Mutilated sea lions wash ashore Vancouver Island
http://www.ctvvancouverisland.ca http COMOX VALLEY -- The Department of Fisheries and Oceans says a disturbing cluster of mutilated sea lions and harbour seals have been washing up on the shores of Vancouver Island. In the past two weeks a headless sea lion with a bullet hole in its mid section was discovered near Campbell River. Then a badly mutilated sea lion washed on shore at a Comox Valley beach. Now, the DFO say in the past two months there have been many more. A DFO aquatic mammal specialist says more than a dozen sea lions and harbour seals have been found on beaches with a variety of damage to their bodies. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is investigating the trend. Follow Scott Cunningham on Twitter: http://www.twitter.comFrom:ctvviViews:1 0ratingsTime:02:27More inNews Politics
