Makey Makey - Video Classroom - Mr. B
As teachers, we are always encouraged to showcase students work, as it makes them proud of their achievements, motivates others to try harder, and promotes the course/program. I was faced with a dilemma in my TV VIDEO/FILM classroom, as I wanted to put a rotation of videos on display that students could control, but had to overcome the fact that I was unable to; -Drill holes into walls to run wiring -Have exposed wires showing of any kind -Leave behind mouse/keyboard, as it will get stolen or vandalized. With a some planning, and materials R D, I discovered a conductive tape thats basically aluminum foil with adhesive on the back. I think they use it in aerospace engineering to bridge gaps between metal plates to allow for proper grounding. Long story short, I used this metallic tape to act as the interface for this user interface. You may not be able to see it, but each strip is actually 2 strips. 1 ground, one signal carrier. The buttons are as follows. NEXT VID, PREV VID, VOL UP, VOL DOWN. I then programmed VLC player to accept these keyboard shortcuts, and I was well on my way!From:watchandlearn2010Views:0 0ratingsTime:00:50More inComedy
