Just Why Are Machines So Stupid? Jonas Kubilius at TEDxVilnius
Jonas Kubilius graduated from Vilnius Lyceum and continued his studies in Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he double majored in mathematics and physics. During the studies he got interested in neuroscience and worked in the lab of prof. Nancy Kanwisher. He also studied theater arts as his minor, acting both in university theater as well as on the professional scene. After graduating MIT, Jonas spent another year working as a research assistant at Kanwisher lab, and then started studies at KU Leuven (Belgium), where he obtained a master degree in artificial intelligence. Currently, Jonas Kubilius is a doctoral student in experimental psychology at the same university. His focus of research is vision. Jonas is trying to understand the underlying processes in human brain that allow us to extract objects, faces, or places for the visual input. In thespirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)From:TEDxTalksViews:1 0ratingsTime:16:31More inScience Technology
