USNA Aerospace- Simple Frigate Shape 2 Computational Fluid Dynamics Simulations
Simple Frigate Shape 2 (SFS2) CFD simulations done at Air Force Research Laboratory, Maui, HI in July 2012. Simulations are of the full size SFS2 in open ocean and of a scale model SFS2 in a wind tunnel. Simulations and visualizations were done by Ensigns Ned Davis and Ben Rowe and US Naval Academy Midshipmen 1/C Chance Rauscher and Ian Sonnenberg. Work supervised by Dr. Hyung Suk Kang and Prof. Murray Snyder. Research funded by AFRL, DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program and the Office of Naval Research.
