Roughcut TV Lands Rights To Little Disasters From Sarah Vaughan, The Author Behind Netflix Series Anatomy Of A Scandal – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: In a competitive situation, Roughcut TV, the BAFTA-winning British producer behind Stath Lets Flats and People Just Do Nothing, has swooped for the rights to adapt Sarah Vaughans fourth novel into a television series.

The company, spearheaded by The Office producer Ash Atalla, considers the deal for Little Disasters to be an important moment in its strategy to move into high-end drama. It follows Vaughan becoming a hot property in TV after Netflix set an adaptation of her third book, Anatomy Of A Scandal, with Big Little LiescreatorDavid E. Kelley showrunning and Sienna Miller starring.

Little Disasters is apsychological thriller, centering on pediatrician, Dr Liz Trenchard, who is surprised to find the child of her close friend, Jess, has been admitted to accident and emergency. Jess is an attentive mother, but Trenchard has a dreadful feeling that her friends explanation for what happened doesnt reflect the childs injuries. As she alerts the authorities, Jess life unravels and guarded secrets surface, with consequences for their friendship group.

Roughcut TV is currently interviewing writers for the series and is yet to take the project to market. Vaughan said she was blown away by the companys pitch for the book, saying it has a commitment to being brave and true to the darkness of the story.

Roughcuts drama development producer Marianna Abbotts, who works alongside head of scripted Alex Smith, added: Sarahs meticulously researched story bravely explores the dark reaches and intense love of motherhood through a taut, compelling psychological thriller. The female friendships at the heart of the book and the way mothers judge each other make this a hugely universal and relatable subject.

Roughcut TV is currently working on a third season of Channel 4s BAFTA-winning realtor comedy Stath Lets Flats, which has been picked up by HBO Max in the U.S., as well as a movie based on BBC Threes pirate radio mockumentary People Just Do Nothing.

Anatomy Of A Scandal is currently shooting in the UK. Michelle Dockery(Downton Abbey) andRupert Friend(Strange Angel) co-star in the anthology series about a high-flying Westminster politician whose marriage unravels when he is accused of rape. House Of CardsshowrunnerMelissa James Gibson is collaborating with Kelley on the drama, which is directed by S.J. Clarkson(Succession).

Roughcut TV is repped by CAA. Vaughans deal was brokered by Penelope Killick at David Higham Associates.

Grey’s Anatomy: 5 Characters Who Are Smarter Than They Seem (& 5 Vice Versa) – Screen Rant

Characters like Owen could be deemed as intelligent for obtaining a medical degree but that doesn't make them exempt from failing to use common sense.

All of the characters on Grey's Anatomy could be deemed as extremely intelligent for obtaining a medical degree alone, but that doesn't make them exempt from failing to use common sense in everyday situations and having more workplace romances than most real-life hospitals.

RELATED:10 Clichs That Grey's Anatomy And Other Medical Dramas Suffer From

HR at Grey-Sloan is most likely a logistical nightmare, and the decisions made by these characters throughout 17 seasons have surely added to hospitals reevaluating their own regulations and policies. Thankfully, no episode of Grey's Anatomy is complete without some sort of resolution or lesson, so that even when characters make choices leaving fans shaking their heads, they at least are able to learn and grow from them.

Aside from being a precocious child who skipped a grade, Lexie Grey often lived inthe shadow of her big half-sister, Meredith. In reality, Lexie was one of the smartest residents Seattle Grace had ever seen. She was on track to become a neurosurgery attending under the apprenticeship of her brother-in-law, Derek Shepard before her untimely demise.

Despite being the Chief of Surgery at Seattle Grace turned Grey-Sloan Memorial for many years,Richard Webber never quite got it rightwhen it came to his personal life. His marriage with Adele suffered for years because of his longstanding affair with Ellis Grey, and his nepotism shone through when he began mentoring Meredith in Season 6 in an attempt to get her to keep quiet about his resurfacing alcoholism.

RELATED:10 Funniest Grey's Anatomy Relationship Memes That'll Make Fans Laugh and Sob

As the head of surgery, one would think he would be smarter than to make a lot of the decisions he did over the course of the show.

Originally introduced as an all-mighty villain standing in the way of Derek and Meredith, Addison Montgomery proved herself to be much more than just the attending neurosurgeon's estranged wife. Addison never settled for less than she deserved with Mark, she had her patients best interests in mind as an OB/GYN, and even got her own spinoff, Private Practice.

When Owen Hunt was introduced as a love interest for Cristina Yang in Season 5 of Grey's Anatomy, it was easy for fans to view him as a stark contrast to Cristina's ex-fianc, Preston Burke.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 10 Major Flaws Of The Show That Fans Chose To Ignore

However, Owen was no stranger to mistakes, and he sure did make a lot of them. He always seemed to want what he couldn't have, and continuously tried to change all of the women he was involved with. He lost Cristina because she wouldn't have his baby, and after years of will-they-won't-they with Teddy, he ended up losing her too.

Teddy loses points for exposing herself cheating on Owen over voicemail, sure, but viewers have to give credit where credit is due to Doctor Altman. In season 7, she married a patient so he could have proper health insurance, and ended up having one of the healthiest relationships on the show because of it.

Henry's death was devastating, but his storyline proved that Teddy was a lot more than Owen's maybe-lover, and her marrying him both extended and improved his life.

Yes, Derek Shepherd was an award winning neurosurgeon, but a lot of his choices throughout the series made fans think twice about his intelligence. First, he had an affair with an intern, and when his wife came back around he shattered the heart of the love of his life by trying to fix a broken marriage.

RELATED:10 Questionable Dating Choices In Grey's Anatomy

Additionally, Derek continuously acted in his own self-interest, like when he took full credit for the Alzheimer's trial he created alongside Meredith and the whole almost-affair in D.C.

Alex Karev started the show has an arrogant intern who thought he was better than everyone else. Because of his attitude, his fellow interns despised him and actually thought less of him. His growth throughout the series allowed fans to find him incredibly lovable and a genuinely talented surgeon.

His knowledge of pediatrics showed just how intelligent of a doctor he was, and he emotionally matured by making smarter romantic decisions, such as his relationship with Jo (just ignore Season 16, Episode 16!).

Izzie Stevens was labeled 'Doctor Model' during her intern years and often tried to prove herself because of it. However, Izzie could never separate her emotions from logic, such as when she cut Denny's L-VAD wire in Season 2, and then left the hospital after he passed away.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 5 Characters Who Give The Best Romance Advice (& 5 Who Give The Worst)

For being a doctor, it sure took Izzie a long time to realize she was dying of cancer, and communication never seemed to be her strong suit, especially in relationships, because she ran off the second things got hard in her and Alex's marriage.

April Kepner started as the mousy brunette from Mercy West who had a childlike crush on Derek, but turned into the redheaded trauma surgeon viewers didn't know they needed.

April's smartest moments included her speech to Gary Clark during the hospital shooting, where she told him her life story so he'd view her as a human and spare her life, which he did, and leaving her first wedding to Matthew to be with her true love Jackson (even if that didn't entirely work out in the end).

There's no doubt that Meredith Grey is a great surgeon. She is the daughter of Ellis Grey, after all. A lot of Meredith's acting out is a result of her paternity, like having an affair with an attending as an intern, putting her hand on a bomb in a patient's chest cavity, nearly drowning, putting herself between her husband and a gunman, etc.

Meredith Grey is brave, but that doesn't make her decisions all that smart.

transcript

transcript

Hi, Im Chlo Zhao. I am the writer, director, editor, and one of the producers of Nomadland. Hi, may I help you? This scene was shot in the Badlands National Park where Fern is doing a summer camp hosting job. This is a situation where we mix professional and non-professional actors. There are two actors in the scene. There is Fern played by Frances McDormand. Then theres Dave played by David Strathairn This is going to be really exciting. Some of the people that are playing the tourists, theyre actually tourists at the National Park. The one thing I think is interesting to talk about in this scene is everything is scripted and staged. But through casting, cinematography and the editing, our goal is to make you feel as if this is really happening. As if she just showed up and improvised everything. The time of day is very important in shooting a scene like this in the Badlands. The texture of the rocks in the Badlands looks very different, the colors throughout the day. So its that last 25 minutes when the sun already go behind the rocks. It was of the most intense magic hour hustles in the film. Fran has such an interesting body language that I love, that we wanted to bring into Fern. She reminds me of Buster Keaton or Chaplin. You just love seeing how she walks and runs and interacts with the space. And I think that it brings a little bit of humor to it. Frances is the one that came up with those white sneakers that she was wearing. Find anything interesting? Rocks! And then shes got these little pink socks, almost like a child getting lost. Its the first time that shes really embracing being a traveler. And enjoying the exploration. So in this scene shes exploring, but shes also lost at the same time.

Why Rob Lowe Passed on Greys Anatomy, Joined Parks and Rec and Boarded 9-1-1: Lone Star – Variety

Rob Lowe has cut quite a path through primetime during the 20-plus years since he joined The West Wing.

He turned down Greys Anatomy, but landed in the ensemble of Parks and Recreation. He sold a show about chasing Bigfoot with his sons to A&E Network. From 2003 to 2018 he was also a regular or recurring on series Code Black, The Grinder, Californication, Brothers and Sisters, Dr. Vegas and The Lyons Den. Then there was the scene-stealing turn as a plastic surgeon in 2013s Behind the Candelabra, and roles in U.K. episodic series productions including 2005s Beach Girls, 2015s You, Me and the Apocalypse and 2019s Wild Bill.

Last year, Lowe landed his biggest hit yet as a TV leading man when he moved into Ryan Murphys orbit as the star of Foxs 9-1-1: Lone Star. In the spinoff of the procedural about emergency responders, Lowe plays Owen Strand, a New York City firefighter and 9/11 survivor who relocates to Austin, Texas with his son. Lowes frontline hero battles lung cancer and many other demons in an action-drama series that blends procedural and serial elements. Led by showrunner/executive producer Tim Minear, Lone Star is known for adding the occasional offbeat touches that break the network procedural mode.

The Ryan Murphy World special sauce is what makes doing a semi-procedural interesting for me as an actor, Lowe says. We have all of the elements of the genre, but in this iteration there are elements of the unexpected. It can be authentic and honest and then become almost absurdist. We do wild tone swings. It keeps it fresh for me.

9-1-1: Lone Star was tailored for Lowe in the lead role. He appreciates the weight of playing a first responder in the time of COVID-19.

I think its a good thing to spotlight real-life heroes, Lowe says. They may not wear masks and capes, but their stories are every bit as compelling. Probably more so.

One of Lowes advantages is his versatility, which means an array of projects come his way.

Im lucky enough to be on both lists the comedy list and the drama list, which is good. Its good not to be pigeonholed, he says.

Lowe was a natural from his earliest days in front of the camera. One of his first career breaks was a starring role in the 1980 ABC Afterschool Special titled A Schoolboy Father. Lowe played a teenager who becomes a father after hooking up with a girl at summer camp.

In one of the first scenes, a shirtless Lowe is getting ready to go to school, looking in a mirror, combing in his hair and singing along with music coming from a radio. Its a tricky picture-in-picture scene for an untrained actor to pull off. Lowe nailed it with ease despite his limited experience at the time, Arthur Allan Seidelman, the specials director, remembers.

Rob had a vulnerability about him a very real honest quality that was so appealing, Seidelman recalls. He was simple and real and he could convey the essence of what this boy was experiencing.

Child actors in particular can develop bad habits that stifle their development. Seidelman calls it Mommy told me to say it this way syndrome. Lowe was obviously untrained, but it was evident he had the goods.

It was clear that there was a real engaging, honest talent there that came together in a very attractive package, Seidelman says.

The against-the-odds trajectory of Lowes career is underscored by the tragic fate of his Schoolboy Father co-star, Dana Plato. At the time, Plato was a co-star of the hit NBC sitcom Diffrent Strokes. But her career stalled after she left the show. Plato went into a downward spiral of drug abuse and died in 1999 at the age of 34.

Even at the sage of 16, Lowe was a serious young pro, Seidelman recalls.

Given that hes never stopped working, Lowe has no regrets about his decision to pass on what became a career-making role for Patrick Dempsey as surgeon Derek McDreamy Shepherd on the Shonda Rhimes juggernaut Greys Anatomy. He has learned to keep focused on whats ahead rather than what might have been.

This is what longevity, experience and recovery give you. There are no accidents, he says. Whatever decision you come to, if you come to it from the right place, its never wrong.

Moreover, Lowes not convinced he was right for the show. Me in that part isnt as interesting as Patrick in that part, he says. If itd been me (the fans) wouldnt have called me McDreamy, they would have called me Rob Lowe.

But most important, the nay to Greys Anatomy put Lowe in the position to show off his comedy chops as the neurotically optimistic small-town city official Chris Traeger in NBCs much-lauded comedy Parks and Recreation.

Had I done Greys, I wouldnt have been in Parks and Recreation. That alone for me is enough, he says.

Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe in Parks and RecreationNBC/Courtesy Everett Collectio

Lowes most unusual TV role was one he created for himself and his adult sons, Matthew and Johnowen. A&E Network had approached the elder Lowe about hosting a show about home renovation and flipping. In a meeting with A+E Networks executive Rob Sharenow at the Disney commissary in Burbank, Lowe advanced a very different agenda.

I said, How about a show where my sons and I go look for Bigfoot? Lowe recalls with a satisfied snicker. Ill never forget, Sharenow was like Umdid you just say you would do a show where you look for Bigfoot? I said, Fuck, yeah, I would. And that was that.

The result was 2017s The Lowe Files, an unscripted series that was party buddy comedy, part road trip and partly devoted to the Lowe trio investigating reports of paranormal phenomena in odd corners of the country. The concept combined two of my favorite shows: Anthony Bourdain and Scooby-Doo, Lowe says.

The Lowe Files reflected the whimsy and wonder that Lowe tried to share with his sons as they grew up. The series ran eight episodes. For sure, one of those hours was focused on the hunt for Sasquatch, who had a history with Matthew and Johnowen.

I rented a Bigfoot costume from Western Costume once and ran around in the woods in it when we were on a camping trip, Rob Lowe says. Thats what it was like to grow up in the Lowe household.

In fact it was Lowes desire to be present in the lives of his children during their childhood years that helped spur him to embrace steady TV work that kept him from having to be on movie sets in far-flung locations for most of the year.

I was able to coach Little League. It was a joyous luxury, Lowe says.

Lowe has branched out into other pursuits over the years, but acting remains his core passion.

Acting is about being understood. Its about finding the moments without being too hifalutin where people can recognize the human condition, he says. That can be as silly as The Grinder or The Lowe Files or something more straightforward like 9-1-1: Lone Star with themes of sacrifice, service and loss. Thats what I like about acting.

Grey’s Anatomy: All The Relationship Statuses Before Season 17 Returns – CinemaBlend

After Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) slept with Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) on her and Owen Hunts wedding day, which was overheard by a whole surgery team via Owens voicemail, Teddy admitted to Owen that she had been in love with her friend Allison, their daughters namesake. Teddy told Owen she knew that fact is related to what happened with Tom, but she wasnt sure how. Owen laughed cruelly at Teddy and said he never knew her at all. We named our daughter after a lie.

As for Koracick, Teddy didn't sound like she was ready to let him go, as she sat at his bedside after his COVID took a bad turn. At the very least she wanted to salvage their friendship, saying there was a ray of hope for them. He woke up and the two shared a strange, flirty exchange, with Tom suggesting a sponge bath, but, you know, as friends. With Owens firm rejection of Teddy in the winter finale, I'm not shutting the door on Tom and Teddy just yet.

Grey’s Anatomy: The Worst Thing About Each Main Character – Screen Rant

The characters in Grey's Anatomy are wonderfully human, which invariably implies that they are flawed and have less than desirable traits.

The medical dramaGrey's Anatomyalreadygave acheck-out pass from the show to most of its original cast, as old characters were replaced by new ones, or these were added tocreate new storylines. From stormy romances and surprising personal experiences to impossible-turned-possiblepatient cases, fans have seen it all. Yet, the series' shocking and complex characters are one of the main reasons why viewers are still stuck with the showafter 17 seasons.

RELATED:10 Times Grey's Anatomy Tackled Deep Issues

Currently, the resident cast is very different than it was just a few seasons ago. And as much as the audience continues to want to be engaged with life lessonsthroughthe physicians' lives, thesedoctors are flawed like everybody else. All of them have a single trait that distinguishes them (and, at times, can make them almost unbearable).

Yes, Dr. Wilson's tough life deserves to not be forgotten as she has been through difficulthardships like only a few other of her peers did. Nobody can say she didn't havea traumatizing past and that was probably what made her union with Alex much more special since they both understood relationship failures.

While she is a very strong character, and the audience has empathized more with her as she startedopening up about her backstory and vulnerabilities, Jo is seen venting too often and, in turn, can involuntarilyseem annoying.

As Teddy is introduced in the show as a fan-favorite character in season 6, nobody imagined the confusing events that would follow her choices in her personal relationships. While Dr. Altmanhas a good heart and can be a charming person at times, she is also a frustrating one. Fans hate her for what she has put Owen through while being unsure of her back-and-forth affair with Koracick.

RELATED:Greys Anatomy: Why The Show Should End (& 5 Why Fans Want It To Keep Going)

Right from the beginning,Altman and Huntshared a friendship that was built on a strong foundationbut her lack of decision-making capacity has completely ruined things. To this day, herfears make her act in very hurtful ways.

Most fans would agree that Owen doesn't do almost anything wrongin the series. Unfortunately, he is a traumatized PTSD surgeon who had to witness a lot of death and loss while on a war mission, plus a fair share of personal losses in his life.

If anything, the majority of people feel sorry for the man who has also poured his heart out to several women but has not been able to get his "happy ending". However, his quick-tempered personality has certainly contributed to the failure of hisromantic relationships. His aggressive style, whetherprojecting his dreamsonto his lovers or (quite literally!) with his own hands, has scared all ofthem.

She has been called "selfish" by manyand for good reason. While some characters have made decisionsbased on a specific motivation, likeclimbing the career ladder or finding true love, Amelia's story arc has, more often than not, proved that she tends to be self-absorbed and pitiful.

However, she has had a fewphases where she redeemed herself when supporting her sisters through their low moments or when Owen discovered his sister's whereabouts. Now, with the birth of her child alongsideLink's support, viewers hope that thisnew chapter intomotherhood willchange Amelia into a more compassionate, selfless person.

DeLuca's mental health storyline didn't reveal itself in the first few seasonswhen this character was added to the show. While Grey's Anatomy is used to approachmental illnesses and the stigmas that come with them, including struggles with addiction, there are fans who are not happy with the show portraying Andrew as an unstable manand feel like it's a result of poor writing, rather than wanting to portray bipolar disorder in a compassionate and realistic way.

Frequently,Dr. Webberaka "The Chief" has played the role of the wise, responsible, paternal figure to his younger and less experienced medical team. However, his character has developed ever since the first season, and fans got to see many layers of who Richard really is.

Even though viewers lovehim as a leader, a teacher, and a role model for a new generation of surgeons, there have been events where his softness while dealing with others has put him in a tough spot.Sure, he had a heavy storyline around his fight against alcoholism and another one about his troubled family life. But it's in his work that his biggest weakness shows off: being too understanding and forgiving of others' mistakes.

Not only does Dr. Bailey wear plenty of hats on the show (the mother, the superwoman, the advisor, the wife, the compassionate doctor, and so on), she has also been around since day one. That means she got to help dozens of characters grow into amazing doctors. But if there is one majorthing that could bepointed out asher worst trait is that she tends to be too uptight.

As her character grew from a resident surgeon into becoming the Chief of Surgery, fans got to see her taking on too many responsibilities - to the point that it almost killed her. Hence, the nickname "The Nazi" she earned from her colleagues for having revealed a very serious and strict side of her while on duty.

It might be hard to be humble when you're a rich heartthrob who is used to naturally (and easily!) steal women's hearts all the time, due to your obvious good-looking physique and attractive charisma. Jackson is very intelligent and extremely competent in what he does but the worst thingabout him is coming off with a certain level of arrogance. This attitude has been shown in several moments and pride is certainly not something that this character lacks.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 5 Characters Who You Would Want Over For The Holidays (And 5 You Don't)

Even if in later seasons he has started to reveal more humility and maturity, especially since becoming a dad,he often thinks he is right and is quick to endrelationships out of nowhere - hurting other people's feelings. Even if in later seasons he has started to reveal more humility and maturity, especially since becoming a dad,he often thinks he is right and is quick to endrelationships out of nowhere - hurting other people's feelings.

In Grey's Anatomy'sworld, if anyoneneeds adoctor that is perfect in their craft, particularly in the Cardio area,Dr. Pierce is the woman other characters will call.Few other surgeons take their work as seriously as her, almost likeCristina Yang did.Like her predecessor, Maggie is bright, a little genius, and her medical performance is outstanding for her age and work experience.

Yet, herpassion for herjob cango to any lengths to ensure she learns what it takes to be the best - ending up being too much of a perfectionist and always trying to do things 100% right. The toll the pressure of perfectionism has taken on her has been the worst thing about this character as it has prevented her to live her personal life more fully.

The protagonist of the showis apragmatic, fierce, andimpeccable doctorwhoisn'tafraid to speak her mind. She is almost that kind ofphysicianwho believes that she's so talented that she can't ever be wrong. Whether it's working or inher personal life, she barely ever admits that she is wrong.

Grey's stubborn attitude is definitely the worst thing about her. Of course, any big fan ofGrey's Anatomycan make a list ofMeredith's greatest qualities and feel empathy for the losses she had to endure, but there's a dark and twisty side to her that when allied to stubbornness, can be quite frustrating.

Julia Child Graduated From a College Featured in ‘Sex and the City’, Grey’s Anatomy’ and Other Shows – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Julia Child changed the face of cooking shows. The wildly popular television personality learned to cook in France and became a sensation later in life. Before she started teaching Americans the wonder of French cuisine, she had an awe-inspiring life. Child attended boarding school and later Smith College, where she graduated in 1934. While Child is one of the schools real-life graduates, several fictitious characters call the school their Alma Mater. Smith College is referenced in pop culture rather often, actually.

Before Child moved into the culinary world and became a beloved television personality, she worked for the United States government. Her government work inadvertently led her to her husband and, eventually, her television career. Before all of that, she had to get an education, though.

RELATED: Julia Child Described Her First Meal In France As The Most Exciting Of Her Life

After being raised in Pasadena, California, Child moved to the East Coast to attend college. While at Smith College, Child played basketball, continuing her high school career that took advantage of her height. According to Smith College, Child graduated in 1934 with a degree in history.

Several well-respected schools were mentioned during the course of Gilmore Girls. While Yale was the most noted university, the show also gave nods to Princeton, Harvard, and Sarah Lawrence College. While Richard Gilmore was a Yale alum, his beloved wife, Emily Gilmore, attended Smith College.

Richard and Emily met while Richard was an undergraduate student at Yale and Emily was an undergraduate student at Smith. While neither mention exactly when they graduated, it can be assumed that the pair were in college in the 1960s. Yale didnt go coed until 1969. Until then, Smith was considered the schools sister college.

Emily Gilmore wasnt the only famous, fictitious character to attend Smith College. Charlotte York, the famed Sex and the City gallerina, mentioned the school multiple times during the shows six-season run. Funnily enough, only Charlotte and Miranda Hobbes said where they attended college. Miranda earned her law degree from Harvard University.

Greys Anatomy has mentioned multiple schools during its lengthy run. Both East Coast and West Coast schools are represented. Cristina Yang, the Greys Anatomy character, earned her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. Before she landed in California, she earned her undergraduate degree from Smith College.

When Will ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Come Back? The Winter Hiatus Is a Long One – Cosmopolitan

Now that the holidays are officially behind us, so many shows that went on hiatus in December are finally back. But theres some bad news for Greys Anatomy fans like me: Our fave show isnt one of them. Even though it feels like Season 17 just startedand technically it did, with the premiere episode airing on November 12, its on hiatus right now. So when will Greys Anatomy come back and bless our Thursday nights again?

This is where the bad news comes in, because yall, its gonna be awhile. The next new episode airs Thursday, March 4 which might as well be three years from now with the way 2021 has gone so far. A lot will happen between then and now, including a new president being inaugurated and Valentines Day. But theres good news, too. When the show comes back, were in for some good TV.

To recap, this season has been taking place in the real 2020, tackling how the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital are handling the pandemic while Meredith is struggling with a particularly bad case of COVID-19 herself. During her COVID dreams, shes seeing some of our favorite former cast members come back to life on the beach inside her head, including Derek and George (and thats just who weve seen so far).

This content is imported from Instagram. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

Where the show left off in the mid-season finale, things werent looking great. Koracick was in the hospital with COVID himself, and though Merediths condition seemed to be getting better, she took a turn for the worse and had to be placed on a ventilator. Fortunately, it does sound like theres a reason to be hopeful for Meredith, according to what showrunner Krista Vernoff said in an interview with Deadline.

I will say that historically Meredith has defied statistics like that, Vernoff said. She has top of the line medical care and an entire team of people dedicated to doing every single thing they can to save her and she has a rough road ahead.

If Meredith could survive a bomb going off, a deadly plane crash, a hospital shooting, and all of the other traumatic events that I probably forgot about because there are too many, then it would make sense if she survived COVID, too, but obviously, we know that in COVID doesn't work that way in real life.

Vernoff also added that shes hoping to recruit more former cast members to appear in future episodes, so fingers crossed that when season 17 returns for new episodes, it includes Meredith running into Sloan and Lexie on that beach. Now that weve seen George and Derek, those two have got to be next.

When Will 'Grey's Anatomy' Come Back? The Winter Hiatus Is a Long One - Cosmopolitan

Three-man shortlists and three scouting tests anatomy of a Leicester City transfer – Leicestershire Live

Leicester City have just a few days remaining in the January transfer window to bring in the attacking midfielder they crave.

But how do they go about picking the player they will pursue? And how do they have such an enviable success rate in the transfer market? Here is a look at the process they go through.

Meeting of minds

The process starts with a meeting between manager Brendan Rodgers, head of recruitment Lee Congerton, who followed him down from Celtic, and City's director of football Jon Rudkin, and finishes with a list of three targets, ranked by preference, for Rudkin to chase up.

Rodgers explains: We will have a look at where the gaps are in the squad and where we want to improve. We'll then highlight the positions where we need to strengthen.

Then Lee will go away along with Jon and his team of people, they will then come up with the players that fit the profile of the market that we are in.

Then, once they've done that, we'll sit down and look at the recommendations that come through. That's a whittled down number of players.

From there, there will be three options that we would be happy to get in. We hope we would get the number one option. That's the process.

And then once the player has been identified, Jon and Lee will go away and see if they can complete the deal for the club.

Three types of scouting

There is a mix of scouting involved in finding the right player. The recruitment team use statistics to pick out targets, and City have Mladen Sormaz in a recently-created head of analytics role to really drill down into the numbers, but any potential signing also has to pass the eye test, while calls are also put in to determine their personality.

Rodgers says: (Analytics) is a significant part of recruitment now but it has to be in balance.

We have Mladen here who does a lot of that work for us along with the other scouts. When we identify a player, he will specifically look at the statistics and that side of it.

Its always in balance because statistics will never tell you if a player has a heart, or what his technique is like. You can only see that when they play, and you get to know that with the people you speak with.

Its a useful tool, but so is someone having a good set of eyes and seeing the potential in a player.

Why are City so good?

A lot of Citys success has been on forward planning, and having a pipeline as Rodgers has described it.

When Harry Maguire left the club, Caglar Soyuncu was able to step up more seamlessly because he had been signed a year earlier and had been able to settle.

It was the same case for James Justin this season, the young full-back more confidently filling Ben Chilwells boots at left-back because he had 12 months experience under his belt.

Rodgers recently said that City have a pipeline for every player in the squad, with lists that are constantly being updated with the latest names.

Brendan Rodgers has kept his powder dry this January, but there is time for that to change before transfer deadline day on Monday, with window closing at 11pm.

On how City have been so successful, Rodgers says: Its understanding the market youre in. We know the types of players we want to bring in. Well never be spending 60m to 80m on a player. We have a profile of a player that we like and that we want and that fits into the model of our game and we will be competitive in trying to get that player in.

When theyve come in, theyve been great. Lee and his team have been fantastic, getting in players like Wesley, and James Justin, hes been outstanding. If you look at the other players, Dennis Praet has come in and been very good, Timothy Castagne, Ayo Perez has been very efficient.

Its a huge credit to them, they do a great job, and we get amazing support from the owners.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’: Japril Was Terrible — Matthew and April Should Have Always Been the OTP – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Greys Anatomy may be classified as a medical drama, but its full of steamy romances and heart-wrenching love stories. Meredith and McDreamy may have been the prom queen and king of the series, but another couple comes pretty close as far as fans are concerned.

Jackson and April were one of the fans favorite couples. When Matthew came into the mix and April found herself in a love triangle, fans everywhere chose sidesit was either Japril or Mapril, and nothing in between. Although April is no longer on the series, fans are still talking about Japril.

Some miss the couple and wish she had chosen to stay with Jackson, while others feel that she never should have left Matthew in the first place.

At first glance, April Kepner appeared to be the hospitals most naive, innocent resident when she arrived at Seattle Grace (now known as Grey Sloan Memorial). She was quiet, timid, and a bit awkward to boot. She had grown up on a farm, the youngest of three assertive sisters, and it definitely showed.

April showed everyone that they were wrong, however. She turned out to have a fiercely competitive spirit and unwavering drive. She took her job very seriously, and was willing to learn anything that could help her improve her skills. She also wasnt afraid to get her hands dirty and never backed down from a challenge.

The red-haired young resident was part of a merger between Seattle Grace and Mercy West. The beginning of her time on this newly merged team didnt go so well. A tragic hotel fire brought in a massive amount of patients, and amid all the chaos, April made a serious mistake on a patient.

She failed to check the patients airway, which ended up being filled with soot. She later went into cardiac arrest and died, and April was fired.

April was later rehired when Derek Shepherd became the new Chief of Surgery. Her confidence was very low after making a mistake that cost a patient her life, and she was reluctant to get back into surgery. Derek helped her see that she had incredible talent, and eventually she became comfortable enough to try again.

Jackson Avery may be undeniably gorgeous, but he also has a brilliant mind behind those clear green eyes. When Jackson joined the team at the hospital, he was already well-knownhis family was, anyway. His grandfather was the prestigious Harper Avery, one of the most famous surgeons in the entire country. In fact, he even had a coveted award named after him.

His familys wealth and notoriety paired with his good looks gave Jackson the label of a spoiled rich kid. His co-workers assumed he had been handed everything throughout his life (which he pretty much was), and that he had no grasp of hard work. In reality, Jackson actually pushed himself very hard because his family never did.

Jackson was a hero during a traumatic shooting at the hospital. The gunman, a widower who blamed Derek Shepherd for his wifes death, held Jackson and his fellow surgeon, Cristina, at gunpoint while they operated on Derek. In a stroke of genius, Jackson pretended that Derek had flatlined. The gunman was so relieved that hed achieved his revenge, he ended his rampage.

RELATED: Greys Anatomy: How Sarah Drew Really Feels About April and Jacksons Ending

Theres no denying that Jackson and April have had a tumultuous relationship. Their on-again, off-again romance has touched fans hearts, and most of them have a strong opinion on whether the two really belong together. Many people think April is better off married to Matthew, and has finally gotten the happy ending she deserved.

The turning point in Greys Anatomy came at April and Matthews beautiful wedding. Mid-ceremony, Jackson stood up and sat down several times, appearing to have some sort of mental crisis figuring out what he wanted to do. When he finally says that he loves her and wants her to be with him, April is shocked (as well as the guests). The two ran off together and she left Matthew behind.

Many fans on Reddit believe that April never should have left Matthew in the first place, since they ended up getting married years later anyway. I wish April had never left Matthew at the altar. They were a better couple than Japril. Others agreed, saying, I wish the same only because they put them back together in the end. At least then April would be with someone that has some pride.

Others disagree, saying that April needed that time to get Jackson out of her system. If she hadnt left him at the altar she probably wouldve cheated with Jackson anyway. They were in love. Even when she was engaged her and Matthew wouldve never worked the first time. Others feel that she made the right choice, because it wouldnt have been right for her to stay with Matthew when she really loved Jackson. You may think Matthew was a better match, but he wasnt the man she loved so it wouldve been unfair to him.

Whether you believe April should have ended up with Jackson or Matthew, the writers decided that Matthew was her best fit. Although, it is Greys Anatomy, where nothing is ever set in stone. Who knows what may happen in future seasons if April should decide to return

Gray’s anatomy: Abbeville’s third-round opponent has explosive offense – Index-Journal

Abbeville has played Gray Collegiate the past two years in the Class 2A state playoffs, winning both matchups in tight games.

The top two seeds in the Upper State meet again, this time at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Fairfield Central High School in Winnsboro in the third round of the playoffs.

Abbeville (12-0) comes into the game fresh off a victory against Saluda, which lost to Gray Collegiate in the regular season. Grays only loss a three-point defeat came on the road at Class 5A Gaffney.

Theyre outstanding, Abbeville coach Jamie Nickles said of Gray Collegiate. They have the best of everything. They have the best running back in the state and the best offensive lineman in the state. Their quarterback is one of the best. They just do a great job. They are well-coached. He (Adam Holmes) is one of the best coaches in the state. Everything they do is top notch.

That running back, KZ Adams, is a finalist for South Carolinas Mr. Football and a Shrine Bowl selection. Adams has 2,448 yards rushing and 34 touchdowns.

Nickles said its a nightmare trying to defend against Adams.

Hes just a one-of-a-kind athlete, Nickles said. His vision is incredible. Hes absolutely amazing. He has the ability to stop and cut on a dime.

Holmes said Adams is a special player.

I will probably never coach another kid like him, Holmes said. He is a true winner and a selfless player. He has done what he has done on offense while playing every snap of defense. He wants to do whatever it takes to help our team win. You just dont find too many kids like that today.

Gray quarterback Tre Robinson is a running threat. Top receivers include Devin Johnson (54 yards per game and nine touchdowns), Savion Smith and Austin Harris.

Defensively, the War Eagles have shut out five teams.

Weve got our work cut out for us this week, Nickles said. Their defense is outstanding. They have outstanding team size and speed on that size of the ball. They look like a college football team.

While the Panthers havent passed much, quarterback Zay Rayford has been efficient when he has. Rayford also has emerged as a serious rushing threat with zone reads.

Its just another aspect for opposing coaches to have to prepare for, Nickles said of Rayford.

On defense, the Panthers have thrived this year at linebacker and in the secondary. Linebackers Ty Cade, Logan Busbee and Darren Calhoun have led the way on the second level, while defensive backs Jeremiah Lomax (5 INTs), Javario Tinch (4 INTs) and CJ Vance (4 INTs) have led the way on the third level. Lomax was named to the Shrine Bowl roster on Tuesday.

In addition to Rayford, key Panther offensive players include Antonio Harrison (71 carries for 974 yards and 14 TDs), JMarion Burton (564 yards and 14 TDs) and Jamal Marshall (563 yards and seven TDs).

This will probably be one of the best matchups in the state, Holmes said. To win this game, you have to make big plays on offense, not give up the big play on defense, and not turn the football over. I am expecting a very exciting game.

Grey’s Anatomy: 10 Friendships That Should Have Happened But Never Did – Screen Rant

There were many friendships on Grey Anatomy that have come and gone. However, fans are disappointed that these characters didn't get more screen time.

The hit ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomyhas always prided itself on deliveringthe perfect mix of love, longing, loss, pain, and death. Over the years, several amazing friendships have formed between the characters.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 10 Things We're Looking Forward To In Season 17

From the touchingbond ofteam M.A.G.I.C.to other lovable friendships, such as that between April and Arizona or Miranda and Richard, the serieshas shownhow navigating complex human relationships is a part and parcel of daily life. However, that's not to say these were the best friendships. There were quite a few relationships that went largely ignored. In fact, there were several potential friendships the writers built up but never gave as much screen time to compared to the others. Just take a look at these examples...

Calliope Torres and Addison Montgomery were fan-favoritesand both actorscarved a niche for themselves on popular television with their beloved roles.

Callie and Addison were shown to be on the verge of a beautiful friendshipwhile going through challengesin their personal lives. Although their growing friendship was nipped at the bud as Addison left Seattle for good, this pairing could have, in time, becomeanother set of 'twisted sisters' like Cristina and Meredith.

Owen Hunt was Cristina's love interest for a long while and even ended up marrying her in season 7. The unfortunate thing was that Owen never became particularly friendly with Meredith who was his wife's best friend.

In fact, for some time Meredith wasn't on board with Cristina marrying Owen and her relationship with the trauma surgeon wasn't particularly smooth. In time, the two of them have become colleagues who respect one another but have never really been friends as such. However, asveterans of Grey Sloan, nothing would make more sense than for these two to be good friends.

Cristina Yang was one of the most beloved characters on Grey's as was the sprightly Callie Torres. Cristina was of course Meredith's best friend, but there was a brief period of time when Callie shared rooms with Cristina after both had broken up with their respective significant others.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 5 Times Cristina Was Meredith's Best Friend (& 5 Times It Was Alex)

Callie and Cristina were on friendly terms but their relationship never culminated into one where they would confide in each other like good friends usually do. Of course, Cristina was never very attached with anyone other than Meredith but she and Callie would have made a great empowered duo, with both having such strong, quirky personalities.

When Teddy Altman joined Seattle Grace, she was at a loose end with no real friends. The only person she knew was Owen who chose Cristina over her. But some efforts were made by the likes of Arizona Robbins to make her feel welcome and comfortable.

Arizona, adorably, asked Teddy to join her, Callie, and Bailey for a girls' night. While none of the others particularly wanted to spend time getting to know their new colleague, they tried to be gracious nonetheless. Arizona also offered Teddy advice from time to time, such as hooking up with Mark Sloan to take her mind off Owen. The two wouldhave made good friends and could have even become a great couple if Arizona hadn't left.

Cristina Yang was no easy person to make friends with and definitely not when it came to interns or surgical residents who she couldn't care less about.

But there was one resident, Stephanie Edwards, who had something of the makings of another Cristina in her. She was smart, competitive, and driven. In fact, she could have, in time, gone on to become a second Cristina Yang of sorts, although more emotionally connected and less mechanical. A friendship between these two would have made all the sense in the world.

April Kepner was one of those people who was good through and through, albeit a bit annoying at times, and Lexie Grey was possibly the sweetest, most gentle character the show's ever had.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 5 Of The Most Annoying Things Lexie Ever Did (& 5 Sweetest)

These two women could easily have been friends, makingeach otherstronger. In contrast to the twisted sisters, Cristina and Meredith, April and Lexie could have been something like the good sisters, helping people and fighting all the meanness directed their way together.

Two other people who would have made good friends were Maggie Pierce and her brother-in-law,Derek Shepherd.

In fact, when Maggie feltlost initially aftershe first joined the hospital, and Meredith was giving her the cold-shoulder, it was Derek who made efforts to make Maggie feel more at home. He even invited her home for dinner, trying to patch things up between Maggie, Meredith, and Richard. Had Derek lived, his cute camaraderie with his young sister-in-law would have been something to watch out for.

Another person who could have made a good friend for Derek was Bailey. Derek was shown to be on friendly terms with Burke and Webber, but he was also cordial with Bailey, who opened up to him about her past.

In fact, fans might recall a cute moment way back in season 4, when Derek and Miranda told each otherabout their respective history as teenagers. They found out that they were both in the high schoolband, and were, for the most part, lonely adolescents. Moreover, throughout Derek's time in Grey Sloan Memorial, he and Miranda often acted as each other's conscience, offering valuable advice, albeit in an off-hand manner. Although they never properly acknowledged it, these two could have been loyal friends intime.

Tom Koracick has been a polarising character from the start whenhe was introduced as Amelia's mentor and friend. He has a snarkysense of humor and is self-aggrandizing. However, the viewers know he has a softer side to him after learning of his profoundly tragic past.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: Miranda Bailey's Slow Transformation Over The Years (In Pictures)

One of those aware that Tom lost his only son is Bailey. Bailey started out by hating Tom but gradually learned to respect him grudgingly once she found out about his past. With both being strong personalities, the two would always be at loggerheads but can also be seen supporting one another in spite of disagreements. If Tom manages to recover from the Covid, the Bailey-Koracick friendship might be something to think of.

This might seem like an unlikely friendship but Alex Karev did respect Richard. When he initially joined the hospital as an arrogant surgical intern, Richard was one of the people who could keep Alex mellowed for all his insolent ways.

The two even sharedsome hilarious moments when Richard decided to help Alex give Jo Wilson's date, Jason, a hard time by teasing and humiliating him relentlessly. Alex also turned to Richard for advice more than once and asked him to take over as interim chief at Pacific-North Hospital when he was away. Let's not forget that Richard was also one of the few people Alex wrote to say goodbye to when he left abruptly in season 16.There was a strong bond here that went under the radar.

Grey’s Anatomy: The First & Last Line For Each Character Who Has Left The Show – Screen Rant

If fans take a closer look at these Grey-Sloan surgeons first and last lines, they will be able to see how much they have changed over the years.

ABCs Greys Anatomy is among the longest-running shows of all time. For years, it has kept the world entertained. There has been romance, drama, and some very exhilarating action sequences. Another reason why the viewers keep coming back is because of the talented and charismatic cast. Without them, the show wouldn't have lasted as long as it has.

RELATED: 10 Best Medical Dramas Airing Right Now

However, sometimes fans have had to say goodbye to certain fan-favorite characters as several actors have decided to pursue other roles. While many fans were disappointed with some exits, they did find it interesting how their last lines reflected their impact on the show. Especially when you compare it to their first.

Maybe its professional jealousy. Maybe shes brilliant and they call her Nazi because theyre jealous. No youre not, youre just a bunch of people I worked with, and I can find that anywhere.

Katherine Heigls Izzie Stevens starts out as an intern at Seattle Grace Hospital, just like Meredith Grey. In her first line, she was exploring the rationale over Dr. Miranda Baileys nickname. Overall, Heigl received praised for her portrayal of the character, although there were instances when Izzie stepped out of line and refused to follow hospital protocol. Heigl famously decided to leave the show after asking the Emmys to rescind her nomination. Her last line, which is in response to Meredith convincing her to stay, seems to echo Heigls actual sentiment towards the show at that time.

We Have A Wet Fish On Dry Land. - Do you?

Isaiah Washingtons Preston Burke was introduced to us at the beginning of the season and his first line references the remark he made upon being presented a patients case during the pilot. At some point, Preston falls for Merediths best friend, intern Cristina Yang.

Their story may have progressed differently had Washington not been fired from the show following allegations of using a homophobic slur against his co-star, T.R. Knight. Despite his firing, Washington reprised his role for an episode in season 10. In his last line, Preston asks Cristina if she wanted to manage his research hospital in Switzerland. The fact that his final line is just two words shows that Burke was no longer had an impact on the show.

You got the Nazi? So did I. At least well be tortured together. Thats how I thought it would start.

Knights delivers his first line to Meredith as they were about to start their first shift as interns under Dr. Bailey. Especially during the shows earlier seasons, it became clear that George had a serious crush on Meredith. Unfortunately, she didnt return his affections.

RELATED: Grey's Anatomy: 10 Most Tragic Patient Deaths, Ranked

During the season 5 finale, George reveals he joined the Army. In his last line, he responds to Baileys shock upon learning the news. If fans take a closer look at his first and last lines, one can see the progress of their relationship. Where he was initially fearful of Bailey, he ended up building a strong bond with her. Unfortunately, their friendship was cut short when George was killed off in a heartbreaking manner.

George OMalley? Thank you.

When she was introduced to the show, Callie was looking for George because she had to treat him after the intern dislocated his shoulder. This is why her first-ever line involves asking for him. In 2016, it was announced that actor, Sara Ramirez, who portrays Callie, was leaving the show.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the shows creator, Shonda Rhimes, issued a statement saying, I will miss Callie tremendously, but am excited for what the future holds for Sara. In her last line, Callie thanks Arizona after she allows her to move to New York and share custody of their daughter. Considering she had been a main character, her final words seemed a little anti-climatic.

You'd knowifyou'd bother to answer any one ofmyphonecalls. Its not yours."

Addisons first line involves the time she appears before Derek and Meredith. This is also the moment when the viewers learn that McDreamy is married. Comparing the two doctors, everyone can understand how Meredith could be threatened by Addison since shes a double board-certified OB/GYN who also specializes in neonatal surgery.

Fortunately for Meredith, Addison decided to end things and move to California. That said, Addisons last line happens in an episode that involves an alternate reality, one where Addison gets pregnant and she later confesses to Derek that hes not the father. It just goes to show that she and Derek were never meant to be.

Can I buy you a drink? Meant to be."

Lexie Grey made quite an impression from the very beginning. When the viewers were first introduced to the younger Grey, she did frustratefans as it appeared she could be another love interest, flirting with the neurosurgeon.

However, as the character evolved on the show, it became apparent that Mark Sloan was her true love. Despite all their ups-and-downs, everyone knew they couldn't stayaway from each other as something always drew them back together. In her last line, Lexie acknowledges that she and Mark were meant to be shortly before succumbing to her injuries in the plane crash.

Ihearone of them is a model. Seriously? Like that's going to help with the respect thing. Lets do it.

Cristina delivers her first line as she was about to start her first day of internship with Meredith. Throughout her time on the show, she became one of the best doctors that Grey-Sloan has ever had. She was also seen to become romantically involved with Preston Burke and Owen Hunt.

RELATED: Cristina Yang's Slow Transformation Over The Years (In Pictures)

After Preston left her at the altar, she continued working for the hospital long after. The two were later reunited in season 10, where Cristina agreed to take over Prestons Switzerland hospital. In her last line, the viewers see her gladly embracing her newfound duties.

Invasive non-small-cell with a history of COPD. Thats pretty much a goner, right? 30 Days.

In his first line, Mark flirts with Meredith upon arriving at the hospital, something that Derek didnt appreciate at all. Eventually, fans learn that Mark was the reason that Derek and Addisons marriage fell apart.

However, in the show, Mark began to drop his womanizing ways when he fell for Lexie. Sadly, he also died from the injuries he sustained in the plane crash. As his condition was getting worse, he signed a form that asks the time the hospital can be withdrawing his care. In his last line, Mark replies, 30 days. It may have been short but it was devastating all the same as he had quickly become a fan-favorite.

This is Love you

In his first line, the viewers find Derek in Merediths house after they had a supposed one-night stand. Working at the same hospital, though, allowed them to keep seeing each other. And when fans learned that Derek was married to Addison, they were still hoping that Derek and Meredith would end up together in the long run.

Eventually, this happens although their relationship faced a lot of challenges throughout the episodes. However, when Patrick Dempsey decided to leave the show, the character got killed off. In his last line, Derek is shown on a ferry recording a voicemail for Meredith, declaring his love for the final time. It was nice to see Derek's first and last lines were directed towards Meredith.

007. I love you, Dr. Bailey. Dr. Alex Karev.

When fans first met him, Alex came off as a cocky intern and in his first line, he emphasizes this jerk-like behavior when he refers to George as 007. In the end, it became clear that Alex had always been in love with Izzie. In fact, the character leaves to be with her and their children in the end. By looking at his first and last lines, it's quite interesting to see how much he ha
d changed over the years.

Anatomy of a supply chain attack: how to accelerate incident response and threat hunting – SecurityBrief Australia

Article by ThreatQuotient APJC regional director Anthony Stitt.

Over the past year, there has been a sharp rise in software supply chain attacks that infect legitimate applications to distribute malware to users. SolarWinds, Codecov, and Kesaya have all been victims of such attacks that went on to impact thousands of downstream businesses around the globe. Within minutes of these high-profile attacks making headline news, CEOs often ask: Should we be concerned? How is it impacting us? What can we do to mitigate risk?.Chief information security officers (CISOs), and their teams on the front lines, need answers fast. But once details are released, it can be difficult and time-consuming to connect the dots and formulate answers.

A case in point months after the SolarWinds Orion security breach:

Fortunately, some solutions can help teams understand the impact, take the right actions faster and even proactively mitigate risk.

A closer look at the Codecov breach

Using the Codecov security breach as an example, threat intelligence experts explained the timeline of events. This included how it took approximately two months for the breach to be discovered, another two weeks for the first indicator to be shared (an IP address), and two more weeks for a second round of indicators to be published. However, integrating a threat intelligence platform with a threat reconnaissance platform can close the threat intelligence gap from weeks to minutes to accelerate investigations. The threat reconnaissance platform can also reveal additional indicators on day-one that security analysts can bring use to expand their threat hunting, incident response and mitigation activities.

Armed with these tools, security analysts can answer executives top questions, including:

Should we be concerned?

Threat intelligence platforms aggregate, normalise, deduplicate and correlate all the external intelligence sources an organisation subscribes to. But it is difficult to know whats important to focus on without scoring and prioritising that intelligence.

Using parameters analysts set, as well as adversary attributes, the experts showed that the external threat intelligence received a score of 10 making it a very high priority and confirming that there was reason to be concerned.

How is it impacting us?

Next, the experts formalised the investigation and threat hunt to discover additional information and determine if there was a sighting within the environment. Creating a campaign within threat intelligence platforms enables security teams to closely monitor developments.

The experts used information from within the platform and pivot points outside the platform to gather more details. For instance, adding the URL for the Covdecov website as an attribute, they identified the first IP address Codecov made public and brought that into the threat intelligence platform, allowing them to quickly see a sighting of that same IP address in the SIEM. They knew they were impacted.

How do we mitigate risk?

From there, the experts pivoted to a phased approach of threat hunting, adding information to the attributes within the investigation and linking it to the IP address that had been spotted. They assigned a task to an engineer for IPS/IDS blocking and marked the task as critical, requiring immediate action to remediate.Meanwhile, the experts expanded the threat hunt by diving deeper into the signal telemetry to determine what was going on behind the Codecov attack. Thats where the threat reconnaissance platform comes into play and leverages an aggregation of internet traffic telemetry from an ecosystem of data sharing partners and CSIRT teams worldwide.

Running a query against all these data sets quickly revealed additional IP addresses that appeared to be managing the initial IP address. Other likely indicators were also discovered. There was no need to wait two weeks for public disclosure of additional indicators. The integration of a threat intelligence platform and reconnaissance platform allowed the experts to pivot and conduct further reconnaissance on their own, turning a reactive situation into a proactive one. With the ability to expand and accelerate their hunt, they could assign additional tasks to the engineer to enable proactive protection.Supply chain attacks show no sign of slowing down. But the right combination of platforms can help organisations get ahead of the threat.

The anatomy of a perfect honeymoon hotel: what to look for and what to avoid – Telegraph.co.uk

If you have love, you dont need anything else, wrote J M Barrie. An eternal truth; and yet a century on, in a world where so many of us have already been everywhere and done everything, there is huge pressure on the honeymoon to be perfect, a no-expense-spared trip of a lifetime. It doesnt need to be. Cutting loose from the world for a while is enough, either in a place you love or somewhere new to discover together.

Choose a place to suit both your souls, where youll be happy for a week or two, particularly in a world where travel may still be complicated. Certain hotels, whether its a game-changer or a grande dame, have the X-factor that inimitable quality that makes them magical, sets them apart from all the others, which has nothing to do with price.

That magic is different for everyone. It might be the art on the walls, or the stories buried within them; it might be a vibe, a setting, or a place where you can sleep deeply and awake feeling like gods. Or perhaps its just that feeling that youre home, only better.

Great hotels are not simply set in great locations, but shaped by them. The location should run right through it: in the view, of course, but also in the food, the philosophy, the architecture and design. Choose a setting that moves you, whether ocean or mountains, an empty wilderness or a city with hidden depths. Certain landscapes are imbued with a romance that can tip postnuptial happiness into vertigo: Impressionistic Provence or Tuscanys gilded hills; the timeless dolce vita of Italys Lakes or Riviera.

Islands cannot fail, with their inherent romance that comes from being cut off from the rest of the world. Go-slow Mediterranean islands, steeped in history, are bewitching for lovers: Ischia, Formentera, Hydra, Sicily, Corsica, with fingernail coves scented by wildflowers.

Then there are those private palm-fringed paradises, such as North Island Seychelles and Maldives original Gili Lankanfushi, Indonesias Bawah Reserve, or The Brando, adrift in the South Pacific. For wilder spirits, some craggy outpost, from sensational Islas Secas on Panamas Pacific coast to Eilean Shonain Scotland.

Grey’s Anatomy – Kevin McKidd on why still enjoys playing Owen – digitalspy.com

Grey's Anatomy star Kevin McKidd has discussed why he continues to enjoy the role of Dr Owen Hunt, 12 years after making his first appearance on the show in 2008.

Speaking to Digital Spy ahead of the launch of Disney+'s Star on Tuesday, February 23 which will include seasons 1-15 of the popular medical drama the actor said he appreciates the fact that Owen is "flawed".

"I like the fact that he's a messy character," he said. "He's not this kind of perfect guy. He can be sweet but he can also be tough. He can also be kind of a hothead and a kind of a bull in a china shop.

"He can annoy me sometimes, because I'm annoyed at the choices he's making, but I think that's what I like about him.

"He's not easy to characterise as a man. He's flawed, he knows he's flawed, and he's trying to do better. Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't, and I like that because that feels real."

McKidd added that when he first met with creator Shonda Rhimes and signed up for the role, he knew very little about the character other than he worked in the army.

"Time just flies and I feel incredibly lucky and incredibly fortunate and blessed that I get the chance to do this. I really, really do. Every day, I feel grateful for it," he said.

Now in its 17th season in the US, the show continues to be a global success. Millions around the world tune in to follow the lives of these doctors both at work and away from the hospital.

McKidd offered his thoughts on why the show has resonated with so many people, believing the characters are human but inspiring.

"It really does a good job in the writing of depicting all these doctors and these nurses and these patients who are all just struggling with their own problems and their issues," he shared. "There are medical issues, there are mental issues, there are emotional and life issues, and despite all the struggles, everyone is trying to do their best.

"And people make mistakes and they mess up, but everybody's trying to do better each day. And I think that's inspiring. That's a global, very universal theme.

"Yeah, we've all got problems, but we still should try to improve ourselves day in day out, and I think that's why people are so invested in these characters. They see that they're flawed and they're troubled and they have issues, but they work through them and try to do better."

And with the ongoing pandemic, the medical drama has greater significance.

While referencing the fact that the show is currently filming storylines related to COVID-19, McKidd who released a charity single in May 2020 to support food banks described the frontline staff as heroes.

"It really is heroism of all these medical practitioners, nurses, doctors and everybody who works in these arenas," he said.

"They're exposing themselves to this virus every single day. They've been working incredible hours, they're stretched thin, they're at breaking point all the time.

"And I think getting the chance to dramatise that especially with all this misinformation that's out there about mask-wearing and about the protocols and about the vaccine I think it's important for us to really go, 'These are human beings. This is not a political thing. This is real life. These people are people. These doctors and nurses are people. They're scared but they're doing it anyway. They really are the frontline soldiers of this battle'.

"So I feel proud that we get to dramatise that and shine a light on it."

Grey's Anatomy seasons 1-15 will be available to stream on Disney+ via Star on Tuesday, February 23.

Was the Musical Episode of Greys Anatomy Really That Bad? – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Just about everyone loves a good musical. Lets face it, they are fun to watch, and can really put the viewer in a good mood. However, when it comes to our favorite go-to television shows, fans arent always all that happy about seeing things deviate from what they are used to. Greys Anatomy, one of the most popular shows on television, often uses background music in order to set the tone for its scenes, but as all hard-core fans are well aware, music isnt really the main theme of the show.

However, there was a musical episode that aired, and although the writers and producers likely had high hopes it was actually met with mixed reviews. Entertainment Weekly reports that some fans found the show to be far from perfect, with some going so far as to say that it was just not in keeping with everyones expectations. Now, we will take a closer look and answer the question as to if the musical episode of Greys Anatomy was really that bad.

The idea of a musical episode is not exactly a new one, and Greys Anatomy is far from the first television show to have brought the idea to life. So, what other shows have taken the risk and included a musical episode? Well, according to The Wrap, there was the time that Buffy the Vampire Slayer did just that with their episode titled Once More, With Feeling, in which a demon tried to get all the characters to reveal their secrets before Sarah Michelle Gellar broke out into song and dance, and fans were absolutely delighted. Other shows that went the route of a musical episode include Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother, Riverdale, and Ally McBeal.

So, just how does a show that has become one of the best hospital dramas of all time actually manage to pull off a musical episode? Well, we can only imagine that it wasnt easy, and for those who didnt watch it, we will take the time to discuss what the episode was all about. According to Screen Rant, the episode was inspired by Sara Ramirez and featured a car accident involving Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins. The injuries sustained are life-threatening, and Torres has hallucinations that involve her and the doctors who are working on her singing their hearts out. Her injuries and hallucinations cause her to see things from a totally different perspective, and the doctors, who are shaken up beyond belief, perform songs that include Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, The Story by Brandi Carlile, and How to Save a Life by The Fray.

The episode was met with pretty mixed reviews, and there are some who really didnt like it at all. So, was it really that bad? One Reddit user said that I think the musical episode is creative storytelling and was a cool addition to the overall show. Its brave to try something like that. Another fan went so far as to say that The musical episode was a decent idea with bad execution. While some viewers seemed to enjoy it, it seems that others just didnt welcome the concept of Greys Anatomy featuring a musical episode. It just wasnt what they were expecting, and they feel that the overall plot of the episode went on for too long. Even so, fans seem to agree that while it wasnt their favorite, it wasnt exactly horrible either. The episode, although not that bad, was a reach, but most viewers would rather stick to what they know and love.

Katherine Heigl Hints at Possible Return to Greys Anatomy After Dramatic Exit: Never Say Never – Us Weekly

Water under the bridge? Katherine Heigl would be down to bring Izzie Stevens back to Greys Anatomy years after her dramatic 2010 exit.

I dont know, the Emmy winner, 42, told E! News Daily Pop during a virtual interview on Wednesday, January 27, when asked if she would ever return to the beloved ABC medical drama. But I would never say never.

Heigl starred on the Shonda Rhimes-created series from 2005 to 2010, departing from the show after its sixth season. Two years before she left, the New Years Eve actress sparked drama behind-the-scenes when she opted out of Emmy consideration because she didnt think the material she was given during season 4 warranted a nomination. At the time, Rhimes, 51, was surprised by Heigls comment but wasnt insulted.

I have a really wonderful working relationship with Katherine. Everybody knows Izzie is one of my favorite characters, she said, claiming that Katherine asked me to write her light story line for the second half of the season so that she could do her movie.

As rumors of tension between the showrunner and the 27 Dresses star continued to swirl, fans wondered how long Heigl would stay on the series. When her exit deal was finalized in the middle of season 6, Heigl said she wanted to focus on spending time with her family.

Reflecting on the circumstances of her departure, Heigl said she was really embarrassed when her comments went viral.

I went in to [see] Shonda and said, Im so sorry. That wasnt cool, and I should not have said that. And I shouldnt have said anything publicly, the Knocked Up star said on The Howard Stern Show in 2016. But at the time, I didnt think anyone would notice. I just quietly didnt submit and then it became a story, and I felt I was obligated to make my statement, and [I should have just said], Shut up, Katie.'

While Heigl has seemingly put her mistakes behind her, Rhimes threw shade at the Suits alum while discussing the culture on the Scandal set. There are no Heigls in this situation, she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2014. I dont put up with bullshit or nasty people. I dont have time for it.

Though she might not be walking the halls of Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital anytime soon, Heigl is plotting a return to TV with the upcoming Netflix drama Firefly Lane, which hits the streaming platform in February. Working on the series which is based on Kristin Hannahs novel of the same name was like a breath of fresh air.

Every single one of us has probably had that experience where when you try to stand up for something or put your foot down about something, youre either hysterical or difficult or being a bitch, Heigl said on Wednesday. That didnt exist on this set. There was none of that and you felt really protected. It was phenomenal.
