History of the REP: Half a Century of Medical Records Linkage in a US Population.
Dr. Walter Rocca, an Epidemiologist from the Department of Health Sciences Research and the Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, discusses an article appearing in the December 2012 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where he outlined the history and current activities of a unique and growing research infrastructure known as the Rochester Epidemiology Project. This project maintains a medical records-linkage system for the entire population of Olmsted County in Southeastern Minnesota that has been used to conduct clinical and epidemiological studies for almost half a century.
