Freedom Store Donates To Program

Freedom Valu Centers of Yankton and Erickson Oil Products, headquartered in Hudson, Wis., have announced the contribution of $4,539 to the Folds of Honor Foundation. Folds of Honor support military families by providing scholarships and other opportunities for dependents of fallen or injured US soldiers (http://www.foldsofhonor.org/).

Anheuser Busch makers of Budweiser are the major sponsor of Folds of Honor. During a six week long 2012 campaign, Freedom Valu Center pledged to donated 25 cents a case for every case of Budweiser sold in their stores located in Wisconsi, South Dakota, Michigan and Minnesota.

We introduced the concept at our summer Store Managers meeting and we were all moved to help families of our fallen heroes said Mike Sheedy Category Manager Freedom Valu Centers. Store Managers supported with large in-store displays of Budweiser featuring special patriotic cans & bottles at very competitive retails.

The FREEDOM campaign coincided with a national program which Anheuser Busch contributed an additional 5 cents per case on Budweiser sold. In conjunction with this and the Walk -Off Hero program (tied to the 2012 MLB baseball season) it is anticipated that as much as $2.5 million was raised nationally benefiting Fold of Honor Foundation.
