Tim McGraw's 'Two Lanes of Freedom' Tour Kicks Off in May

Tim McGraw is heading back on the road this summer on the Two Lanes of Freedom tour, hitting 30 cities in North America between May and July. "Let's leave anything that might be weighing us down out in the parking lot and spend a few hours together feeling alive and free," McGraw says in the tour announcement.

With Brantley Gilbert and Love and Theft as supporting acts, McGraw begins his trek on May 2 in Birmingham, AL and will snake through the South, Northeast, Midwest and West Coast before wrapping up July 27 in Virginia Beach.

McGraw spent last summer on a 22-city co-headlining tour with Kenny Chesney.

The "Two Lanes of Freedom" album, McGraw's first on Big Machine, arrives Feb. 5. In this week's Billboard Cover Story, the country superstar calls the album "a watershed moment in my career. It's a time where I say, 'All right, let's see if I can go another step up. Let's see if I can find a deeper well in what I do artistically."

The album's first single, "One of Those Nights," has been steadily climbing the Billboard Country Songs chart, jumping 21-15 in the past week alone.
