Life cycle, costing and carbon workshop
http://www.adaptcbe.co.uk Currently in the planning process, the latest UEA building, the Norwich Research Park (NRP) Enterprise Centre, is targeting Passivhaus Certification and BREEAM Outstanding using renewable materials. At the workshop in this video clip, the design team met with a consultant from BSRIA to debate a few of the early ideas and particularly consider how the building #39;s Passivhaus specification might affect its life cycle output. To read more about the workshop, read our blog post adaptcbe.wordpress.com This landmark project is part-funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, in addition to match funding from the University of East Anglia, Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBRSC), Norwich Research Park (NRP) and BRE. The purpose of the building is to host an enterprise centre, teaching and learning rooms -- including a 300 seat lecture theatre. The brief included a remit to fulfil the ERDF requirements that the building is a demonstration of innovation in design, build and post occupancy. Part of that demonstration was to include facilities for testing the next generation of renewable materials.
