Beaches Habitat to build first home for Wounded Warrior by Sally Hanson, Contributor The Beaches Leader, Inc.

I know that you worry about me but know that guardian angels are with me and God has a plan for me.

Sgt. Ryan Smith wrote those words in a letter to his wife, Gena, nine days before his Humvee ran over an explosive device in Karbola, Iraq. It was Jan. 17, 2006, and he was on his second tour in Iraq.

The Wounded Warrior Project is helping Ryan recover and return to civilian life.

Beaches Habitat for Humanity will play a role in the next part of the plan for the Smiths.
