbours and colleagues.

The objective of this report is to bring to light the challenges facing refugee families in Jordan in the hopes of improving host country, third-country, and donor policies. Seeking beyond common material indicators, the report seeks to convey critical but often overlooked aspects of refugee life in Jordan.

The report draws on Jordans experience as a host country since the early 2000s, specifically in its reception of Iraqi, Sudanese, Somali, Syrian, and Yemeni refugees. Its findings are based on ten focus group discussions two from each of these five communities in July and August of 2019. 117 people participated in the discussions 60 women and 57 men. Almost all lived in households ranging from four to eight members. The conceptual backdrop to the study is the United Nations General Assemblys 2018 endorsement of the Global Compact on Refugees, an initiative spearheaded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

The Global Compact on Refugees represents the international communitys will to strengthen cooperation and solidarity with both refugees and host countries. Specifically, its objectives are to: (i) ease pressures on host countries; (ii) enhance refugee self-reliance; (iii) expand access to third-country solutions; and (iv) support conditions in countries of origin for return in safety and dignity. It represents a landmark in terms of global compacts; while the 1951 Convention on Refugees and its 1967 Protocol formulate the duties of host countries towards refugees, the Global Compact, in turn, establishes a framework for the international communitys duties towards host countries. By recognising the effects of displacement, not only on refugees, but also on the communities and states in which they have resettled, the compact affirms the principles of burden and responsibility-sharing.

The international communitys affirmation of burden and responsibility sharing principles comes as a welcome relief to Jordan, a country long considered a dependable but overstrained destination for refugees from the region and beyond. In light of this national context, this report encourages the nexus of refugees, host countries, and the international community. The first step in fostering effective cooperation between these links is to bring to light difficult situations experienced firsthand by refugees.
