Unknown actor cast as Cyborg in 'Batman Vs Superman'

Little known actor Ray Fisher has been cast in the role of Cyborg in the forthcoming Batman Vs Superman.

Best known for his theatre work, Fisher only has one previous screen role on his resume; a small part in 2008 short film The Good, The Bad and The Confused. Since then he has largely focused on stage acting and won acclaim for his portrayal of Muhammad Ali in the stage production Fetch Clay, Make Man.

The Hollywood Reporter carries the story that Fisher is in negotiations to play promising footballer turned superhero Victor Stone.

As confirmed earlier this year, Hans Zimmer is set to compose the soundtrack for Batman Vs Superman, which will see Henry Cavill reprise his role as Superman and Ben Affleck step into Bruce Wayne's alter ego.

It was recently revealed that Batman Vs Superman has been delayed by 10 months and will now open on May 6, 2016 to "allow the filmmakers time to realise fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story". The film was originally slated for a Summer 2015 release.

Marvel to Debut Deathlok Solo Comic Book Series This Fall

Courtesy of Joe Jusko/Marvel Entertainment

Fresh from his on-screen debut as part of Agents of SHIELD, Marvel has revealed that Deathlok will be returning to comic stores on a regular basis later this year in a new series launching from the upcoming Original Sin storyline.

The character will return as part of the June-launching Original Sins anthology series, it was revealed on Wednesday, before receiving his own series afterwards. The Original Sins story will be by Nathan Edmondson and Mike Perkins, but no creative team has been officially confirmed for the latter ongoing series.

STORY: Marvel Announces Mystery Comics as Part of Original Sin Event

Fans of the ABC series' incarnation of the character may be surprised by the new series; however, according to Marvel, it won't be former SHIELD agent Mike Peterson (J. August Richards) playing thecyborg killing machine in the comic books, but Michael Collins, a former computer coder who woke up one day to find his brain transferred into a cyborg body.

Collins is only one of multiple Deathloks in the Marvel Comics continuity, including two different versions from separate alternate futures, one of whom was last seen hanging out with the X-Men. Whether or not this means it's more likely that well eventually see a comic book Peterson -- or whether he'd be entirely unnecessary, given the number of analogs already available -- remains to be seen.

Original Sins #1, featuring the return of Deathlok, will be released in June.

Cris Cyborg gives up on the idea of fighting at bantamweight

Guilherme Cruz, MMA Fighting

Cris Cyborg will not cut down to 135 pounds after all.

Two and a half months after announcing her decision to drop to the bantamweight division for a bout at Invicta FC 10, the first and only Strikeforce and Invicta FC featherweight champion confirmed she wont try cutting the extra 10 pounds anymore.

"I cant. From now on, I will only fight at my weight or in a catchweight," Cyborg told Tatame on Monday. "I havent fought in a long time and thats why I want to go back to my division."

Speaking to MMAFighting.com on Dec. 3, the Brazilian brawler said she had postponed the drop to bantamweight, but turns out that the lack of commitment from both UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and the UFC president Dana White on making the anticipated super fight forced Cyborg to change her mind.

"I realized Im the only one making an effort for this fight to happen," she said. "I believe both should make an effort."

Cyborg, who attended Saturdays UFC on FOX 13 in Phoenix, expects to put her Invicta FC 145-pound title on the line in February.
