What values does one have to guide them in the choice for the principle leader of our country? In this time of uncertainly, confusion and distress, we need a person of character, with intelligence, and willing to be held accountable.

Mr. Trumps values show up as wealth, power and popularity. Due to his unbridled ego, he ignores the facts of science and refuses to follow advised pandemic guidelines and health precautions. This is a life and death matter for many people, especially essential workers and folks in marginalized communities. Vulnerable senior citizens like my husband and I look for assurance that someone capable is in charge.

We get a chance to change our president with our votes in November. Is the person we choose guided by The Golden Rule spelled out in the International Charter for Compassion, Treat others and Planet Earth as you would like to be treated?

We need a leader with empathy who can unite the people and call for the participation of allto build a strong and respected nation. How can folks of all races have the respect, freedom and services they need? Can refugees from violence find refuge here? Will students from abroad be allowed to stay and finish their education? What can be done to stop the downward spiral due to our environmental choices?

I believe that President Trumps leadership style does not honor the wisdom of qualified people. He is willing to tell lies, to bully and mistreat his wisest advisors, to act rudely to friendly international leaders, and supports others we mistrust. He denies or fails to take responsibility for his actions.

He may hold the Bible in his hand, but not the message of love in his heart and mind. Everyones vote is valuable; vote for Joe Biden to allow for change.
