REPRESENTATIVES from aerospace businesses across East Lancashire are being invited to attend a workshop to learn about the work of the Aerospace Growth Partnership, a joint government and industry initiative.

The session, at the Preston Marriott Hotel, on Thursday, will see business leaders discuss how the partnership could help them grow and attract new business.

The event, which is jointly hosted by Northwest Aerospace Alliance and aerospace trade organisation ADS, is the latest in a series of AGP roadshows across the UK to brief companies on the 2billion Aerospace Industrial Strategy and the National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme.

Graham Chisnall, deputy CEO and aerospace managing director, said: It has been a really exciting year for the aerospace sector and we have seen huge strides forward. The civil aerospace industry is experiencing rapid growth due to the increase in passenger air traffic and the modernisation of existing fleets. This, in turn, creates significant opportunities for the North West supply chain.

Martin Wright, CEO of the North West Aerospace Alliance, said: The AGP has resulted in the creation of the Aerospace Technology Institute backed by 2billion provided by government and the industry over seven years. It will support the development of technologies that will ensure the UK maintains it position at the forefront of aerospace in the world market.

Businesses interested in the event, from noon to 4.15pm, can visit http://www.aerospace.co.uk/events/130704-agp-roadshow to register.
