A poem about a fictitious Creation "Scientist" that must consider the ramifications after he accidentally makes a living, breathing Man from scratch while trying to disprove the abiogenesis hypothesis (I know the scenario doesnt make sense scientifically...its called "poetic license). He, souless, but clearly not guideless, all the while, free of that beguiling contrivance called Original Sin. Does this, in some way, make him Homo-Sapiens #39; superior? More a Man, by virtue of being a Being man-made in Man #39;s image? While I prate on of the weight of my perdue soul, fearing for all that I mightn #39;t be without it. Unlike He, so sure and ready, all of his own. Knowing me, his creator, personally. Owing I #39;m no greater, no call to pray to me. That is, to cater to one such as I... Save, maybe, for the soul that I lay claim to, but is it really derived from up-on-high? And just what did I surmise He #39;d be, synthesized so into being? From abiogeneology to flesh, yet He IS me, in a sense. Us; we, rather. I mean, Humanity... But somehow better; something more by being, somehow, something less, I gather. Wrought from a mere mess of inert chemistry, when I sought only to test, chemically, Creation #39;s dirty polemic, not to pervert the value endemic to Humankind. Yet, the most prized experiments are those that swell and grow outside their limits, beyond imprudent abortifacients, and so, take on life all their own for the study.
